  • Zbrush Sculpting Tutorial for Beginners Series - Organic & Hard-Surface T-Rex 1080p HD
In this Zbrush Sculpting Tutorial for beginners you will learn how to sculpt a T-Rex Dinosaur with some mechanical parts.
This Tutorial series is aimed at beginners so it assumes that you have no or little experience in using Zbrush.
You will be covering basics at the beginning of each part of the tutorial before moving onto more advanced techniques. Repeating parts of this series is time-lapsed to save time. All the techniques that are used through the time-lapse phases are explained at the beginning of the video so you should have no problems following along.
Through the time-lapse parts, your instructor Max will commentate general tips and explain some theory behind his sculpting technique.

Hy, how do you change so easily your brush ? When I use it, I have to go look for them by pressing B and choosing other letters, it takes so much time ! Do you know the letters by heart or do you use something else ? Thanks you so much for your video very interesting !

Just wondering while watching are you using a mouse or a tablet to sculpt this.

I've been following along and at about 5 minutes in the artist erases one arm but no the other. I don't understand how he did it and I can't replicate the results in my own model. Most of this tutorial is really helpful, but sometimes it glosses over important details that beginners like me don't understand at all.

He turns off the symmetry by pressing x. Then he holds ctrl+shift while selecting one arm and hides the other

Thanks for this tutorial. I'm new with Maya and Z-brush :)
I want to know, to create a character for animation use, is it best to begin in maya by creating a basic shape and then import it to Zbrush for refining like the other tutorials on youtybe, or can one just start strait on modeling in Zbrush (like you're tutorial here) and use the finish sculpted model for animation use in Maya? I don't know if it's the personal workflow of the artist or is there a reason for it.
Apologies for the confusing question but as i said, I'm new at this, thanks!

K Schoeman Its better to sculpt it in Zbrush first and then retopo it in Maya cuz with this amount of polygons you will render the animation for years :DD

10:39 The reason Tyrannosaurus rex had such small arms is to compensate for the huge head. The hind legs are the pivotal point, as in any bipedal dinosaur, and the front end needs to be balanced with the back end. If you enlarge the arms, it goes out of balance. You may be ok with that, but it depends on the project you are on.

"their arms are very weak" HAHA
    oh boy, thats funny
but seriously if you had tyrannosaurus arms you would be the stronger than the strongest human ever
