Click the little Keyboard Icon on the top left on your Ableton screen, than left click on the record button. Press r on your keyboard and click on the keyboard icon again. Here you go🤘🏾

I have a Macbook pro, OBS a Scarlett 2i2 Interface and a Rode mic. I'm struggling to configure everything and get a quality production like this, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I know I'm not that well-versed on this style of music but I wasn't getting anything from the 808 tracks...were they mixed really low?
You likely weren't listening to it on a speaker system that can pick up that low of frequency

Could somebody dumb down what's happening in regards to "mic" vs. "guitar" recording? Is he basically recording twice through different inputs? Like the cable connected to the guitar & the laptop?
Jae J year its an electric acoustic guitar that’s plugged in, and then I put a mic in front of it. Both signals get recorded separately

Highlight some tracks and hit command G to group them. To quantize them hit command U
Seconded on this. I know maybe I'm the intended audience- complete ableton newb - but there was some stuff I was interested in.
Like chopping out the first bit of audio from your guitar take, assume that was command e to split then delete?
Also I wanted to know how to cut and manipulate audio like you did with the 'bongos' but not quite sure what you did. Looks like you chopped it up - command e again? - but then when you moved it around you were stretching it out. Is that using warp modes? Does that not make the beat change that you stretched it out?
Is it just me, or the 808 sounded out of tune?
