Argentino here and I whole heartedly agree that Rosamonte is top notch (just had some myself) ! Also, glad you’re spreading your knowledge and the word about the amazing drink that is Mate, so thank you!
Great review as usual! I'm from Brazil and another adjective to describe the flavor of this yerba is "leathery". But you were spot on on your description. I like your detailed way of analyzing the taste of the yerbas. Always nice to watch your work. Keep it up!
I appreciate that! 🙏 Thank you for your support! 'Leathery' is definitely a unique way of putting it. I will add that to my lexicon for future reviews 😆
I LOVE this yerba mate! When I try new mates it usually takes me a time or two to get used to the flavor profile but when I first tried this one I thought, "this is what I have been looking for in a mate!" I've been drinking this one for about a year and I agree with the adjective of "deep" flavors. The best way I knew how to describe it was like wet fall leaves (in the best way possible) and it had a raisin like quality and flavor to it as well. Unfortunately, the past two orders I got were not as good they were lighter in body and flavor and almost had a "sour" taste to them. Not sure if it was a bad crop or if anyone else had this experience but I'm hoping the next time I buy it will be back to the usual flavor profile. A solid 9.8 for sure! Salud!
Glad to hear you also enjoy this yerba. It does suck that you have received two bad batches, though. Hopefully the others will be better 😃. Are there any other yerbas you like or would recommend to others?
@@yerbatravels I actually just ordered some Canarias because of one of your videos. I've tried Playadito and thought it was pretty good. I've tried CBSe Orange and enjoyed that so I'd like to try more from that company. If anyone is looking to get into erva mate (Brazilian style) I highly enjoyed Cultyvada Medium Cut (Moida Grossa). But Rosamonte Especial is my "go to" for sure!
@matthewsurprenant2386 all good vibes coming from that post!!! I agree 💯 with everything you said. I have also tried Ximango and liked it. It's still a bit difficult for me to prepare, though. I want to try more ervas, and Cultyvada is on my list. Thanks for that recommendation 👍
just getting into yerba here, kinda of debating getting some rosamonte after im close to finishing up my cruz de malta. but besides those two, id love to see a review on Piporé Con Palo, as ive seen some interesting written reviews but could not find any video reviews (in english). your channel's great by the way and i love how honesty your reviews are; also factoring in youre one of the few english channels mosty deticated to yerba reviews. keep it up 👍.
@boozy444 I appreciate that! Thanks for the love! I am hoping to get some Pipore soon. Will do a review when I get it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Since I tried this yerba I have never could change to any other brand. I drink Rosamonte Special Selection every day. In my experience prepare a uruguayan yerba is totally different than an argentinian one, you can use warmer water (until 80 celcius) because bigger particles extract slower.
@dihasr8487 great question! I, too, enjoy black coffee. For me, I would recommend Rosamonte Especial or a Babacua like Isondu Barbacua. These are not a bitter as black coffee, but provide great flavor and lots of energy. I would love to hear your thoughts on either of these if you try some.
Hi, I like your reviews but either way I dont know which couple to pick, I wanna start mate and I plan to buy 3 different brands to start me of. Now I would appreciate if you could advise me? I usually love and drink coffee and various black and oolong teas as I like such tastes so I am not unfamiliar with bitterness. Thanks!
First off, I love the UA-cam handle - you menace!!! 😃 It sounds like you enjoy the strong bitter tastes. As do I! Here are a couple that I would recommend: 1. Typical yerbas - Playadito , Cruz de Malta, or Amanda. 2. Bold taste - Rosamonte Especial, Isondu Barbacua, La Merced (de Campo or barbacua) 3. Balanced - Anna Park, Isondu organic or traditional, Porongo 4. Sweet - CBSé orange or Dulce Misionerita Personally, I recommend Rosamonte Especial, La Merced, and Anna Park. Hope this helps. I'd love to hear what you go with and your thoughts or reactions, too. 🧉
@@yerbatravels Thanks! Well I ended up ordering del cebador, rosamonte suave, playadito, sara azul extra suave and canarias. After doing a bit of research these sounded as something I might like, do you have any experience with them?

I've seen Messi drinking Mate...so I will give it a shot! Thank you for your recommendation blessings
I’ll have to buy this this week
I got that one here at home, also the premium version. Playadito is algo a big name in argentinian yerba.
Will you try kraus bright yellow lemon yellow bag unsmoked air dried

@@yerbatravels I was going to say the same about Piporé, it has also a number of varieties
I think its woodsy, earthy, sweet with slight fruit notes. I also get bread/sunflower seeds
Sunflower seed - that's a good one. I can see how you get that.

It's also in my top yerbas! It's funny how different people prepare yerba mate. I will be making a video about this soon :)
Which one you think that tastes better, this Rosamonte or Cruz de Malta?
For me... Rosamonte. It's one of my favorites!
