    Noticed in the manual,It said to check bolts due to some becoming loose.Love mine.Will check bolts after what you said.Everything you have said is definitely true.Tire pressure is very important.Running mine at 12 psi now.Great presentation.You made me think about things I need to check.Thanks for the video.

    Love the video, especially with SCOOTER, the dog lurking around and sitting on the driver seat. Very cute.

    They''re flimsy but the Kohler motors are good. After 300 hours I just ordered a new left side hydrostat at a cost of 486.00 from sears online. The left side wouldn't keep up with the right after it got warmed up, is why I replaced it.

    12" bungee, drill hole about 2" from outer lip and hook there and lift shoot and hook other end in depth adjustment area. It still keeps you from getting hit with grass and is out of the way.

    Great video, have the exact same mower with the same engine, mines about 4 years old now. Didn't have any problems with it yet. I do use either the STP 3614, or Fram 3614 oil filter, same as in my Tacoma truck. Sure alot cheaper than the Kohler filters from Lowe's. I'm going to trim down my chute like you did, thanks !

    you could easily modify the discharge Shute by cutting it down some.

  • @grasspro104
    @grasspro104 6 років тому +1

    First thing I would do if that was mine is cut that piece of metal blocking the discharge chute. I'd cut it off but fabricate it so I could bolt it back up if I ever needed it for bagging or what ever reason it's needed.

      @Powertool1990  6 років тому

      Grasspro if I didn't use the discharge block off for mulching, I'd probably do that. But it has to be there to hold the plastic discharge block. Hasn't caused any issues for me with it being there.

    I cut a 15 acres community every other weeks using the same lawn mower. The mower moving speed slows down and I have to get it fixed. I was told it’s something about “drive idle pulley”? I was also told that there maybe a 2nd drive belt for the wheels. I don’t seem to be able to find the 2nd belt and if the 2nd belt is damaged thus making the mower moving slow. My question are 1) how do I get this mower run fast again? 2) what kind of blades are good for sandy soil lawn? Where can I get them? Thank you. Enjoy the video.

    What is that plastic knobs on left side near Emergency brake for. There is only one and mine is frozen. It is right behind your left leg when sitting in the seat. Thank you, Cliff

    • @Powertool1990
      @Powertool1990  Рік тому

      That is for your tracking. If your mower is pulling one way or the other you can adjust the knob to slow/speed up that side transmission to match and track in a straight line.

    Sir can you show the pulley install that the idler pulley connects to? Having trouble with idler pulley coming loose since I replaced the adjoing pulley

  • @04mysticsnake

    Any problems with deck belt idler pulley? The one that has the spring attached to the arm?

    • @Powertool1990
      @Powertool1990  7 років тому

      04mysticsnake no problems as of about 110 hours. Everything is original besides the choke cable (which I had to replace around 90 hours, it got stiff and hard to pull up) everything else is going strong.

    • @04mysticsnake
      @04mysticsnake 7 років тому +1

      I have right at 50 hrs and have had nothing but problems with the spring loaded tensior. It's a stiff spring but it kinda seems like it stretches and let's the whole pulley start slapping back and forth.

    • @Powertool1990
      @Powertool1990  7 років тому

      04mysticsnake that's odd. Have you replaced the spring or anything? I haven't noticed any excessive pulley slap on my deck, it all seems to run smooth. That idler will move back and forth, does it move to the point of throwing the deck belt off or vibrating heavily?

    • @04mysticsnake
      @04mysticsnake 7 років тому

      It was slapping pretty bad and I got a shorter spring to hopefully tighten the slap up but it's loose again. It has thrown the belt once before

      Check to make sure your drive belt isn't broken. The drive belt drives the hydro pumps. Also both pumps have a hydrostatic release behind the pump toward the rear, make sure they are both engaged in the drive position

    • @Powertool1990
      @Powertool1990  5 років тому

      That's interesting, you shouldn't be able to start it without parking brake applied which would definitely prevent it from moving. I have had mine drift forward or backwards with park Brake off, if my sticks aren't centered properly but it doesn't happen often.

    How do you take the carb off.. I need to try to clean it can't get it to start but if I spray carb cleaner in the carb it will start then stop.. gas pump is fine.. someone left old gas in it and I think it gummed up Carb. I tried seafoam got it started then I tried to start the next day and I could not start.. fun stuff.. You have any other suggestion to unclog the carburetor.

    Cut 3-5 inches of that deck chute. Them Kohler Courage motors are known for being lemons. You'll be lucky if you make it to 500 hours !! Kohler are good motors !! It's just the Courage ones that don't last.

    • @Powertool1990
      @Powertool1990  7 років тому +1

      I have cut the discharge chute since this video, made a big difference. I've worked on a bunch of Kohler's over the years, the single cylinder Courage is junk but the twin cylinders seem to hold up well. Nothing like the Command though, those things never quit haha

    I have the exact same mower. Is has had nothing but problems with it. Initially turned out to be the wiring harness was faulty. With less than 50 hours used on it, it is been in the shop six times. When it runs, it runs great. The comments with regards to the assembly are spot on.
    Now, the engine runs great but it will not move. The drive train is engaged. Any ideas?

    • @Powertool1990
      @Powertool1990  7 років тому

      John HoffmAn mine has just over 100 hours now and has still had no issues. There is a drive belt that spins the pumps to move the wheels, check under the seat to and see if you can check the pump belt from above. If the belt is still there, make sure the pump release handles are pushed in and so the pumps engage. Let me know what you find. Also how many hours do you have on yours?

    Just curious, I was told by a dealer that Husqvarna does not support their mowers past the warranty period with parts. Have you had any issues with getting parts? Also, loved the video.

    • @Powertool1990
      @Powertool1990  4 роки тому +2

      That doesn't make any sense. I work for a truck dealership and majority of our shops profit comes from parts sales. I don't think husqvarna would want to miss out on that. I've personally had no problem getting parts from my local husqvarna dealer and nothing I worked on was under warranty.

      @@Powertool1990 Thanks for the quick reply. I thought that might have been the dealer trying to steer me to a more expensive mower. I was looking at the Z242F and he wanted me to buy a Gravely that cost about $500 more.

    are the Kawasaki engines good in these? how about gravely? thought about getting a gravely zt 42 or husq z246

    • @Powertool1990
      @Powertool1990  7 років тому

      Phil C I don't have much experience with Gravely, from what I've seen it the commercial equipment seems built great. The Kawasaki engines are considered the top of the line option, typically most commercial equipment has Kawasaki because they tend to have a longer life expectancy and more reliable. I've never had any issues with my twin cylinder Kohler's, they're tough too. I've seen some issues with the single cylinder Kohler but I've had no complaints out of Kohler.

    *My yard consists of roughly 3.5 acres of "mowable" area with several small hills 🌾🌾 **allabout.wiki/Z254** and valleys and tree-beds scattered throughout. Not only did the mower do a great job, but at the end of cutting the entire lawn, I STILL had 35% left on the battery.*
