It always makes me happy when I see a couple with a child with autism stay together. It can be hard. My son's father said he wasn't going to be around until my son started talking and was totally potty trained. Been 6 years since we heard from him and my son is 9 now. I think you guys are beautiful :)
It's a blessing in disguise I have dealt with a similar situation. We are happier and better of surrounded by love and understanding. All the best to you momma you rock. ☺
My Catheryn is 17, has Autism and Recently diagnosed Schizophrenic. She is 17, we have been married for 24 1/2 years. My husband & I are each other's best friends and lovers till this day. Wouldn't have it any other way. Honestly We couldn't have done it without out each other. We can definitely relate to them. Thanks for your post, makes us feel great to have wonderful people like you supporting us. You were always better than him and deserve everything and more! 🙏💜
That is just awful! My husband and I have four kids total...two with autism, one with ADHD, and one with OCD/Anxiety. He would never leave us. I am so sorry that the dad ran off on you...you and the child deserve so much better!
Yeah and an affair and a secret baby and 18yrs of child support. Don't believe every little happy story ppl tell you. There's a reason ppl warn others with these things.
I actually love your guys love story. You had every reason not to work out but you did it and pulled thru and have a wonderful life together. Me and my husband did things in order (the boring way, haha). Started dating at 16, got engaged at 19, married right after we turned 23, first baby right before 24, and second baby at 29. Still happy and in love.
He had “doodie” that weekend but he had “doodie” while he had food poisoning.... 😂😂 I laughed so hard I cried 🤷🏼♀️ I’m such a child! Somehow I missed this video ... so sweet so in love ... what a great story ❤️
Isaiah is a spitting image of you Asa ! You guys were such a cute couple and you still are. It’s so lovely to see marriages like yours, you can see how strong your love for eachother is.
Me and the hubby met in the May pregnant by the September and had premature baby girl in the April, married in the June and we've been married 37 yrs next June...., it was a done thing back in the day to marry....love your story I can relate to it....love you guys 😊
Kayla C same with me, met my wife online, then 6 months later, and we are 6 years married now. But another twist is that she was in another country (morocco) and i live in the US
Met my husband on the internet as well! Back then it was scandalous! 😂 Moved in together after 3 months, got married, had four kids...and we've been together for 16 years! 💕 Still happy!
Having 3 with autism has definitely strengthened our marriage as well. We had Kaden right away and we were barely 20 - so young! You guys are too cute! Great story, great video! Can’t wait to see get the final get up of your sweaters. I like the chimney idea but I think Priscilla as a Christmas tree may win haha
This is a really beautiful story. I'm 20 now so watching it I feel a lot of respect for you, that's a lot to handle at that age and you guys have a wonderful family now
It’s hard to grasp you guys as real people in your new vlogs but of course you’re real people it’s just harder to grasp your personalities, so I really loved this story, it’s happy , sad and beautifully real. Thank you so much for sharing your lives with the world, and I’m so glad you tube is your full time job now. You guys deserve all the success.
My husband and I were Engaged and Parents within a year- we are happily married 4 years❤️ also a special needs mom and dad and honestly we learn new things about each other STILL he's my best friend
Wow! Didn't imagine a story like that would be yours! Very interesting though! Asa you should show all them teen boys who get girls pregnant and then run, a lesson! So glad you two came together and made it work! Good job guys! Great life story, I'm glad you shared it with us. I hope the next chapters of your lives work out even better for you.
Man it was so nice listening to how you met and all that you've been through together! Ps: Can't wait to see the reveal!! That chimney headband turned out awesome
It's funny you mention a back seat as a couch - we have a back seat of a minivan as a couch. My husband built a wooden base for it. One of my children (high functioning autism) used to love buckling himself in. It also stands up to rocking, etc. very well.
You guys tell stories wonderfully together. A lot of couples have one person that just cuts the other off. You both play off of each other so well. ❤️❤️
I just found your channel about a week ago and haven't stopped watching since (except for work and all the adulting stuff). I know this is an older video but it made me love you all even more than I already did. The summary at the end is what we all hope for but it's a fairy tale and real life is so much sweeter. And harder but still so much sweeter. You're all amazing. Thank you for sharing. I subscribed and have notifications on. I can't wait to see what's next :)
“We went from kids to parents, like that”. That sounds like me and my husband, he was 20 and I was 18 when we got married. Fast forward 20 years, we have two daughters, 20 and 8 years old. Thank you both for being so open about y’alls relationship.
Aww. What a wonderful and sweet story. CONGRATULATIONS ON HAVING SUCH A WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIP AND LIFE AND I WISH YOU GUYS ALL ETERNITY. YOU MAKE A GREAT COUPLE AND FAMILY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE ASA!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I want a Asa and Priscilla kinda of love 🧡 Y’all have such a genuine love for each other and it’s beautiful to see. I know from past videos it’s taken a lot of patience, love, and understanding to get where you are today but boy are y’all admirable.
Beautiful family and story, it's rare nowadays to see a happy married couple still together after almost 20 years! I wish you another happy 20 years together!!
I met my partner when I was 19 years old and he was in is early 20’s I got pregnant 3 months into our relationship I’m now 23 and my partner is 28 our daughter is now 3 and we’ve been together 4 years and engaged for 1 year.. and we are getting married next year he had 2 beautiful kids before we met and our daughter and his son share a birthday and my daughter and I are 8 days apart which is amazing and I love it. I’ll never forget my age 😂
What an awesome story, thanks for sharing! Y'all are my favorite people on UA-cam, so real and honest, such an inspiration to me to be a better person.
Honestly my main reaction is just respect. I’m so impressed that you guys stuck it out. Even with mistakes, inconvenient circumstances, military schedules, you kept at it. It’s like being given “character-building exercises” except that your character actually DID grow.
What a great story!!! Challenges can either make you or break you in a marriage. I have been married 19 years and we've certainly had our share of struggles and then some. You have to communicate. Thanks for sharing and I'm excited to see your creations. At first I thought Asa said crapping but I played it again and heard crafting, thank goodness!
I love this! You all are such an amazing couple. Priscilla is such an amazing wife and mother, she is so joyful always laughing and kind, you lucked out!!
I’ve been binge watching your videos lately, my son was recently diagnosed with autism and then BAM.. your videos are in my recommended! Funny how that happened. My husband and I got married very young and very quickly too.. I was 19 when we met in July and by the time we got married in December I had just turned 20. We’ve had a rocky road, especially now with having a special needs kiddo and us still in college. You guys are an inspiration! Love the videos!
What a great story. Talk about overcoming adversity...you got married 2 days before my son with autism was born. We are all fighters. Asa, I hope you are feeling better today.
Took her back to my country and gave her children! You have me dying over here. I may have watched that part multiple times. Priscilla, your reaction made it even better! You guys are amazing! Keep up the amazing work!
Love when Priscilla said, "oh I remember, I'll take over from here"😂😂 I didn't realize y'alls backstory and how u came to be. Its really amazing that you two made it and have worked it out. y'all really both lucked out for this "accident", or should I way Blessing, to have happened with each other and not some awful horrific people
I am so glad you married and have the beautiful family of Isaiah and Abby. Thank you for sharing your story. I was19 and my husband was 22 when we married. He was in the military and our first assignment was Pilot training. We had my bedroom set and an old couch and kitchen table his Mom gave us. These were the best days of our marriage. We had each other and didn’t care about anything else. Looking at Priscilla in this video I can see that Abby looks just like her.
I was just watching this since I missed it 8 months ago. The thumbnail literally looks like Abbie and Isaiah in the wedding dress and suit 😂 Abbie looks like Priscilla and Isaiah looks exactly like Asa.. that’s so crazy!
I wish I found this channel sooner. The whole family is so beautiful. I am being addicted to your videos this week, and it’s amazing that you were doing so well despite the circumstances.
I love your story so much! We to met and married as very young adults (15 & 17) and owe our happiness in our lives to our eldest daughter. Without her there wouldn’t be an us. 20 years later and still going strong! Cheers to young love ❤️
Sweet..you know we women remember EVERYTHING!! I can see where my husband's prison sentence is going to make us stronger but I'm not to that "dig my heels in and fight" place yet. I'm currently in devastation and my life is over status, but today is only day 8. You guys inspire me to face adversity. Thanks for the encouragement. Blessings~
When you started off saying you met in Guantanamo Bay i thought you were kidding but nope wow thats so interesting and unique 😂 Im glad you guys met and created some beautiful smart babies!!
I love hearing these stories. Even with our own story, it’s incredible to think that if one thing was different, we may never have gotten together. Everything led you to each other. Beautiful.
Loved the story of how you met and your early years of marriage and parenthood. Thank you so much for sharing! My husband and I have been married for 41 years. I was 22, and he turned 30 a little over a month after we got married. We had a son in 1977 and another son in 1986. As with most marriages, it hasn't always been sunshine and roses, but you work through things and get over the rough patches.
I'm currently studying for my summer medical school courses (half-heartedly) and whole-heartedly watching your videos. I've been watching for a couple months since I discovered your videos on Facebook and UA-cam, so I'm still working my way through your old videos (keep up with the news one everyday at 6pm). I came across this one today and found that it's probably one of my favorite, because yall's story as a family and the new chapters that continue to be added, is definitely one of my favorite stories of all time. You guys inspire me, you educate me, you make me laugh and sometimes you make me cry and I can honestly say that some of the lessons that I've learned from you guys have truly made me a better person, a better friend, a better lover, a better doctor-to-be, etc. Hopefully I can be half the parents and people that you guys are in the future. Thank you!
LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!! What an awesome story of the beginning of your relationship. This was truly a love story where you can hear the joy in each of your voices as you were relaying the facts of how A & P began. I have been wondering about "your story" ever since I started watching your videos. Charming story guys....
That explains why you guys are such a good team. Your basically grew up together because you were married and had Isaiah so young. A lot of couples could learn from you guys, to many people just give up on their relationship so easily. They don’t realize the grass isn’t always greener!
The food poisoning story reminds me of my best friend couple. She got food poisoning on their very first face-to-face meeting after talking on the phone, so she spent the whole time barfing. He stuck around anyway and they are still going strong six years later. My cousin and her now husband experienced food poisoning together only a few weeks into their relationship also, and had to share one bathroom for the whole ordeal. What is it about food poisoning that brings people together? Haha!
I feel like this is the first time I’ve heard Priscilla talk for a long amount of time & I love it! She’s so eloquent and funny! This was so sweet. And I’m excited to see your guys’ ugly Christmas sweaters! 💚 Also, you guys lived in Oregon! That’s where I’m from. (Yet I’m not an angry fishermen. Haha!)
Adventure is my Middle Name Yay! A fellow Oregonian! It’s not for everyone but I’m sometimes shocked when people dislike it here. The weather is awful but it’s so green everywhere so it makes up for it. Haha. :)
My parents got married when my dad was 27 and my mom was 22. They had only known each other for about three months. Everyone thought they did it because of a baby but it wasn’t at all. They just moved really really fast. I was born three years later and I’m the oldest. They did end up with issues because they moved too quickly before they really knew each other and knew if they could get along. They’ve been separated several times but don’t get divorced because of their religion. Point is yeah people need to give themselves time in a relationship to get to know each other well before they jump into being married.
Kwandaioha O.o i agree, create a friendship and grow. Meet each others family. Talk about what you both want out of life, be around for their family and your family parties. Take time!
I really been enjoying your channel. I was doing research on autism kids after I got a job as a caregiver and you guys are super helpful! First day will be tomorrow!
Love hearing this. My husband and i were married March 27,1999 and our son was born Aug 9 1999. we were a little older than u all , he was 21 and i was 23 . He was my high school friends little brother and we were both single at her wedding a year before. We lived in a 3 room apartment, kitchen and livingroom were the same room ,then bedroom and bathroom. Best time of our life. 2 years later aug 9,2001 our second son was born. it hasnt always been easy, but we are still going strong.
Good for you guys for actually making it work. You do not hear about relationship stories like this that work out so often. Much love to all the Maass family .
It's so awesome to see how far u guys have come. From a TV sitting in a milk crate n the backseat of a jeep for a couch to where u are now! That's freaking awesome u found a brand new mattress n box spring never used still in plastic in the side of the road. I hate "preggers" n "bun in the oven" too.
Just watched this episode, with my husband. Was describing your channel and the content. I work in a special needs classroom in Yorktown, Virginia, so I can relate to your channel. My husband is currently a BMC on the USCGC Bear. He just laughed and said, lol, 18 days at GITMO, sounds like the Bear. Side note, my first job working with Autistic kids was in Newport, Oregon. The boy was low functioning, nonverbal. He is probably the most influential person I’ve ever met. Anyways, your time on the Bear just made our day! Lots of love from my USCG family to yours!
yalls story is just FATE. u were DEF meant to be together! and I cant get over how much Isaiah looks like Asa! that pic of him when he was young looks JUST LIKE Isaiah!! They were both so gorgeous!
Just one other thing, my sister-in-law lives in Edenton, NC, just down the road from Elizabeth City. You guys are simply great people and parents, Isiah is an awesome son and Abbys smile is the sweetest thing .. Merry Christmas from Virginia.
You two are the greatest! I love how you are so candid and honest. Life doesn’t always go the way we expect it, but look at you now! Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us! Much love ❤️
What a cute story!! ❤️❤️
And Isaiah looks soo much like you when you were younger it's so cute 😱❤️❤️❤️
I know exactly
They STILL look so much alike! If Isaiah got a military haircut, he’d look EXACTLY like Asa did as a young Navy man!!
And Abbie looks like Priscilla...same dimples and pretty smile!
Precious story, loved it. Abby looks just like Priscilla and Isaiah looks just like you!
Really? I thought the opposite actually.
SoShinesAWearyWorld It came from Priscilla. :)
Exactly what I thought, too
“Do we have to put that in there?”
Priscilla-“OH YEAH”
LOL-said every woman ever!
Dying- "You just stopped calling. You just STOPPED calling."
Such a sweet story full of laughs & life!
Truly!!
you met in CUBA?! That is the last place in the world I would've guessed!! Talk about a small world!
That's exactly what I was thinking! Y'all found love in the most unlikely of places! Y'all were and still are such beautiful people. Inside and out.
“Oh I remember, I’ll take over” 😂 ME!
Julia Perritt that was hilarious lol she made sure he didn’t leave out the part where he stopped calling 😂 I would do the same
Kay A same! Never let them forget their biggest mistakes lmao
Julia Perritt the best bit lol
Still some angst there about the ghosting for sure lol I adore them and only recently started watching and this random old one popped up. Too cute.

i love how casual this storytelling is. it makes me feel like youre speaking to me and not making a pre planned video for thousands other people
It always makes me happy when I see a couple with a child with autism stay together. It can be hard. My son's father said he wasn't going to be around until my son started talking and was totally potty trained. Been 6 years since we heard from him and my son is 9 now.
This was truly a love story where you can hear the joy in each of your voices as you were relaying the facts of how
A & P began.
Haha!
My parents both had a horrible stomach flu on their wedding day... xD
XD jeez idk if this is supposed to be a curse or a blessing
My husband and I got married after an unplanned pregnancy and we have been together 10 years. It was tough at times but we are blessed beyond measure!
I feel like this is the first time I’ve heard Priscilla talk for a long amount of time & I love it! She’s so eloquent and funny! This was so sweet. And I’m excited to see your guys’ ugly Christmas sweaters! 💚
Also, you guys lived in Oregon! That’s where I’m from. (Yet I’m not an angry fishermen. Haha!)
Miranda Powell I like her voice. It’s soft and soothing.
I'm from Oregon as well, and last time I checked I am was not an angry fisherman either :). I do love it here.
Brenda Thayer I know!! I agree. :)
Adventure is my Middle Name Yay! A fellow Oregonian! It’s not for everyone but I’m sometimes shocked when people dislike it here. The weather is awful but it’s so green everywhere so it makes up for it. Haha. :)
I live in the Pacific Northwest and it’s beautiful. It’s my favorite place to be.
Awesome! Good luck!
Have a wonderful first day!
That’s quite a story! I really enjoyed this story and the way you two told it, I could imagine it like a storybook in my head. Love it.
Good for you guys for actually making it work. You do not hear about relationship stories like this that work out so often. Much love to all the Maass family .
Oh my word...lol...elf as a wrecking ball...cracked me up :) I really enjoyed this video about the two of you.
Isaiah, thank you for deciding to come into this world when you did. Asa and Pricilla, thank you for being you. ♥️
How have I never heard this? I love yalls story. Goes to show, it takes work in ANY RELATIONSHIP
Your story sounds just like mine and we're still married too. It will be 34 years!!
yalls story is just FATE. u were DEF meant to be together! and I cant get over how much Isaiah looks like Asa! that pic of him when he was young looks JUST LIKE Isaiah!!
March 10th is a perfect date. Great story thanks for sharing
Keep fighting...love you guys
