Thank you for the video today David, on this 46th anniversary of the King's death. I hope Elvis is still singing in heaven, and still making people happy!⚡❤🙏
I just read a fascinating article that referenced Al Strada and questions he was asked at the Dr Nick enquiry. It's sad reading and the answers Al gives really made me empathise with the disease that Elvis had in the form of drug addiction. Al lives in Alaska now and has never given interviews and won't discuss what went on. Elvis developed an incredible tolerance and was still able to function yet it took such a toll on his body in a very short time. Love Elvis, such an incredible talent gone way too soon.
He is bloody gorgeous ❤ he's voice gives me the chills all the time ❤I'm glad he put those bloody idiots straight ❤ there will never be onether Elvis i love him sooo much ❤💙💔💔💔💘❤💋💋💋💋💋💋💋🤴👸
Thank you. Love when EP addresses haters and nasty rumor mongers....he could be brutally direct when needed. He was and is STILL the man. Rest in Love with your beloveds, EP 💯⚡❤
He seemed quite defensive. I wonder if it's not unlike Frank Sinatra in the old days where he 'editorialized' onstage, often to notorious effect when in Melbourne, Australia in '74 when Sinatra talked about hookers and broads of the press. Elvis was indeed 'strung out', he was a massive prescription drug addict. Did he 'doctor shop' or did the appalling Dr Nick deliver all he asked for? He was on Dilaudid, which is almost heroin I believe.
Today is August 16th and i just got done watching Llnda Thompson and Jerry Schiliing hanging out talking Elvis,I wish i was there,,Great show from your show too.*TCB

Interesting unique and good concert. Elvis was starting to get a bit weird but couod get away with it cause he was so fascinating and still a good performer and great singer. Should of done a world tour around this time
Aug 16 , 77.. remember that day very well !!! Let's concentrate on th great entertainer he was, put aside th negative, .. but by 74 he WAS putting on weight, & by 75 referred to " fat & forty".. Yet still sold out all concert venues. Th 2 culprits in Elvis demise, death were th greedy Col. P, & Dr Nick !!
Elvis gave an extremely similar onstage speech to the audience on another occasion, where he mentioned the rumours as being dangerous, 'to my daughter, to my doctor'. He ended that speech by saying that if he found the person responsible for the rumours, he would 'pull their god damn tongue out by the roots.'
Kind of like "Desert Storm" part 2. I didn't know he talked about the drugs beyond that concert. It must have clearly bothered him. But the rumors were finally catching up to him. Sound not taken from his mic like "Desert Storm", so not as clear, but it sounds like you found another winner. Some fans may hate these concerts because of his language and off the wall demeanor but this was Elvis. This is how he talked off stage. And his voice really had power and passion still. Light years ahead of what followed after. Good job. TCB, brother.
It definitely bothered him. I wonder why it did at this moment so much? Maybe because he felt like they were petting him against the wall and he wanted to attack? Great concert though.
Loved that David! Bridge of Troubled Water reprise was phenomenal! That was interesting about John O'Grady, as well. O'Grady was also used by Ed Hookstratten, EP's attorney, to investigate if Prissy was having an affair. It was confirmed in the Fall of 1971. Here's something else that you might be interested in from Sept. 3, '74 concert, I think. (Elvis Presley - You gave me a mountain (live-September-1974)). At one point, he's almost angrily shouting the lyrics - "she took my reason for living." I think this is the same night that Prissy was in the audience along w/ Lisa; Sheila Ryan was there, as well. EP introduces Prissy saying how beautiful she is and then introduces Sheila R. telling her to hold up her hand so everyone can see the ring.. Same time when talking about cars he mixes up the words Stutz with stud, referring to Mike S.
This rant that he went on that night and other shows during this time was so not him when he was clean. I guess you could say he was in denial or caught with his pants down so to speak. But it is what it is and he would only live a few short years after this.
" AIN'T it Funny How Time Slips Away " 46years ago( August 18,2023) Today they were burying Elvis at Graceland. I got to visit on his birthday twice and Anniversary of his death three times. Anniversary of his funeral four times.

I love those 3 different Spanish Flower suits but they were a bit heavy. But about the 'renewed' setlist: I think that was a good thing to do and honestly I think he should 'change' the opening now and then... that would maybe 'break' the Routine.. I like that opening and honestly those people who just was in his show only just 'to be there' - he should not care about that reactions, honestly. And he could do the Intro in every way he wants to do, I would like to see a regular change...
James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." 46 years ago today, I'll never forget it. ..I was 13 years old. I was playing ball with my brother and my grandma walked out of the house weeping...her words: "ELVIS IS DEAD!" At 42 years old, he was gone. I make no apology for being a huge Elvis fan, then and now. I've sang his songs, watched his concerts, read about his life, as truly he was the greatest entertainer to ever live. However, as big of a fan as I am, I also get saddened when I think of his life. He was thrust into stardom so fast, that few could have handled it, and sadly, neither could he. Elvis was known as the "King of Rock and Roll". My friends, Elvis had PHENOMENAL VOCAL ABILTY, incredible charisma, and I'm convinced that he was called of God, to sing EXCLUSIVELY for the Glory of God! But, he chose world fame and fortune, and sadly many of us, with those sane giftings, would have done the exact same. Any gift the Lord gives you, will ultimately CONSUME YOU, if you don't use that gift for the purpose that God gave you that gift for. From all that I've studied, read and researched, several weeks before Elvis passed, Reverend Rex Humbard said he personally prayed the sinners prayer with Elvis, (who was raised like me in the Assembly of God) and Elvis gave his heart to the Lord! Friends, whatever God has gifted you with, please use that gift for the glory of God and the souls of men!!
..."he was called to sing exclusively for the glory of God, but he chose world fame and fortune instead"... Good grief, sanctimonious much??? Elvis used his "gift" wrongly now? Why is it that when it comes to Elvis, so many stands in high judgement of him, thinking they know what he should and shouldn't have done with his life, or think they figured out what his psychological problems were, and where he went wrong. Now, somebody think they know what their almighty God had intended for him ? Also, Elvis handled his fame just fine, considering where he came from, I think he fell into that stardom like a pro. The fact that he died young and struggled with lots of problems at the end does not mean he failed, or didn't accomplished his destiny. A lot of people don't get to live a full life, or meet a bad end, that's just the way it is. The legacy Elvis left behind and the joy it still brings cannot be wrong. And it happened the way it happened. Maybe there was never any other way....
Great video. I can't make up my mind if I like the jumpsuit or not. Is it black or blue? What was the ring (in the bubble picture) made of? What a huge ring wow 😮 Thanks have a nice day 💜
Great video. Did any other stars of the period also perform the two shows a night residencies? It must have been an incredible strain to do it for a month at a time.

I mean, Elvis was strung out by some heavy duty pain meds. I don’t think Elvis was THAT fooled just because they were prescription. He abused them and he knew it. I think he was just trying to straighten out the rumors tho in his favor.
@@ElvisistheMan_ Thanks for the answer. It's interesting he would be so emphatic if in his heart he knew he was specifically "strung out". I do wonder if it specific wording that gave him the edge of it not describing him. I don't like to think he would just flat out be dishonest about it. It seems to me that he didn't see his use as a drug culture abuse (recreational), which "being strung out" would have meant at that time, at least where I lived in the 70s.
