ّI would add two things to your tvp preps: 1. put it in a sieve and shake to get ride of any dust and very small granules and 2. give it a few rinses before soaking in the broth.
I keep coming back to your recipes and plant-based dad's recipes. These are so easy to make and tasty. Thank you for sharing. I have stopped pouring on the oils as well. I am over the oil. There is NO need for oil. My arteries and veins can't take it any longer.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have only been "plant based" for about a year now!! I was never excited about TVP until I saw this video. I am still learning how to cook heartier meals that are "plant based". I was drooling over the Lasagna!! I have not had it in over a year and it truly was one of my favorite comfort foods prior to me switching to plant based.
If there's enough moisture in the sauce, the lasagna noodles don't need to be boiled. They'll cook in the sauce in the oven. Probably something people have already commented but thought I'd mention
I’m participating in the #threeriverschallenge where you eat out of your pantry for two months. I have this bag of TVP and I didn’t know what to do with it. Your video inspired me so much. So glad I found you. Subscribed.
I love eating this way and have done so for years. My husband is trying to eat this way. I believe this will help him miss meat less. Thank you so much!
I just made the taco casserole! Sooo easy and delicious! I used my soy curls dust and nubs and it worked great. Came together so quickly as I all ready cooked rice in the fridge. Thank you!
That sounds good. Maybe if I add TVP to hamburger meat, to ground pork or to any kind of shredded meat to add into a recipe which calls for meat that would taste good.
I've been vegetarian for 10 years (plant-based wannabe) and have yet to try TVP. My mom was also vegetarian and used the frozen meatless crumbles. However, I don't like that the ingredients aren't very clean. I definitely will be trying TVP in the near future, especially for taco bowls (with homemade yellow rice)! I just bought pea crumbles (Plant Boss plant crumbles, I bought online from either iHerb or Vitacost, can't remember) but haven't tried them yet. For those avoiding soy, that might be an option. Thanks for the recipes!
I’ve been plant based for 5 years and just tried TVP. It is the only thing I’ve had so far that I could not digest it very well. I read you can rehydrate, squeeze the liquid out, rinse, and cook again for easier digestion. But I’m too scarred to do it anytime soon, haha. I eat all other soy/legumes without issues. Oh well, back to lentils for a ground meat sub for now!
Just bought a bag! Looking fwd to whipping up some recipes. Husbabd & I will be celebrating this was of eating - mostly plant-based) in June. Want to focus on more complete protein stuff! Thank you.
Great video! I just subscribed and am looking forward to watching more of your videos. I recently bought TVP for the first time and am loving it. I'm excited about all the possibilities. I am flexitarian and have little interest in meat anymore, but need the protein. I love what you are using as a strainer. Is that just a plastic organizing basket? It fits perfectly in your had to make dumping stuff easy in the pot and I would love to know the size or any information you can give me about it since it looks to be a perfect hack. Thanks!
CAREFUL of salt substitutes if you take some blood pressure and/or cholesterol meds - most substitutes add potassium chloride in lieu of sodium, and some meds warn against it. Also not great if you have lesser kidney function.
Always amazes me how people will literally just dump taco seasoning on dry protein. It has corn starch or some other thickening powder. You're supposed to create a sauce that adheres to the protein with it. It's literally on the fucking instructions.
This stuff is the devil for the digestive system. I would love to eat this but it always feels like tiny gremlins are trying to crawl out from my intestines.
Ground chuck at my nearest Walmart is $6.93 a pound or $1.73 per serving. The same brand of TVP that she showed is on Amazon for 1.5 lb for $14.99 or .54 cents per serving. Ground beef is literally more than 3 times the price per serving of the TVP.

I LOVE textured vegetable protein - it's so versatile! I feel it's very underrated in the plant based world.

I'm not sure I'd call it flavorless. It smells and I assume tastes the way Milk Bone dog biscuits do. But it is very useful in a plant based diet.
Really nice. I particularly love the addition of corn, it adds a sweet and buttery texture to the already flavorful ingredients. 👍

The lasagna was so good! I’m excited for you to try it!

Your kids are adorable
“This is super good, mom!” Kids are great critics so kudos to you, girl!
Great video! Do you have a video with soy curls?
freeze the rest of your paste for later use, just plop it on a piece of plastic or into a tiny 2 ounce container
I'm really enjoying your channel. Thanks for the helpful videos.

Child has a future as an influencer! That's the easiest ricotta method ever, thanks!

Look for Soy Curls too. 100% soybean, complete with fiber.
@@TKevinBlanc Thanks for the recommendation. I've seen them but haven't tried them yet.
I used your recipe for tvp, beans and corn for taco meat!! Yum yum
Excellent looking recipes thanks for posting
Thank you for sharing this simple recipe.
OMG ..., you started to sound like a dietitian.👍

I used zucchini instead of noodles. So delicious Tysm for this fantastic recipe 🥰😊

It’s got a bad rep in UK but is more popular in America
I was going to try tvp and soy curls but they are so much higher cost than meat. I’m not a vegan but wanted to experiment.
this is awesome!!!!

You can freeze your tomato sauce
Brilliant
Great recipes as always! Thanks!
Do you have to use veggie broth ? For the textured vegetable protein?
No you don’t have to.
How much veggie broth you use ?
Looks delicious, definitely going to try this.
Good video. At what point do you freeze it.
Hi how would I find the ingredients you use in Uk I also have the problem, I can’t leave my home.
Looks delicious. Thank you. Where do you find oil free hummus?
Make your own 🙂

I make a TVP bolognese sauce that fools meat eaters every time 🙂
Sounds amazing!

Too much information. 😂
The TVP might be healthier, but it’s significantly more expensive than meat. 😢
3 lbs on amazon for $27, i’d say that’s pretty comparable to ground beef prices

Hey, I know you're not the brightest because you're vegan, but taco seasoning is meant to be used with LIQUID.
What The Health on Netflix.
