In this video I show you how to change a fuel filter of Jaguar X-type. I usually change the fuel filter on my V6 petrol Jag once a year or at least every third oil change. I know that I do it much more often than a manual requires, but it is cheap enough and easy to replace, so Jaguar X-type fuel filter replacement doesn't take me too much time, money or efforts.
I gave you some tips how to avoid a fountain of fuel when disconnecting fuel pipes under the car. Otherwise one can get a shower of gas, which is not quite safe first of all.
The only tool I needed for removing the fuel filter of Jaguar X-type was an 8 mm socket or wrench. I quite forgot, I also made use of pliers to squeeze the fuel pipe connector clips.

Thank you Roman! I do and will appreciate your every new video... If you have an idea, please be so kind to shoot a video in the future about how to detect the air "sucks" under the intake manifold and all surrounding hoses - A LOT of jags owners have that problem and the corresponding unstable revs, spits from the exhaust when cold and often the engine not revving more than 3000 rpm. I have been told now that i have a faulty maf sensor, but another guy told me that until I check and eliminate those air leakages (which might be caused by a lot of mechanics overdoing the screwing of the bolts and ruining the bases for them in the plastic parts), the problem will persist any way... I have gas installed, and the gas hoses cover the bolt caps, and it is difficult for me to understand how I can get to those 6 outside and 6 (if i am not mistaken) inside bolts of the manifold... I have a 2.5 benzine-gas car... Thank you anyway!))

Thank you for your comments. I believe, the only reliable method to locate all possible vacuum leaks of the intake is to pressurize the intake with a smoke machine. You'd better search for a skilled technician with a smoke machine if you haven't got this device. As for the 6 lower and 6 upper manifold seal rings, they should be new or at least newly changed. Thanks God, they are not too expensive for 2.5 and 3.0 engines (ford compatibles will help you). It is not a problem to remove the lower plastic parts of the manifold - all the bolts securing them are tightened to the metal head of the engine. It is a problem to remove and install the upper part of the manifold, because 3 short bolts go to plastic and can tear the nuts out of it. The other 3 long bolts securing the upper part also go to the metal engine head. My method is: when removing the manifold, first unscrew short bolts, which go to plastic, after that unscrew 3 long bolts, which go to metal. Don't let the manifold be secured with short bolts tightened to plastic, they may tear the nuts out of it. When installing the manifold, first I tighten the long bolts to the metal head of the engine, and only after that tighten short bolts to the plastic parts. I don't plan to remove my manifold just for taking a video, it's very easy to spoil something. But I will think about taking some kind of manual may be in the future.

@@jaguarrroman Thank you Roman! And what would you recommend to do if one of the nuts is already torn? I am not sure yet that it is my case but the probability is quite high...

@@dima.english To tell you the truth, I have never experienced tearing the nut out, but other X-typers usually put an iron nut and a washer from the other side of the plastic detail. There is enough space below. I checked with my car, the short bolts are two lower ones on the right side and one upper on the left side if you are looking at the engine from the front end of the car.
