The funny part is, here in Canada Niagara Falls sold out their hotel rooms just for this and called a state of emergency just in case. The clouds blocked everything so what a waste of money lol.
My wife and I drove 600 kilometers east of Toronto to view this eclipse, trying to escape the approaching clouds, because that seemed a better option then waiting 120 years for the next one.😉
We flew from Maryland to Indianapolis and watched it with friends we hadn't seen in a few years, at a park a few blocks from their house. In 2017 we drove out to Nebraska. Perfect weather both times.

I live in the most western tip of Western Kentucky and it looks like we are going to have less cloud cover than most of the country. It’s not going to be completely clear but what clouds we do have are going to be patchy and thin. I feel bad for the people that are traveling hundreds or thousands of miles to see the eclipse in places where they won’t actually be able to see it.
The thing that nobody was saying is that the clouds completely disapate b4 the total eclipse... even where i live, there was almost complete totality and all the clouds disappate... i remember watching people talk about it last eclipse

Hello, Haley's Comet approached us on a less than ideal path. More of a head on path like watching an approaching train from the center of the tracks. It was barely a small wisp of a cotton ball looking phenomenon. In the past there have been citizens that lived to see Haley's twice in their lifetime, I hope the next approach displays more of the tail. i took my kids out of town early in the morning to see it. I know the youngest had little clue as to what I was talking about. Possibly thinking that I had gone nuts. It's possible they may see it a second time.

Went outside right after watching our astronauts land on the moon so we 0:35 could gaze up at the moon in awe that they were actually ON it; it was overcast and we couldn’t even see the moon!😢😅

You drove the right direction; out west of the city only the lucky ones found a clear patch during totality. So did it work? South shore of Montreal?
