Recently upgraded my X5 G05 with the amp and speakers and it sounds fantastic. The level of detail in the music is amazing, a worthy upgrade. Installation wasn't bad, was a bit apprehensive about taking the door panels off a brand new car but after the first one, I got the hang of it.
Pretty sweet, makes me happy that it is 1000% easier to get to in the F30 lol. BMW was so kind to actually allow you to lift the trunk floor cover, that they actually made a clip to hold it up when you're working on it! That, and much easier/friendlier battery access haha. Great video guys!! Amazing how an AMP can make a world of a difference these days for otherwise factory systems.
As a fellow F30 guy I agree! That extra storage comes in handy too. Still salty that the G20 is kinda better at literally everything else though.

Do the center speakers delete first. Supposedly sounds way better and it’s free 😂

Nice! That was the first thing I did on mine f30.. ripped off the base audio and got installed stage 4 Match kit. As you say it blows minds 😂😂

I can attest, this amp makes a big difference. Did the amp and speakers and it’s night and day to the stock hi-fi that came with my M340i.

Tip for install. I removed the entire side panel in the trunk and put the trunk floor in while doing the work and tape cuts. I then crawled into my trunk to lay on my side with seats down. More comfortable than reaching inside. Probably not a good look for video. 😂. Fwiw.

Totally unrelated, do you have any videos on how to install the gts oled taillights (by Vland) on a f32 428i Gran coupe??. I know you have some great tutorials to do this on all sedans, but this car....is different 🤦. Little help here, tnx guys.
Great vlog guys! I’m curious why you need to use both amps meaning why do you need to keep the oem amp in? I ask as I was thinking I’d sell my Harmon Kardon Amp to help offset the cost of a new amp. Thanks so much!
The trunk arm plastic takeoff thing.. for me.. wasn’t necessary but likely made it slightly easier to pull the carpet a bit

I have Bowers & Wilkins in my 750i xdrive, just need a good sub, maybe a bandpass so all my sub base is in my cabin and not rattling in the trunk
You are not satisfied with the bowers & wilkins? It should have loads of deep accurate bass especially if you adjust the equalizer to your liking.
Great video. I definitely need this for my M340i. Especially since both my Toyota's have way better sound systems at a lower price point. It's pretty annoying that this is what BMW puts in their cars.

Yeah, I have HK on my ‘13 F30 and have never been impressed esp for a 60k car!
P.S. It also didn’t come with a backup camera and wish it had one every time I park for ten years now! 🤦🏽♂️
I got the Harman Kardon any upgrades for it? Not that the sound is not good I think only the bass is a little bit low. Otherwise it got really high DB and crystal clear sound.
I may have missed this but were the alpha one speakers already installed or did they just switch the amp from stock? I am in the process of converting to all alpha one - already have the under seat speakers installed and waiting for the rest of the speakers to arrive next week. Hope the sounds is drastically improved and there is no need for the amp yet. Hope the door install isn’t too bad.

if you are going to install a dsp amp like in the video then always amp first if your speakers are not blown.

Alpha one tuned speakers and amp was made for f3xx series. I think you might find something in there
HK system sounds pretty good already imo there’s not much benefit in upgrading the amp

I am still a little bit skeptical with Bluetooth connection cuz it delivers worse sound compare with connection thru ipod connection. It would be great if you make another video about comparasion between Bluetooth, aux, and iPod connection.
Agreed. Bluetooth connection is really bad, especially through apple CarPlay(not sure if it connects Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) I always have mine plugged in and it sounds great, not super loud, but really good.
questions:
1. How does this amp manipulate the front stage?
2. How does this amp manipulate the rear stage?
3. Does it combine the sub in a mono or stereo stage?
4. Are there any time alignment and/or RTA setting does?
5. If this is a three-way amp what is the power rating per stage?
Manipulating stages is a real thing with you? What is the quantitative measurement?
It’s just makes the stages hit.. all you’re doing is adding the kind of power the speakers need.. you’re not changing the tuning really unless you tweak it to.. which you can do.
1. Time alignment gives you better front staging and better left + right recognition.
2. Rear volume is lowered so it feels like music is coming more from front of you. This is ideal for good sound stage and to hear music like its meant to be.
3. Subs don't have stereo, as they shouldn't.
4. Yes this amplifier has time alignment, with the tune you load from the website it gives you general time alignment settings, probably not the most accurate though so you should do it yourself.

Yes
Harmon Kardon option is a good sound system. Much better than the Bose I had in a 2020 Macan and B&O in my 2019 S4. I thought the Audis was the most disappointing.
Did you have the B&O in the Audi? I had them in my 2017 S3 and thought they were great after I added a sub.. but it wasn’t that bad and I felt was way better than the bmw systems
Sorry.. I’m dumb., you said you had B&O.. the B&O had no mid range which was frustrating for sure.. but I’m finding that common in cars these days:(
Just pulled my two amps outta my F30 and my Audison Bit Ten. Not really that hard. Upgraded all speakers to 5 1/4" from the shitty 4" stocks. Left those in the car and keep the ghost woofers working the whole time for full bass support in the cabin with dual 10" Skar's running at 1ohm in the trunk.

F30 340i how do I know which amp I have without taking apart the trunk?
Go to bimmertech website, punch in your bmw vin, they will send you a pdf with your system.
Okay I tried to do it by myself.. I’m a chick but I actually inastalled an amp, head unit, and door speakers in my old 335xi. It’s a feat I’m particularly proud of. It was not something I’m used to tackling but I bought the car with speakers blown. Anyhow, I tried to do this by myself.. they made it look easy.. for for any chicks out there don’t try this by yourself. The interior carpet plastic piece can only come out to the seat lever.. it doesn’t provide much room easily.. if I were stronger I could have maybe bent it down but it was just too hard to reach by myself while holding the amp in one hand and locking the nuts in place.. I lacked a good light so I was just like FFFFFF. I called some friends to help and it will be done soon.. the weather stripping is stuck with glue so I felt bad that I removed the bottom of that out.

Why has everyone skipped the ID6 G30s with Harman Kardon?
How does the amp affect the turn signal and phone volume? I’ve heard the Audiotec Fischer based amp upgrades really increase the volume in a bad way.

ASD needs to be turned off or the turn signal and engine noise will be too loud for most people

I have HK in my 2020 M5 and it doesn't sound that great. I measured 85db peak and that's weak to me. Distortion at the top means amp can't push enough power. 600W? I don't know about that. Maybe 6 or 8 ohm speakers. Anyway, will this plug and play with my buggy and give me more power?
It is surely much much louder than 85db, or you got something wrong with your M5. Distortion doesn't mean lack of power from amplifier. Amplifier/soirce is distorting probably. Your underseat subwoofers are 4ohms and rest of the speakers are 4ohm aswell. This amplifier is not plug & play to yours unfortunately.

Is 677 better than 676? I have S677 HiFi System professional DSP" in my f01 2010 and its garbage compared to the Logic 7 I had in my 2002 e65 7 series
Yes, what you have is the equivalent of the logic 7 in your e65. You feel like the pro-hifi on your f01 worse? Are you sure the equalizer settings are good?

Anything “easy” for the G82 M4 with Harman Kardon? I feel that the F82 was better.
The newer Harman kardon on G82 should have improved amplifier and dsp functions, but Bmw in fact did make worse quality speakers for G chassis cars. You would best benefit from upgrading the speakers I think, atleast to get it better than F82
Does this amps work with installed bavsound speakers and subs? Will be a problem if I use this amp with my upgraded bavsound speakers for a g20 m340i?

The intermediate sound system, which I think is the one that they're talking about has 12 speakers and 205W of power, at least in spain...
The hifi system comes with like 350 watts.. with the new amp you get 1425 watts with another in/out wire that plugs into the non OEM amp installed. I’m powering 2 10s with 600watts plus all the car speakers.. it’s amazing
@@prawnstar9213 Hifi system comes at around 200 watts. Harman kardon systems are up there around 400 watts

I have a 2018 BMW G30 car. My car has a factory hi-fi sound system. If I install the amp in your g20 video, will it be compatible? and is the hi-fi system of the g30 and g20 the same? Or is there an amp you can recommend for the G30? I just want to install an amp, thank you.
So the HiFi amp is the same as the G20 and you can use the BimmerTech Premium amp upgrade but the bracketing is different and you’ll have to make a custom bracket to mount it. Is the "base" system the Harmon Kardon? I've got a 21 M340i and concur with the pillow sound completely
the Base is not the Harmon Kardon. The Base is without the Harmon Kardon.
Harmon Kardon is an $875 upgrade on the 21 M340i, which I of course opted for on mine :)
Harman option code is 688 and base (HIFI in Europe) is 676.
No the base system in the us is the hifi system.. but in Europe they have an even lower grade system they call the base audio system

It’s an option
For a 1k amp they could have easily made it adjustable via bluetooth on a iOS or Android device. You shouldn't have to plug up a laptop to make changes. Because to state the obvious you need to be in the driver seat to fine tune the sound.

@@catalin.c It will sound better than the hk.. the problem with the whole thing is that bmw doesn’t put in a very powerful amp.. so nothing sounds like it could.. with the amp you don’t even need the speakers that bimmertech sells until you blow a speaker by listening to something too loud.

I bought a 2020 740i last march and was disappointed with the audio system especially because one of the options it has is the "premium" 16 speaker harmon kardon system. My 2006 jeep commander has a factory optioned boston acoustics system that blows this out of the water, and even the stock base stereo system on my 9 YEAR OLD chevy truck has more bass than the bmw even with the bass at max, very disappointed

Why not just get a factory harman kardon $875 upgrade instead of a $1000 diy upgrade
Because the factory hk is way overpriced and still sound muffled. You get this you get real audio.. not manufacture audio
