- We are still in Bintulu, not doing too much. But we do have to try the Indian Halal food here as in Sarawak you do not find it so often like in peninsular Malaysia. Indian food mostly being very good and Muslim being mostly being good there is almost no way that you will do something wrong when putting them together. So let´s go for a late breakfast or a early lunch and have something in between... maybe like a brunch.

Oh wow, it's quite surprising to know the meal for the whole family is only RM23...very reasonable and affordable. Those roti canai are big and it costs only RM1.20 per piece. ohh...as a rule, people TEND to eat nasik campur with hands. whereas, if one orders ala-cartē eg nasi goreng, mee goreng, we TEND to use spoon & fork. Or maybe, females (with painted nails & rings & ornament stuff) TEND prefer to eat rice with cutlery.

Most of us sarawakian eat using fork and spoon, it is our culture....we also use chop stik and its common thing you see at malay restaurant...
Very strange, in peninsular Malaysia most malays will ear with their hands.

Sabahan also mainly use spoon and fork while eating out; restaurant, wedding reception, thanksgiving (kenduri) etc. I'm not quite sure why but I have done that since childhood.

You shouldn't miss BIDIN (fern veg). ... in Sarawak. It's a "only in Sarawak" dish. The other "only in Sarawak" dish is DURIAN FLOWER but this one is seasonal.

Your comments about Muslim foods never dissapoint you is nice to hear. Maybe because of their halal status or the combinationns of spices or for instance Malay foods with the emphasis on chillies and coconut milk is good ingredients

5:33 It's about preference really. I bet they still eat with hands at home. I know we do. Also... the Muslims you see around you aren't all Malays. The Muslims in Bintulu consists mostly of Melanau (Vaie sub-ethnic, Muslims Melanau), Penans & some Punans.
10:00 You keep saying "Malay"... chances are those aren't Malay but most probably one of the local indigenous people who are Muslims. Muslims in Sarawak aren't always Malays, you know.

We eat with our hands , providing they provide the water pot for hands washing, otherwise we just use the fork n spoon.
Well, I noticed in Sarawak a lot more people eat with fork and spoon than in peninsular Malaysia.
