Im 65,dont play a lot,bit more this year,just hit 90 club speed,my goal is 140 ball speed.Great video.
Thanks for watching! Those are great numbers?! Do you train for speed ever?
I have done, but not lately, weather is awefull here at the moment,so no golf.@@golfsciencelab
140 ball speed at 65 would be absolutely great!! But I guess you need to be already an athlete or anyway train frequently at gym otherwise I dont see it possible ^^ Good luck friend!
It should have read 90 club speed,i had to look at it twice. 🙂🙂@@mariooo88
@@mariooo88im 25 and my maximum ball speed is only about 135. Yea im pitiful i know go ahead and make fun of me
I've been doing Rypstick combined with Fit For Golf strength training this year (age 63) and I've gotten up to 94 mph CHS (I was at 80 pre-training) on Rypradar, but my best actually hitting balls is 92 mph. Best ball speed I can recall was 126. I've had to be careful with the training because it tends to aggravate an old shoulder injury. My goal is to get to 100 CHS, shoulder permitting.
Nice work Jeff! Keep up the progress and sounds like you might need to seriously work on that shoulder.
9:50 that's the simple truth. Guy on the right is big and strong, you can't give his same swing to a physical body like the golfer on the left, it just wont work!! You need serious muscles to go so high in the backswin AND keep it wide. Because if you dont keep it wide, then it will just create more speed if you do less backswing. There's a point of diminishing returns for a backswing and every player must find out his personal one to create maximum possible speed for his body.
i have a 47" callaway rogue... set at 9.5 degrees... my clubhead speed is about 98-99 with that... my carry is about 210yds it has been going up though, i just started playing golf two months ago....
Ok now my swing is 100-102... and my carry is 250.... I just hit it in the sweet spot a lot more now, and now I hit a slight draw instead of a slice.... hahaha
How often should you work on these speed swings? Would you consider it almost a workout?
you need to give your CNS 48 hours to recover. That's the main thing
297 carry, acceptable I guess.
That was impressive to go from 115 to 125 in such a short time frame and number of swings, well done
That big guy is not just big, he’s huge. How about accuracy maintenance with this routine. How about if you are senior golfer with less mobility and flexibility?
Check out the last video where we go through his training routine! The warm up and speed training are totally applicable to all ages.
You should test the mlm2 pro on what's the max speed that it can handle
Seb went on it and got some club head speed numbers around 150mph. It can definitely go high!
I’m 56 and use a Ryp Stick. Started using it Dec 3, have gained 10 mph. Hoping to keep increasing but feels like I have peaked for a bit.
One thing i do like is seeing good speed increases with the more weights I add.
Wow that’s amazing!!! Keep up the training!!
How’s your consistency?
Wow. 10 MPH equates w an extra 25 yards. Is that what you’re getting w the rip stick?
3:43 that is because you are right eye dominant. If you're right eye dominant you're at a disadvantage and can't turn as much without losing sight of the ball.
That's a good insight! Hadn't thought of that!
@@golfsciencelab something like 80 percent of tour pros are either cross-eye dominant or cross-hand dominant.
That's just a myth!! Trust me I've been playing golf for decades... right eye dominant thing is a myth, unless you let the myth take over you then it will be true. But it's not, I can guarantee you the laws that dictate how your body moves dont just count your sight vision.. it goes beyond that, way beyond.
He gained speed with a driver that’s 3in longer? Shocking😂
I’ve gotten just over 130 club head speed a couple times on track man.
Huge turn requires a wider stance for balance. His stance did not change with the bigger turn.
Wider stance doesn't allow huge turn. The wider the stance, the less you can turn!
@@mariooo88 correct if your left heel is planted, hence why they let him lift the left heel. He is way too narrow for the torque of that swing.
Why don't they do these tests on normal players? You know 15 handicap, 95mph club speed. Actually make it so we can relate.
I think it's great there's a decent golfer getting a speed lesson. There's hundreds of instructional videos for golfers who need to learn fundamentals
selfish
there’s nothing to relate, the techniques given apply to everyone.. just like how Seb the long drive guy is teaching someone super slow compared to him, it’s all relative
These techniques are too complicated for the average golfer to perform.
Quit wining ‘average/normal golfers’ this is Golf Science Lab. Watch and learn something, or just stay as you are
I see many roof tops and parking lots😂
What high handicap players dont understood is this. You are trying to increase your baseline swing speed. Your normal shot
No. We get that.
Because you suck
I’m 124 to 128 on the course just can’t lower spin. May have to lower loft to 6.5
Guest we dont need RYPsticks after all. Just our own driver.
So all I need is longer legs, longer arms, wobbly wrists, longer shaft, 4x, 3* and hips that can move. Nothing to it. How many went straight again?
Smooth is fast
Why not use force plates and gears to see what he is actually doing?
We didn't have that tech with us this day! Will have to do sometime in the future.
"force supplied over a longer period of time" ?!! that makes no sense in terms of mechanics or the physics of a golf swing!
Sasho Mackenzie, speed guru, and others have discovered there are 2 ways to be faster. 1) Longer hand path (swing) think John Daly, or 2) greater force applied, like Jon Rahm.
Hmmm…not really understanding the purpose of this video. I’m a Rypstick customer and currently at the end of Level 1 and have gained about 5 mph and I’m happy about that. The guy in this video is obviously swinging out of his shoes and (imo) has lost control of his driver. I’m all about distance but not for losing control. If you’re saying I can create club head speed doing the things I’m seeing in this video what’s the point of getting the Rypstick?
If you can raise your top speed that will also raise your base line speed. I'm at 93 mph swing speed now and working on getting it up to at least 100. When I get there I'll work strike for the "new swing".
Learning how to raise your baseline speed comes first. Then you learn how to control that speed. Of course more speed can lead to a bit of a wider dispersion because you will end up a little more towards the edge of the fairway than a slower ball speed even on the same degree of miss. But its been shown though that the extra distance gained is usually worth it unless you totally lose your swing and are racking up penalty shots instead of just finding a little more rough than before.
I learned that it’s the clubs lol
A long drive driver definitely helps
What’s the low cost gadget that can say how much my club speed is
It's pretty accurate and only $140. Here's a link! rypstick.com/products/rypradar-2-0
If I try to speed up my hands I can get up to 102 mph clubhead speed, but totally no control of the club on the downswing at all and will either glance the ball or hit the ground first with the club. It works fine for these guys, but not for me. I have been golfing for 45 years and have improved, but not what these guys do. I am a strong guy also. I have huge endurance also. This video does not help me at all!☹
There's two parts to the equation. Your ability to swing fast. And then also the ability to strike it int he middle of the club face. Separating those two can be helpful when training.
Looks like you guys were going to scissor stretching out there. Lol
yeah who cares where you hit it as long as you can swing 120
Try a glove
Lol its called warming up for 15 mins
There was a long drive guy at my course playing in front of me and I don’t think he hit any fairways. The 15th is 475 par 4 and he had about 10 swings and missed every time. I had 1 shot and hit the fairway so swinging this fast unless it’s your natural speed is a waste of time
This is far from scientific. In a range, no slow mo, … waste of time
We had a great time and learned some stuff 🤷♂️
Hey, had me watching! Sometimes I prefer low texh
