- Since we are not doing much today we decided to find out one thing about Borneo, about Sarawak, about all of Malaysia: Why do the locals love KFC so much? It is actually the second most selling western fast food chain in all of Malaysia, now there you go. So on this fine afternoon we walked into the KFC (we already did a Mc Donald's video) and tried to find out and even that was a miracle as we originally planned another video in another fast food joint but I will explain in the video. However, we did order a bunch of foods and tried those foods. Were they fulfilling? Do we feel more Malaysian now? Mor Sarawakian? Naaaah, let's watch the video and find out. We generally do not support fast food joints as this is basically poison but the kind of poison you can survive if you do not eat it too often. And it is a good indicator to compare certain foods around the globe. But any, please watch the video from the beginning to the end without skipping and we will be happy.

Most malaysian kids grow up with kfc. They used to be much better in the 90s. Now i still have it once in a while for the nostalgia, but need to know which branch is good, because some of them are just superbad. On the straw - power of the pic of straw stuck in a turtle’s nose - people feel guilty and blindly banning straw without any real basis or objective.
Yes, I agree on the straw subject. It is so weird, there are so many things to ban before...
What a great meal at KFC ! Happy to see everyone enjoy the food. Aah, it's alright to have fast food once in a while. Kids will surely love it.

Most of us malaysians grew up eating kfc during our childhood. Although I don't eat kfc as much as I do now compared to my youth, whenever ie eat kfc, it will always bring the nostalgia of growing up in the 80s and high school years in the 90s. Kfc was my usual hangout spot after Friday prayer in the early to mid 90s because it's near to the masjid. I'm sure to those who are born much later, they also experience the same nostalgic moments with kfc.

@@yvesthesleeve we don't have much back then, childhood fast food treats started with a&w in the 60s, kfc in the 70s and mcd in the 80s. There are other fast food chains back then but most of them had closed down. Anyway if you go to sungai petani, check out mcdota fried chicken. The outlet was older than mcds first malaysian outlet. Currently there are only 2 mcdota outlets left in malaysia.
In many Malaysian homes KFC is the go-to food when mum has her off days and in no mood to prepare meals.

Look for sugarbun in Sarawak. Very famous local fast food chain. Only in Sarawak.

That's my favorite KFC in Bintulu. Their Zinger Burger is very large compared to other KFC in Miri.
The Zinger Burger really was pretty good.

I never understood fried chicken in a bun. If I have chicken in a bun, I have grilled chicken with lettuce and tomato and spicy barbecue sauce. When I eat fried chicken, I eat fried chicken, plain and simple. No waffles involved either! 😊
That porridge is interesting. I think I’d want to put some green beans or some other vegetable in it though.

Go try kampua at pasar medan, opposite of MDS Supermarket, in your area, really recommend you that taste guys!

I remembered going to the KFC in Miri around 8pm. And when asked, they said they're out of chicken. So what are you selling then? lizard goreng? they only have colonel burger at that time. weird.

@@yvesthesleeve I have traveled to more then 60 countries, I have tried as many KFC as I could find in all those countries, and I found that it’s true, Malaysian is one of the best. At least it’s true 10 years ago. Now I live in London for the last 33years, I hardly go to KFC here in London!
I gotta say Malaysian KFC taste way better than the US KFC...after a few years,.I only patronize mo m and pop independent fried chicken shop here in the US.
