Just a little tip, instead of cutting out little squares for the wheel caps, you can use silly putty - it works really well. Thanks for the video, great tutorial. I might customize my models after seeing this.

Nice Video! I just bought my first diecast car. It is the 2009 Nissan Skyline GT-R from Bburago. I have a lot of plans on customizing my car but I dont know how remove the steering wheel when I unscrew the chassis. Thanks for this. This is helpful :)
The Windows and the inside part of the door (the plastic part) pop out easily and when the door parts pop out the side mirrors also come out, the Windows pop out extremely easily, it really feels like your going to break it but trust me your not, other wise great video!

Pro tip buy some 3m blue fine line and when you mask leave a space then use the fine line for your final hard line and after your done clearing pull your fine line while wet and you'll get perfect clean lines. I just adapt the crap I do in a body shop to doing models and it works just the same.

I customized a car as well it was a red motormax 1958 Plymouth fury and recolored anything gold to silver (not the emblem in the front however) removed the antennas filled the holes gave it a White roof recolored the interior and dash board and gave her a new antenna in the front of the car (that's pretty much a 4 week project summed up)

I recommend removing all the windows before spray painting because if the paint somehow gets on them, you’ll need to buy another car just to swap those windows. Happened to me before and it’s a big hassle. If anyone knows how to remove spray paint from the windows without scratching or damaging the plastic or shine, please share. Nail polish also works great for the calipers.
Dont know if still needed. U can try/use some "sticker remover" to remove paint on places where it dont belong. I used this to remove paint from my real car after some mods I did , I got this tip from an old co-worker who polish cars for living. I am pretty sure this also works on diecast models. *Dont use to much and clean the surface well with some degreaser or window cleaner after removing the paint:)
I wish hot wheels made the 488 GTB! I have this car and it looks more like a maisto than a bburago. The axle is to stiff and the engine cover is a thin piece of plastic. The tires don't sit flat they kind of look cambered or whatever that's called.
please suggest or advice that how do I restore my Maisto 1:18 scale old Audi TT's windscreen and headlights because its been blurred and destroyed due to Pest control spray ! please help !
I just got this model two days ago and I'm kinda disappointed because it looks more like a maisto then a bburago. It was fun to customize though. Don't care for the steering wheel axle. Did the seats and some parts of the doors in flat red. Was thinking about doing the rims in gun metal don't know yet though. I wish Auto Art or Hot Wheels had made the 488 GTB.

Maisto made Bburago as a sub brand to rake in more money from other stores. They made this new brand with the intent of sending it to different countries and making more off of those who didn't know what maisto was. It was their way of introducing a low price high quality model to new regions without having to expand production in their existing factories.

use a paint brush dipped in bleach and then another one with paint remover, should work
