@@staydown4boWe know we eat with our hands. We just don't eat foods like egg, rice, mashed potatoes, pasta, beans/peas, soups, certain meats, etc. with our hands, especially in a formal setting. Your hands can get soiled and dirty real quick, which we simply do not like. Finger food, on the other hand, may be difficult to eat with utensils, thus the need for hands. Finger foods (not all) typically have some sort of encasing that makes it easier to hold and eat without the mess (i.e., sliced bread, buns, taco shells, pizza crust, pita bread). Others we eat on a stick, for instance kebobs. But yeah, we find it strange to see people that do eat those foods with their hands, granted they use some type of bread to pick up the food, it's still very strange.

American BBQ, smoked meats and the vast array of side dishes that accompany them, remain one of only a handful of truly American Cuisines. There's plenty of global influence to the flavors and seasonings, but the long, slow cooking technique using hard woods and charcoal is one of the world's most unique and delicious culinary contributions. My absolute favorite food preparation method. I'm very proud that you were able to try it and that it was well-liked. I hope you are able to visit the United Sates and taste it here someday because we do it very well.

Taking a leap here, but I am thinking they all could do a version of low and slow with the animals they routinely feast. I know pork is forbidden--so many of our pork recipes--pulled pork, and other versions are so tasty as well. Have been thinking about Hawaiian pork too. Maybe some of our stews would be tasty too--since we are moving into fall--I know I am starting to get a craving. Food is the universal language--really. Love the sharing.

I think all Texans will concur with this statement. So happy to see people of another culture enjoying BBQ for the first time. I hope they get to enjoy it again but want them to know there is much more to BBQ as it varies based on region in the USA. Kansas tends to sauce the meat to be more sweet, Tennessee prefers to smoke pork, Kentucky does lamb, ect. Maybe these gentlemen could try a range of bbq from the different regions? Looks like what they sampled were the BBQ staples of Texas. Arguably the best but I’m biased. Blessings from Dallas, Texas, USA.

slow mesquite smoked brisket is the best, add a sweet n spicy BBQ sauce, is pure heaven. this made my mouth water.
I miss my grandma's recipe for BBQ sauce she let it simmer in the smoker with the beef gave it a nice smokey flavor and smothered the brisket with it till it was nice and sticky. When i grew up I learned it was her grand mothers recipe and it was a blue ribbon winner in Texas.

Here in Texas, Burnt Ends are sometimes called “meat candy”, with good reason. You can set out a big dish of burnt ends and people will eat them like candy.

Nice and tender.Texas BBQ Brisket that I ate was served with a dark spicy sauce on the side, not too sweet.Pulled meat was mixed with the same sauce and served on a bun.Cole Slaw is one option as a side, though that's better with fried catfish .BBQ usually had potato salad.True BBQ is cooked a long time with good smelling wood at relatively low heat to get he smokiness to penetrate.Burnt Ends are a delicacy usually only served on certain days and people line up for it.

Turmeric, spices 58 HRS!!! 😮Not even my Texas cooks BBQ that long, but it looks good. My respects to the chef that cooked for 58hrs. I have smoked brisket, and 16 hours is the longest time I've ever cooked, I want to know what coal or wood they used that last 58hrs it has to be very tasty meat it looks yummy.

There are people who would fight you for those burnt ends. Barbecue is almost a religious experience in the US. Different regions have different tasting barbecue and sauces. Myself I get heartburn from the taste of the char. People love it though and spend $1000s for a good smoker. Low and slow wins every time.

Makes me very happy that they tried this!! Hopefully, they can make the ones they like the most in their homes - because the joy of Texas BBQ is that the ingredients are simple and available - you need charcoal and beef (and not even the expensive cuts of beef) to make it delicious at home. This made me smile all the way through.

I always hope they take some pointers from the dishes they try home, they absolutely could cook some great BBQ with ingredients they probably already own, and even put some local flare to it. Some curry on a brisket sounds amazing.

I make a North Carolina style pulled pork. You put that on a good Brioche bun with some of my mom's homemade turnip slaw and my spicy North Caroline style bbq sauce. OMG tongue smack your brain to death taste so good! And yes, it does take that many hours.
First day I rub kosher salt on the pork butt and let it sit in the frig for 24 hours. Second day I wipe down the pork butt then add my spice mix generously and let it sit another 24 hours. The third night I set up either a smoker or use my oven. If I use my oven, after I wipe down pork butt after the first day I rub some liquid smoke on it before I put on the rub. Then it goes in at 225°or 107°c oven till the internal temp hits 190° to 195°, this can take 12 - 16+ hours depending on the size of the pork butt. Pull it out, wrap it up, let it sit for at least 30 mins. Pull apart, add some NC style bbq sauce. Enjoy!
