I love seeing friends helping each other out. Every little bit is an emotional boost and a recovery boost, as well. I love seeing the kids excitement and loving care of the animals.
I've never seen such a skinny momma goat... like, it's hard to watch because it is so clear she is underweight. I think both the goats and the kitty need de-worming asap, they look bad off. I am happy you got some though, goats will help so much with brush and they'll love scraps from all your harvest. She also does look like she will be a great milker once she's in better health. And thanks for being so kind and helping that skinny stray, the animals that find you are often the best ones you'll ever meet!
Micha is a quick learner. I can’t believe he removed the fence clips so fast. All those years of being carried on y’all’s back, watching what you’re doing, is paying off, BIG TIME!
Lacie watch Art and Bri, they have goats that they milk daily, they also had built a goat milking stand with a feed trough so the goats can snack during the milking time. (Milking stand another project for Mike to try and build) LOL
Art and Bri love in your area. You already know them through Justin Rhodes. They could help. Weed E'm and Reap is another you tube channel to watch. They are so good to their goats. A good learning point for home schooling is why animals have different eye shapes.
I just started watching your UA-cam channel and I have to say every single time I see one I am instantly put in a good mood and ready to get back out to my garden! With all that is going on in the world right now, it's really hard for someone who has worked all her life to be doing nothing without suffering the feeling of uselessness and failure, so a huge thank you to yall for doing what you're doing and including us in your lives ❤️ and giving me inspiration to make my home alittle more glorious each day. Many prayers to yall on the land as well as everyday adventures!
They are just beautiful to watch, the farm has grown so much in a few years! I love their hard work, spirituality, education, honesty, love, and fun. I wish them every success.
Knowing it is much easier to get something done without filming I very much appreciate your efforts and allowing us into your family and work life. It is very appreciated. Thank you.
When we need to add weight onto a goat in milk we give a combination of calf manna and senior horse feed along with a high protein goat feed that we have mixed at a local feed mill. The goats need access to a good quality hay and mineral block or free choice minerals also! Storey's Guide to Raising Dairy Goats is an excellent resource! The goats are lovely but to echo all the comments, they look very underweight to me as well. And they hate the rain so a shelter is a must! Lots to learn when raising goats but they are such a fun homestead animal and you can do so much with the milk!! Definitely find a good goat mentor as keeping them healthy can be tricky!!
How wonderful to help out others.... And reaping benefits for both of you....the New Normal..... And goat milk on top of the removal of poison ivy.... THANK you for sharing ❤️💗❤️
Congratulations on your Goats. They will be very helpful clearing areas on the Homestead. Jess and Miah use theirs as Lawnmowers also. If you have questions or have questions I'm sure Jess would be glad to help if your friends aren't available. I had a Dog named Hellga. She had 69 Tattooed on her belly. So that's why I named her Hellga. Let the milk get Cold before letting kids try. It's better cold. They make a metal strainer. I'm sure you saw it at Justin and Rebekah's. So happy for you all. You'll enjoy them and so will the kids. A Shelter is nice for them to get out of the weather. Can make a portable one with Sled like runners so easy to move from place to place. Can't wait to see babies also. Fun and Enlarging the Homestead. Such a great feeling. God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️🙏❣️
It is so great that your child is walking around barefoot. It is so good for them. A lot of science is backing it up. I am practicing earthing consistently recently. I really am feeling a difference! Much love and blessings to you guys!
Oh how exciting!!!! I love how the entire family works as a team to run your homestead. Lacey you can definitely milk that goat. You just need to get more acquainted with her and the confidence will set right in. May God continue to Bless you all and keep a hedge of protection around all of you, your home, your animals, and garden.
The intro music has been really hitting me in the feels the last handful of videos. Great job Lacey! I really enjoy watching your family and Mike for always presenting the reality not just the ideal version and for sharing when there is days and moments of struggling mental mindsets. It's appreciated.
👍🏽 my daughter and I are the same way together. I love our garden time together and when she helps me with chores. Passing on what I know to her and knowing she will have that knowledge for the rest of her life warms my heart. As for that cat 🐈 if y’all gone keep it you might should get it vetted to make share it doesn’t have worms or anything else and to get spayed/neutered to prevent unwanted/uncontrolled births. Good luck with your UA-cam endeavors and your homestead.
Pleased to meet Slim. I think he's quite smart to adopt you as his own humans. He'll be well in no time and be a great edition. Congratulations on your new animals coming to the farm. You are doing wonderful things and inspiring everyone along the way.
In the uk years ago farmers would rent out goats to clean garden up for people. It worked out well the goats would get free food so the farmers was happy and people would get cleaned gardens
Even though I'm totally jelly cuz we don't have our homestead yet.....I couldn't be more pleased and grateful that things are coming together so sweetly for you and your family!!! I love to see y'all living in healthy abundance. GOD BLESS you and yours xoxo YAY GOATS + SLIM COOL :)
That is a very nice addition to your farm. I have to put in some work before I get mine, cleanup of the area and good fencing so not this year. When they come home I want everything to be ready. Last time I was still in school and my dad was the authority but now it will be my show so the prep is on me! You can give those girls a three-sided shelter so they can hang out and be dry when it rains. They hate to be rained on. Enjoy your milk!
Congratulations on getting goats! Lacie, you will certainly learn to enjoy milking. Your quiet time alone haha. Maybe a stanchion would help. And a shelter of course.
So good to see goats on your land .I think your daughter already has a fondness for basil ? I think that's his name. Fresh goat milk for breakfast how wonderful .living your best life :)
Agree. Grain during milking on a stand is the norm for a reason, mamas need that extra. So glad you have this mama now, because I know y'all will do right by her.
Put a couple of 2x2s, about a foot apart, across the covered part of the tractor so the Cornishs can roost off of the ground. Their feet will be warm and dry.
Awesome!!! Great addition to your homestead! I love goat milk and goat cheese it’s sooooo good! It’s been very hard to find here in my area and costs a chunk too! That can be another money maker source when you get a few more nanny’s .. They are so sweet and cute! I’m sure you guys have been and still are researching the care and feeding of your beautiful new animals 😊😊👍🏻. I’m so excited for y’all ... The kids will have so much fun with them too! Looking forward to part II of the new additions 🤗❤️
We raise goats under electric fencing. If you are going to be moving them around you might try the poly wire. It works just like the wire ,but much easier to move and reuse.
I saw that same Joe Rogan interview with Joel Salatin and AGREE, Mike, we as a society are TOO sterile & too paranoid about dirt, germs, etc. So glad to see you lead your family, get them in the dirt, and eat fresh off the vine. Well done, brother
In the "which one did I bring home" video you asked Selah her opinion about where the new animals should go but I never heard her answer . I thought it was really cool that you ask her opinion . it helps to build confidence.
Love it, It blesses me to see yal being blessed and helping your friends out. And Selah looks like shes made a new best friend with Basil. My childhood growing up on a farm are filled with some of my most precious memories and most involved animals. Nothing like growing up a farm kid. Yal have a blessed night cant wait for upcoming videos.
Hi Lacie, Living Transitions Homestead let them eat while milking.....the goat goes straight to the stand...walks on....starts eating and Sarah starts milking....you might want to look that up.....it would be easier for you....You guys are GREAT!
I sure hope that mama goat is able to put on some weight...yikes!!!!! Wonder if she's been wormed recently? Also, goats hate rain and need shelter asap
, yes I think they come from a dryer climate and can get foot rot if you leave them outdoors. There is harsh weather everywhere so sure they need shelter.
👍👍👍. Awesome addition cus goats are hard workers. Having raised Nubians and Finnish goats for many years I learned whatever you take out as in milking you must give them more of a nutrient diet of grain. The milker is very thin and baby’s ribs are showing as well. Of grazing heavily they may have worms. A vet check will truly help to be sure of quality of health and guide you to a better diet for them and quality of milk. Or a trusted goat breeder too. You’re so good to your animals and your land and now that you’ve got these I know you’ll give them a good life too. But you must have noticed how bony they are and need more attention. Sometimes it just happens but it certainly can be fixed. A Nubian especially should have more meat on her bones and not be so thin. A strict milking schedule and even building a stanchon would be much easier to milk at. So much cleaner for her and your milk. And how often is she milked cus baby looks like it’s ready to wean. So easy when you get a routine but grazing can’t be the main source of her diet since you’re drinking her milk. Wise choice having goats and perfect for kids to handle. That was a lot of work putting up the fence. Now ya need a shelter from nasty weather cus these goats don’t like the rain. Can’t wait to see this journey and if they stay away from the garden. We had a few that loved to jump the fence cus grass always greener on the other side. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I was inspired by your videos to plant nasturtiums! You asked on the video tonite if you have inspired us to do anything so I thought I would share! Your kids are darling! Keep up the good work. God bless your family.
Selah has the secret to life. Immunity wins over germs fighting. Guess it wasn't pigs. Goats will be fun. And 4 of them! Hazel and Basil, cute names. Basil has found love in her(?) new home.
Wow! Congratulations on your goats! They'll help you keep down the weeds! I didn't consider them because I thought you had to prepare a place/barn for them... it was a nice surprise -now you have milk!
What an amazing journey! Awesome! Congrats on the goats. As for the cat..cupl things: might be worms, but might be fleas, too. Fleas will cause the animal to become anemic and to lose weight. Nice cat, tho! Itll be most useful as a mouser (fingers crossed lol). I am lucky. I have 6 cats and all but one are fantastic mousers. :) Keep the vids coming! Love your life's story!
I found two kittens in my shed yesterday by the size of your hand so probably a month old no Mom around anybody in the Kansas City area would like them let me know
Looking forward to seeing you guys fatten that mama goat up! Good luck with this new adventure! Be sure to give them a shelter to get out of the rain and I noticed others mention worming may be in order and minerals 😁 I know y'all will do some research.
Guys if the cat is going to stick around the kids please consider getting it a one off vet visit just to make sure it’s not infested with parasites etc.
He was saying in another video he wants to get one. I looked it up once. I think it's only like 300 or 400 or so. It seems like it would pay for itself pretty fast.
Yaiiiii 👏👏👏 Goats 🐐🐐🐐🐐 So happy for you guys. Congratulations on the new addition. I wish I would live near ya. I will volunter to help in your farm, just to learn more and more about raising animals. Keep up the good work God bless you
I bet that rich pasture will put your goats in good condition. A little wormer and super Rich pasture with brambles makes all the difference along with their rations!! And y’all got the trees, brambles, and pasture grass!! Lol with all that rain, we don’t get much rain in west Texas!!
The chicks would be happy if the water and food holders were cleaned every time they were filled. It is important, they will stay healthier according to Justin Rhodes. Your children are just wonderful. A loving family. A great inspiration. You are a wonderful and encouraging father. God bless You and the whole family.
Wow, your squash is so amazing. Mine are well behind the curve. Seyla is so incredibly smart... "You build your immune system!!" Love your kids ... Catman... Slim!! That is your new cat's name ... Catman Slim!! LOL
Worm them too and feed them lots of extra until they fill out a bit that little one is too young to have bred from 😀 I’m sure when you’ve had them for a while they will look 10 times better
Good morning. Nubians. Well done! Their milk, when cold, is delicious! I also like the Nigerian Dwarfs, but not keen on goats with horns. Even our Herefords are polled. I have eaten goat meat, and to me, it tastes like lamb. They are on my future wish list, especially to eat up poison ivy ! Enjoy your new animals. They are clever about escaping !
I predict that Micah might find his way into the chicken tractor at some point. LOL He's so cute. Looks like the goats have found a great place to call home for now.
Goats it is lol..aren't they just so cute. Every time u go to the chickens I am always holding my breath that a black snake doesn't creep out . love that Micah always seems to b doing the filling up of ck feed ..good for him being a big boy... Love this lil family.. Oh goat milk that is so good for all of u.
What a perfect addition to your homestead. Made my day when you said how you would harvest a goat for meat. Here in Jamaica we prefer to eat Ram goat, just keep females for breeding. Selah looks so happy with her new baby.
She is right! You built your immune system. I have done that by substituting honey for sugar in my coffee and eating healthier. My allergies were severe now they are almost gone. It works!😊
Awesome, I have been raising and breeding goats since 1977. Good to see others that are getting into goats. Be aware that goats can be very addictive... :)) Drinking the milk from that goat after she eats the poison ivy may give you some additional immunity.
The cat will be very beneficial to your Homestead! They are one of THE best SNAKE deterrents that you can get! And so much more! I love my cats. And it doesn't matter how much you feed them, they still do their jobs!! Oh and mine get spiders and roaches! Congratulations on your goats!! I've wanted goats for years! I will watch with enthusiasm!! The Kiko goats are meat goats. I've seen them on Arm's Family Homestead. I just worry about parasites. That's what I'm going to have to learn about.
Goats can look that within an hour of not eating, they were just moved and so they weren't going have had full bellies (they have 4). They look good to me and I was a Goat Dairy owner for 35 years :)
@@JackieGreen71 yeah? i see milk goats on various channels (like 5-6)at different times of the day, i have not seen on any other channel a goat that looked so malnurished
SO SO SO SO cool! I have wanted goats for forever it seems like, but hubby can't stand them. Says they wont stay inside their pens and they want to get on your car etc. I think someone when he was a kid had goats and they didn't have their pen secure or something. Anyway FUN, but I don't drink milk since I am dairy free so no good in my getting one now. lol In fact it's helped my allergies big time going plant based and dairy free. No more ear infections or vertigo etc. That happened at least 3-4 times a year. Haven't had that since Oct. last year when I started dairy free plant based. Congrats you guys and I know they will totally clean out that area. Looks like the one that was being milked needs lots of vittles. hee hee
Wow, Goats. I am glad you are getting goats. The milk is great for all and the goats are entertaining and good weed eaters. Looks like they need some good food tho. You are challenged with the cat and goats at this time. Your kids will enjoy the goats. And I think their rectangle eyes are weird too !! LOL :-) Lacey, you did good on your first milking. :-)

And thanks for being so kind and helping that skinny stray, the animals that find you are often the best ones you'll ever meet!
I'm so glad to see you taking care of the skinny kitty. Poor little thing. He lucked out when he wandered into your homestead!
Glad you got goats. They dont like rain and theyl need a goat house for protection from critters.
Thank you Harold and thank you for that lovely email you sent Mike. We appreciate you sharing your story with us!
Yeah, Bri has that milking down to a science. She loves her goats!
Selah is soooo happy to get new animals that she’s literally jumping up & down… 😄
Art and Bri love in your area. You already know them through Justin Rhodes. They could help. Weed E'm and Reap is another you tube channel to watch. They are so good to their goats. A good learning point for home schooling is why animals have different eye shapes.
Your dairy goat would benefit from a high protein dairy ration if she's nursing 😊.
love that you have a cat now ...maybe some flea meds and some extra food will be good. love to watch this part ..so beautiful

Such a thoughtful and kind approach. Thank u so much! Learning curve for sure for them. Prayers that this all turns to a positive
How wonderful to help out others....

I love it when Micah says "Uh hummm" He's such a cutie and selah is so smart!!
I agree. Your kids are so beautiful and smart. It makes me smile to watch them. God bless your wonderful family.
Hi...... Mike Dickson, thank you for sharing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍

Congrats on the new goats to the farm! I raise Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats and glad I've added them to the farm.

LOL
aaww love the cuteness .I remember picking anything from the garden rubbing it on your clothes .it`s clean and eating it
U crack me up. U tend to farm like I used to. Successful, yet u do it like it's a game, corners not square, messes along the way, but it works
Worm them too and feed them lots of extra until they fill out a bit that little one is too young to have bred from 😀 I’m sure when you’ve had them for a while they will look 10 times better
I love your new goats! Congratulations! 🦖🐐🦖
I was hoping for penguins but goats are cool too lol.
I can totally see Selah being the crazy goat lady!!
Good video, your homestead just got better goats goats goatsssssssssss, be be safe and blessed
What a perfect addition to your homestead. Made my day when you said how you would harvest a goat for meat.
Here in Jamaica we prefer to eat Ram goat, just keep females for breeding.
Selah looks so happy with her new baby.
Jamaica is where we first ate goat and it was so good!
@@MikeTheFitFarmer Power Soup/Manish Water. Muscle building benefit of lean goat meat. Curry yum!
Make sure Mica knows goats have smiles.
Mike u need to build a shelter cos goats hate rain! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Drinking the milk from that goat after she eats the poison ivy may give you some additional immunity.
Mine allergies were worse in the beginning of gardening but now I’m doing fine!
Is the momma thats in milk a particular breed that is naturally skinny? I've never seen a momma goat so boney. I hope she's ok
@@humility-righteous-giving but she has 35 years experience, u see snippets of those channels day not all of it bare in mind
critical thinking what channels do u watch I’ve tried watching some others
I missed when you put windows in. They look great!
