I just want to know what they were thinking giving the final bosses in the US version 3000 health a piece. I could never beat this game as a kid because it was like running a triathalon.
I wonder why they didn't do the Red Shell technique in this Speedrun? Granted I've only done it a handful of times as a kid but you can easily get 2000 damage on her without using more than 2 items.
Little fact: There is one phrase the shroobs repeat throughout the game made of two of their signs. It's translated as "Destroy" which makes up the entire philosophy of the shroob culture.
That softlock 3 hours in makes for a great alternate ending, "MORE BLOCKING BLOCKS, NO GO" then both leave their adventure to do some kart racing, roll credits
Any% in this game is pretty nice. You skip most of the late game by using the ball move to clip through the gate at Shroob Castle, so you only have to collect the first two shards. Shroob Castle portal also opens right when you get the ball move, which is super convenient
Incredible game. Was honestly astonished as I got older and played the serious RPGs - finding out the Mario RPG series is comparable in its own way, and more balanced than FF6/7+CT!
Brilliant 100 percent run boys! I love this game so much though. May be the black sheep of the series but I adore it despite all its flaws. This game is so much fun for the duo Toadsworth

All of the M&L games have memorable osts, but Dream Team is the best one overall imo. Bowser's Inside Story has the best Giant Battle theme, and the remake, which people need to stop nitpicking, has Destroy the Dark Power.
Sunnycide and Kamek are actually the only bosses in the European version that don't have reduced HP from the American version. Being European myself, I'd always thought even on my casual playthroughs that Sunnycide takes really long, so that would explain it. (Never noticed it much with Kamek though.) There is also a single Risk Badge in Gritzy Desert that you can obtain after learning Baby Spin, but I suppose it's not worth getting for the time it'd take.
I played on US and most of the bosses felt pretty drawn out, especially Elder Princess Shroob. Kamek always felt very quick in comparison, so I'm not surprised Kamek didn't get nerfed in Europe

I deleted my first save because I thought I was softlocked against Mrs. Thwomp with so few items when I didn't realize there was a blue pipe in E. Gadd's lab. Though you have to actually go out of your way to see it and the map somewhat lies to you.
Watching this I found out that you can use the baby's to extend the hammer attack and allows the fire and ice flower to reach flying enemies, and I played the entire game not knowing that 😭🤦♂️
i dont understand becasue when i play i cant switch my mode again like in this video when 1:13:52 boolshit and my bouton work really well everytime i quit and stard again and i can switch everytime but when i try to finish about the hammer explication i cant switch again wtf

having two people do half a 3ds surely can not be the best way to do this. the amount of time that was wasted just on basic jumping prompts should be cause for concern lol
If we had any time to practice it we would have done much better. Snoion didn't arrive until two days before this run and I had multiple runs to prepare for plus a hosting shift. It was a for fun novelty incentive for a relatively trivial part of the game anyway

Hahahahahaha hell no The record for this game without *any* glitches is something like 4:30, with Money Glitch it was 4:14. All Bosses is 3:38 and Snoion could definitely have optimized it more but it wasn't his preferred category.
In an actual casual playthrough you'd probably use more options and do more damage with standard attacks, bosses take longer in the speedrun because they're done at rather low levels. But yeah towards endgame they can take awhile, they're more fun to do than watch (Unless you're watching Snoion absolutely flex)
