The wonderful thing is that babies see high contrast patterns and lines first so this room is especially visually dynamic for your son. It will be great for his development and it’s super cute
Mom and dad hack. A bra or sneaker mesh laundry bag to throw baby socks and mitts in before washing, so you don’t lose them in the laundry. It was honestly the best thing I did, because I hated searching for them in the laundry pile
Brooklyn you have been ABSOLUTELY GLOWING lately, I love to see how baby boy is making you so happy:) glad that everyone is healthy and so excited for January baby!!!💕💕💕
Can't WAIT to see little man and learn who he is! His room is adorable and very functional! I love that you didn't get too tied up in the details that you forgot about functionality. Kudos!
One tip for the changing table is to get the more plastic pads that are easier to wipe off since newborns are so messy and then switching to ones with the cute covers or adding them later on. It’s hard to keep up with washing and putting the covers on during the newborn stage!
I highly suggest getting the keek-a-roo peanut changing pad. A little pricey but so worth it. I just had my 3rd baby in less than 4 years and have used it for all 3 of them and it looks brand new still! Love that it’s wipeable!😊
We got changing pad covers that go on top of the sheet - almost like a giant slightly thicker burp cloth. We had like 8 of them in a basket next to the changing table so if there was a leak during a diaper change it was super easy to swap out.
Just a tip (Mama, grandmama and daycare owner here).....when Little Man is new, and in his blow out era(lol) maybe put a changing pad over the whicker changing basket so his pooey doesnt get into the basket. This nursery is beyond precious!!!! Totally perfect💙💙💙
Something that I've learned is when they are a little older (about 5 months) it's very helpful to have a mirror right about the changing table, so they can occupy themselves with their reflection and it makes changing easier.
Just a quick reminder for crib safety: it’s not safe to hang anything over the crib if it’s flushed against the wall. Items like decorations or wall hangings could potentially fall and pose a risk to your little one. If you’d like to keep the decor, consider moving the crib at least 1 foot away from the wall and 3 feet from any windows to ensure your baby’s safety. This reduces risks like falling objects, entanglement, or even drafts from windows. Your baby’s safety always comes first-you’re doing an amazing job! Also when baby is sleeping nothing should be in the crib! No toys/blankets. Breathable mattress are just a marketing term. All mattresses designed for babies are safe.
First time mama here! You may want to look into getting a cube storage system for baby’s closet! Hanging up alllll the new born clothes gets old fast! We just have drawers and sort them into Pants, Onesies, dress clothes, socks/coats. No folding just throwing them into the bins!
We got the same changing basket for our son born in July and it ended up being his favorite place to sleep. It’s so nice to move around the house! We take his monthly pictures in it and he is about to grow out of it already 🥲 soak up all the cuddles and tininess!! So excited for you guys.
Use a red light bulb in the lamp for night changes and feedings. The red light doesn’t disrupt their developing circadian rhythm. Beautiful nursery! So excited for your growing family!
It’s so nice that you are almost a mom. After some miscarriages we are finally at 11 weeks now so will be expecting in june. Since I’ve been watching you guys since learning my first complicated braids as a child I love to be in this new stage together too ❤
So cute and congrats! As a first time Mom of a 4 month old girl, I will say that I had a similar changing station and 3 days in I ended up buying the silicone changing table. They pee SO often when getting changed and it gets everywhere. I got so sick of having to constantly remove the bedding on it and wash it. The silicon is amazing because I just wipe it clean. Also, fun hack for poopy diapers. When my baby has a poopy diaper I put that and the wipes in a dog poop bag (which I already have for our dog), tie it up, and toss it in the pail. Because of this, when I open the pail it NEVER smells. When you just put the poopy diaper in the pail, every time you open it the smell hits you in the face. You'll find his poops won't smell like anything until a month in but then it gets BAD. Also, not totally necessary but gives awesome peace of mind - I'd suggest purchasing the owlet sock or Nanit breathing tracker system. SIDS is common in the first year and being notified if your baby stops breathing gives you so much peace of mind. We have the Nanit and love it. It can notify you of other things, too, like movement, sound, climate spikes/dips, audio, etc.
Off topic but i can’t wait also to see the entire video of clips with all the interviews you guys are doing during this pregnancy❤️ crying already picturing baby boy starring at the end of that video❤
Brooklyn, pls just make sure the stuff on the shelf above baby changing table is secure, you don’t want the heavy iron of the saddle falling on anything or anybody, or that horse thing or the glass from the photo frames, just make sure everything won’t fall down even if someone bumps into it which is likely to happen or god forbid an earthquake of some sort or if the wall or the shelf decides to give.
Make sure to make noise while baby is sleeping. You will not regret it. keeping the house noisey allows baby to adjust to sleeping with noise so you don't need to worry about a dog barking or door bell.
I really love the aesthetic! Even the neutrals are not basic boring beige but dark and light mixed neutral and the dark forest Green is 🤩🤩🤩🤩 thee wallpaper is my favorite tooo
Brooklyn the nursery is beautiful! So excited for baby boy, and did you know JUSTKASS wore the same dress as the one you wore for your baby shower to thanksgiving?! What a coincidence! 💙
Random recs: the best blanket for nursing is a mermaid tail blanket. That way you’re not constantly adjusting to tuck it around your cold feet or legs. Saved my life with baby #2 nursing in the winter nights. I also read books for thousands of hours with a neck reading lamp. (LOVE that rocking chair by the way!)
thank you so much for sharing your life with people you dont even know (not like that)! it has been amazing to see you go through this journey and see your little bump get bigger
Such a beautiful moment in life for you!! I’m so excited to see you become fully immersed in the mommy era of your life ❤ I know everyone is already giving unsolicited advice lol. I do have 3 of my own so I have some additional tips. If you are planning to breastfeed, I highly recommend having a bedside basinet as well as a changing station in your room. When they’re super new, you’re going to be feeding every 2 hours at the most so I’d also recommend moving the armchair into your room too if possible. It’ll be hard to go upstairs for each feeding and change as well as you’ll be so sleep deprived you need to make everything as convenient for you as possible! ALSO, highly recommend utilizing a sound machine as well as a red light bulb for nighttime feeds and changes. Helps you and baby fall back to sleep quicker!
The change pad is cute BUT after a few poops, spews and pees you won't want to use it anymore lol You'll want something easy to clean. I love your theme! It's so cute! Oh and diaper genie tip to reduce smells - only use it for wet diapers. Put poopy diapers in individual bags and straight out in the outside bin (or if during the night I'd put it by the back door ready to go out the next morning), especially once they're not pooping every diaper change
I loaded my diaper genie with both poop & pee diapers and it never smelled! 👏🏻 it twists the top of the bag after you put a diaper in and it keeps it super sealed up. Plus, that’s what it’s for!
and there are no blowout poops...maybe put a change pad there too... love checking back in from time to time and seeing how you guys have been doing :D
I am so excited for Brooklyn and Dakota!! They are going to be the best parents ever!!! I can’t wait to meet little man! Also that is the nursery of my dreams ❤❤❤
For me, the nursery feels a bit too grown-up, especially the pictures-I expected it to have more of a baby vibe. 😂 Still, I'm so excited for their baby! 😊
I guess it doesn’t really matter now but I do hope they’re prepared to change it when he’s one or two and would rather dinosaurs or something 😅 (Or once he starts ripping the hats off the wall!)
that’s just the cutest vintage cowboy room!!! i’m going for a rustic vintage room for my first baby boy as well, no cowboys tho! i just love the rustic vintage vibe with tons of comfort & soft blankeys
Such a cute nursery. Love the antique touches and cowboy hats! If you are really worried about stinky diaper smell the arm and hamor diaper trash bags (orange) are undetectable!!
Watching this is making me relive my pregnancy with my son. It’s truly the best feeling. We have similar taste with the country theme, there’s so many horses in my son’s room.
I’m so excited for you!! I would LOVE to see all the baby content!! Nest with me videos, organizing the dresser, just pretty much anything you wanna show😂
I recommend plastic grocery sacks to wrap the poopy diapers in before putting in the genie. It does help reduce the smell. 😂 Very cute space! 🤠 If your master bedroom is on the main floor, a bassinet and change table in there are a must!! 👍
Definitely recommend getting a weighted wipe dispenser to make diaper changes easier on you and also a hatch!! Having that sound machine as well as a red night light on has helped our girl learn how to sleep through the night!
LOVE IT!! The hats on the wall are WAY cute! Ive always loved cowboy themed things!! It's so sweet how Brooklyns mom and friends all contributed their own little thing to bring the whole room together and make it feel homey
Y'all did such a beautiful job with the nursery! Everything looks great! :) I'm curious: have y'all decided if (or how much) you will be sharing about your child publicly? I know that people love baby content, but I also want baby boy to have sufficient privacy, since he won't be old enough to make an informed decision about his social media presence. Anyway, just curious what y'all are thinking about stuff like that. :)
An idea for your little boy is to set him up a home corner. Children from 1-5 benefit greatly from it because it teaches them social skills, fine motor, language, sharing, sensory, creativity and assists them in practicing what you guys are showing him in the kitchen. Tea parties are the go! Or he could make you ‘dinner’, and pretend in his own imagination. Just a thought for when he is a little older ❤️. So excited for you guys! Your going to be great parents :)
i reccomend getting small pack of different diapers and wipes to try them out. there so many brands and everyone (and baby) has different preferences. even as your baby boy grows, you may find different brands work better at different stages
Brooklyn&Bailey i really like watching your videos on your UA-cam channel. I really like that you did UA-cam video of nursery tour for baby boy! Brooklyn’s going to be the best mom💙 motherhood is 100% made for Brooklyn. She’s is glowinggg. Yes do want more pregnancy baby boy content!
That rocking chair would have saved me two years ago! At the end of my pregnancy I would sit in my rocking chair to sleep cause I was uncomfortable laying down! To this day, I start in bed sitting up lol my son is almost 2
i'm obsessed with the nursery! mine is also neutral and gray :) as i'm typing this to make the recommendation, you said it! i HIGHLY recommend adding the keekaroo into the basket. i had a basket as well with a lot of the munchkin pads i'd put on top of the pad inside to help prevent stains, but it didn't end up being super sustainable. we ended up buying the keekaroo when my little guy was around 3-4 months maybe? and put it inside and it was a game changer
Lowering it is not so they can’t climb out lol it’s so they don’t fall out when they learn to stand. Wait till you see a baby climb out of the lowered crib. You’ll be shocked. lol and in for the next journey of mommy hood. My favorite part is the cowboy hat wall.
I'm sorry but if the crib weren't there you wouldn't know that this is a room for a baby, this room is designed for the mama, not the baby and I'm sad that has become a trend called sad beige aesthetic. There is nothing in there to stimulate baby boys eyes like bright colors and cute colorful patterns. I hope as he ages you'll think less about your personal aesthetics and more about making it fun and playful room for him to live in.
I was thinking the same thing! Baby development is so important and personally I made sure to have plenty of cute colors, pictures, designs... I've noticed a trend of very minimalist baby rooms. I'm glad I'm not the only one who though this. However, it is the parents choice and as long as they love it... But yes, I know where you're coming from ❤
Nursery is so cuuuuute! Y’all are going to be great parents 💙 I just had my second baby, a boy. the Kirkland diapers are the only brand he doesn’t pee through. the Kirkland diapers & wipes are the best!
Super cute room! I definitely agree with moving the hats though-if they fall they could smother baby :( We don’t have anything over our son’s crib because you just never know. And cubes for storage has helped us greatly! We also got bags and a vacuum sealer, and labeled them with sharpie before he was born. They grow so quickly, and you are constantly changing out sizes. It’s annoying and exhausting😂 Our big little guy was in 0 to 3 months from the get-go and at 10 months old was in 3T clothes and size 7 diapers. Definitely wasn’t expecting that!
I can’t wait for little man to get here! The day you go into labor in the birth vlog I will be like Bailey and BAWL! So yeah. Your nursery is SUPER CUTE! Oh and I had a diaper Gene with my daughter and it helped the smell A LOT! Even though I’m not an auntie to this baby IRL I feel like I am through the internet! I am just so excited for y’all and I’m praying for little man’s safe arrival! Oh and if you go into labor at 37 weeks and I’m just saying it’s ok it’s close to 40 weeks which means he’ll be full term if he DID come at 37 weeks. Oh and I would have help IF POSSIBLE! So please allow that. But i can’t wait for baby boy and see Dakota’s TWIN! Congrats guys!💙🩵
I love the nursery, I don't mean to be picky or mean, but the hats above the babies cot worry me, they could fall down or be pulled down and easily smother a baby.
motherhood is 100% made for brooklyn. she's glowinggg

But yes, I know where you're coming from ❤
Everything is so cute and I LOVEEEE THE WALLPAPER it's so pretty
The baby room is so unique and cute!!! 🤠 so excited to see the baby boy 🎉🎉 congrats again brooklyn and dakota!!
Love those hats!!!
I’ve been waiting!!!!! Still congratulations Brooklyn and Dakota❤❤
The shelf above the diaper changing station is going to be really inconvenient and dangerous when you start to stand the baby up
Fair warning with the super nice push soft chair…if you plan on nursing in it, baby spit up and or breast milk WILL get everywhere 😊
Nursery is so cuuuuute! Y’all are going to be great parents 💙
I just had my second baby, a boy. the Kirkland diapers are the only brand he doesn’t pee through. the Kirkland diapers & wipes are the best!
you’re gonna be a great mama!
Omggg I'm so excited for you guys!! ❤❤
