I think people forget that the voice is a muscle. It can be trained and stretched and it can get stronger and more flexible. Your singing can definitely improve with practice.
That is exactly how it works.
Most people?
@@HoratioWalls yes
Voice is not a muscle, voice production consists of lots of different aspects (indeed, multiple crucial muscles).
It’s not a muscle man, I love how you want to motivate people but please don’t spread false info like that. It can damage your vocal cord if you treat it like a muscle.
This is AMAZING! I can't sing AT ALL and took my first lesson yesterday. It was so embarrassing, but I love singing so much and this is so inspiring!
It's embarrassing until you realize how short life is, then it's not all that bad😊
Keep going! It will obviously be embarrassing at first but you will be so glad that you started after no time :)
You can do it keep going!
Would love to have this power too 😢
Omg, same! Be very proud of yourself for taking the initiative. I can't wait until I find a good instructor myself. You'll be so amazed at your transformation, I'm sure 😊

Hey Charlie, what exercises you had doing?
It feels so nice to finally see a singing journey from someone who started out sounding not too great. So often it feels like people who are good singers were always naturally talented, and it’s really nice to know that if you work hard and practice you can improve so much. I started singing lessons about 8 months ago and to be honest I sounded pretty terrible when I first started. I still don’t sound great, but I have come a really long way, especially in learning how to properly differentiate between singing in my chest and head voices and working on strengthening them. I can’t wait to see what time will bring as I keep working hard at it
Ed Sheeran has a clip of himself singing his first song and he sounded terrible 😂, just goes to show you can improve!

I'm a professional musician [trombone] for 35 years and running. That it took you ten years to get from where you were to where you are now is par for the course! Just in case anyone tries to put you down because you say the words "Ten Years", I have your back! That's what it takes!!! Many people will scoff at the amount of time it takes to become an artist in singing or instrumental musicianship. Ignore them. They do not know. They have absolutely no idea of the amount of work that has to be put in, nor the level of commitment!!!
Fair play to you! And keep going! You will never stop practicing; you will never stop learning. That's what being an artist in any form is all about!!!

I have been gifted in visual arts, but I've always loved singing and pushing my voice to be able to sing new songs I love. This is so incredibly encouraging. I tell everyone if you want to draw and paint better, practice more and keep at it. I guess i just now realized singing can be the exact same. I always thought you had to be born with a "golden voice".
Thank you 🙏✨
This is the first time I have witnessed perseverance literally transform someone’s voice over time. I wasn’t convinced that it was really possible. I have started and stopped so many times, even though I know it’s doing what you love consistently over time that summons the creative energy. Thank you so much for allowing me to see your transformation. You sound really good. I am so touched by your devotion 🙏✨
Finally someone on YT that didn't sound good in the beginning of these. About time i found an unnatural singer who got good, you give me hope for myself.

This encourages me to sing, I've always wished I could but never had that natural talent... but with vocal training and prayer I will get better day by day year by year :) Thank you for recording your process!
The hardest part actually is that you first have to learn to not be ashamed singing with your current voice, otherwise you'll never reach the level you want.
Huge respect, it must have been very difficult posting those early recordings.
arsenalfanrichi Oof
Fuck Arsenal #GGMU
Not really. Like, yeah, you used to suck but putting out the early recordings just makes his present vocal ability shine out more
Those recent recordings were very raw and real, and quite inspirational. After a little while he started using autotune. He never improved his pitch, only his technique.
Proof that singers are made not born! It takes practice and hard work.
Singing is not hard work, just fun
@@BlackeSmith77 I'm a professional musician, and I can tell you singing is hard work if you are practicing right. If you are just goofing off, anything is "just fun." If you are really trying to improve though, it's hard, stressful, and requires obsessive dedication.
@@bobthabuilda1525 ok, I think make music is funny, be ceo of a company, or engineer is hard.

Thank you for sharing brother. Much love for sticking to it and seeing where it goes. It is ALWAYS a work in progress and we can always continue to develop. I know it must bring you great joy to see where it started and how much everything has unfolded for you since the beginning. I am very grateful that you have shared this video and that I was privileged to find it. Keep being amazing at everything that you do while bringing joy to the lives of others. ❤️❤️❤️
You started breaking the singing curve by 2011. Good on you for hanging in there. The harmony on 3:46 was flawless and gives you cred to be a backup singer.
Always thought singing requires raw talent, never thought it can be trained like you did. Very inspiring!
Of course! Everybody has to start somewhere. That's why when somebody has this great skill, we should look at it as "that person put in a lot of time and effort to achieve that" rather that "oh they were just born amazing".
The opposite is true. The music industry just doesn't want you to know that anybody can do it with enough practice, that would take away the star factor from celebritys
Edit: The guy that I answered to deleted his comment, but I leave it as i wrote it anyway. He kinda said "its not about practice, you either got the talent or you don' even need to try"
you should check out the video where Ed Sheeran shared his voice recording of Him singe when he just started, he sounded so bad, and explained how it’s basically 1% talent and 99% training & work 🙈🙈
Talent is nothing more than just a early boost you can train anything to get better your body your voice playing an instrument painting nobody is truly born and become a complete pro at something
Same! I was born with it so I never thought It can be hard.

I think most people actually won't take 10 years... I think he was trying to demonstrate a rare case. Most people start with alittle more vocal strength... Even in 4 years you see him struggling to hold a note, most people can hold a note probably after 1 year of serious training... At least that's my opinion.

For so many people the desire to sing is powerful but the 'how to get there' is such a mystery. What I think this video really highlights is that it is not one thing (voice lessons, daily practice, training your ear) but it is everything practiced regularly for years. It is tough especially for an adult learner when you're like "wow I always wanted to sing but I waited until I was 30 to invest the time!" it just means your 40's are going to be full of you singing awesome. Thanks for the inspiration to keep going.

*or this proves many people don’t know what good singing is as he still is average.... he lacks emotion as well....if you have to TEACH yourself something fighting the waves of life, it’s not meant to be, especially if it takes 10 years...IMHO*
be diphrent Respectfully disagree. Some people just aren’t exposed to opportunities to learn/experiment certain things when young. Granted someone with natural talent maybe be able make progress in a drastically shorter time frame and/or has a higher level of ability to begin with. Some things may be destined or not, but everyone has a learning curve and can improve.
*opportunities have nothing to do with soul. singing is always directly attached to ones soul. that’s where the talent is derived from. if you’re not born with soul, you can not be taught to have soul. hence why no matter how much training this man has received, he is still 100% emotionless. like I said, he’s still average, but TRAINED, so better than the AVERAGE, average. but still average in terms of real, hardcore talent. it’s nice that those of you who can’t sing get inspired by this, but I guarantee 9/10 people who weren’t born with being able to naturally sing will NEVER create a career or talent out of singing & that’s a FACT!!!!! ever heard of a famous singer who said ; “well actually I’ve never sang growing up & even was horrible, but I got training for 20 years & here I am!” No, they all share how passionate they were & talented they were from a very young age with moments that validated their talent.*

not even 1%

ClassicSpider you got me there lmao 😂
I can hear what I see though.
I must be belonging to the 1% then. But certainly, as you become better, you will also start to look at all aspects of your presentation. Looks and dressing, as well as a reasonable sound and video system, are part of that. For the viewers you can't blame them for prefering a more sophisticated presentation over just a random guy in a t-shirt and a webcam. Actually I think 98% hears the singing transformation and 95% sees his beauty transformation.
Overall I think working on your presentation for most men and many women is a good idea. Some people take it to far and become narcistic, like a beautiful presentation but no content, which is a shame. So I hope he will use his new voice in positive way to improve communication, empathy, understanding and enthousiasm between people.

No - that's being brave. Confidence came to him around 2016-2017
i feel attacked
Lmaaoooo
Courage is doing something despite the fear present. Confidence is trust in yourself that you will do your best to achieve whatever you're doing. Developing a lack of confidence as we age is pretty normal considering how judgemental our culture is, especially for something as vulnerable as singing. So when criticized or called out, we take it personally and that diminishes our confidence, or the trust we have in ourselves to do well. Just gotta rip the bandaid of fear off until courage becomes confidence!
The heck.... You were so bad.
Now you're pretty bloody good.
Early morning here and I could not been more inspired in the wisdom of the words that says “consistency is key to any success”.
Dude you’re such an inspiration been self teaching/learning forever I think it’d be so worth it to invest in lessons
I’ve been practicing for almost 5 years and I’ve improved. People who love singing but don’t have the talent should start practicing!!!!!!!!!!!
How do you even practice? I have no idea where to begin or how...
-
Practice like how? I'm decent now but I wouldn't consider it good. I really want to improve.
Lucero García i’m scared to practice bc i don’t wanna practice he wrong way and ruin my voice?
Lucero García can you help me like how do I practice ?
I sing in my car EVERY single day and can’t wait to be like you
KMS you know thats not enough right?
planned sesion and vocal practice during my 14 hour commute as a tuck driver ill be golden honey
KMS Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.
Get yourself a vocal trainer; Sure, you've got the pipes(and maybe the range), but you've gotta tune them for the organ sound decent. A trainer with regular sessions would be best.
Sitting and singing restricts a lot of air flow. Don't practice bad habits.
Ya you suck you’ll never get there
So inspirational. Truly amazing progress. Proof that OBSESSION BEATS TALENT EVERY TIME
thank you so much for your example! You're level of commitment and hard work was a huge wake up call for me. I will get to work and stop complaining and finding excuses.
Imagine being his roommate from 2008-2011. But thanks for not giving up and inspiring us ❤️
I'm howling
my gosh it took you at least 4 years to actually sound impressive... Thats some determination. Just saying cause i don't have that drive lol.
It took me about that long to sound impressive on guitar 🎸 we've been un quarantine for over a year now, it's a good time to get started on something you're passionate about !
This kind of stuff, this stuff right here, is what rejuvenates and reinforces my love for music.
Hopefully someday I get a killer voice like yours! ❤✨
You will
I’ve been singing for about 20 years and I’ve got to say this video is so inspiring.
I recently made a dance video and plan on making my first singing video.
Excellent work man. Proud of you. I know how much practice that takes :)
Thanks David. That means a lot to me coming from you. You're an awesome singer and coach. I've followed your channel for quite a while! I would love to collab with you!
Just buy an audio interface. It's getting dead cheap day by day 😁
We want Lucifer's season 5.
Lmao
Thats funny😂😂
Joe Geims 😂😂😂
😂😂 I knew he was making me think about someone!
FACTS 😂😂💯💯💯
LUCIFAAAN 🔥🔥🔥
This is important to see. Until recently, I would give up on most things I wasn’t immediately good at, not realizing that the people good at those things likely worked at it
Wow! I've been singing all my life, my voice was stronger when I was in choir but my old voice coach told me he can't wait to see what my voice can be...I had to drop out, but I feel like with my natural talent plus lessons I could really hang with the greats! Thanks for the inspiration.
