Good afternoon! Tell me, please, what key did you use to loosen the rails on the seatpost to adjust the saddle? I just can't loosen the rear bolt at all, it just can't be unscrewed...@@pedalpowercycling
I have the G4 LT version of this with firm elastomer on my Giant Talon 29/1 , I weigh 220# . I absolutely LOVE it ! It’s a total game-changer ! I’m able to ride more miles for longer duration with little to no discomfort afterwards. I ride washed out - rutted rail trails only. I highly recommend the Thudglove to protect your pricey new seatpost.
Hugely enjoyable. Thank you for making all the mistakes so we don't have to. As I would like to be as efficient as you are, will I need two wrist watches?
Yep. I installed my seat backwards on the post, making the post facing backwards when the seat was facing forward. Took me a few rides to figure out what was going on. My seat connecting apparatus is different from yours, and even more awkward to connect, but it of course works the same.
I like it a lot but prefer the LT version since it's even more comfy. You have to measure your seatpost to see if the LT version fits or if you're okay with ST.
Is there any point combining crane creek thudbuster with existing short travel rear shock. I'm thinking crane creek to absorb small bumps and stiffer rear shock kick in after elastomer bottoms out. Should I just upgrade cheap stock rear shock? I'm trying to keep the bike compact while folded. It's already a tight squeeze fitting it in the back if my hatchback.
I think it'll help if you want more suspension. I haven't tried it on my Santa Cruz Tallboy with 100mm rear travel. I do prefer the LT version of this seatpost.
That was kind of pain in the ass to change the elastomer. It looks like the newest versions of the crane creek ones are tool free which would be a huge plus.
When I bought this, it was on clearance making room for the new ones. With a huge discount, and with little or no functionality improvement over other versions, I've been using this (older) version just fine.
It's okay to grease it. But you don't have to. Choice is up to you. This is an aluminum post not carbon. www.velonews.com/gear/technical-qa-with-lennard-zinn-more-greased-carbon/
It works for me, the LT version really works a lot better. Have you tried different elastomers to accommodate your proper weight? I paid my own money for this and am not sponsored by anyone.
I appreciate that you didn’t hide your mistakes making this a true learning video. Thanks so much.
Some folks need directions for a rocking chair 😂
Nice video sir

😆 @ 8:59, you almost said it and figured it out...those "pivot areas are the pivot washers, just all attached. Hepful video, thank! 👍

You're welcome Yes, you need two watches to go with two different phones. 😉
Thank you so much! this video was really helpful
You're welcome! I like my LT long travel seatpost a little more if you're debating between the two. Just make sure you have enough clearance.

Thanks for subscribing, the kind comment, and I'm glad you figured it out! What bike did you put your seatpost on?
THVM konečne som pochopil. Stačilo obrátiť ten elastomer. 👍👍👍
Great review thanks a lot!
Helpful video..ty
Thanks for sharing
You're welcome Joms. I appreciate the kind comment!
Thanks for showing the process, mistakes and all. Do you like how the seatpost works for you? I am thinking of betting one.

Can you adjust the tilt angle for this seat post? I can’t seem to adjust mine
Yes there's a black knob above the elastomer and you also have to use the allen key bolt behind the suspension.
How does this compare to a seat with springs?
I don't have a seat with springs but a recent video I released is a universal suspension seatpost and this is much nicer.
@@pedalpowercycling thanks for review. Roads here are just cracks everywhere.
@@recyclespinning9839 You're welcome, if roads are real bad get the LT version if it fits. I have an overview of that seatpost as well.
guessing this is a gen3. gen4 can do 330lbs. I'm fat so need the gen4
It's not the latest gen and was on sale since the newest version came out.
have the same, it is a stupid design, pain in the a.., angling the saddle is also not working well
No grease on clamping parts ... 🙄

Fuking hilarios 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I still prefer my sr suntour sp12 ncx don't like elastomers...
I'll have to compare the two since they both have the same travel, 50mm.
It would have went a lot quicker with and added stopwatch!
I could see many folks screwing this up royally!
Yep! I don't have experience with the new designed but it has since been redesigned.
Sorry for the comment...but I would have thrown that in the trash...very complicated...
Just put one on bikes. Totally worthless. Ouch. Advertising ain’t honest. They send this crap out to “influencers” who lie.
