Harley Benton 7 string is calling you Charles.....
I have a request. You know the Battle of Britain theme, the one that starts at 2:55 in the "Battle of Britain - Heinkel Turkeyshoot" video?
That, but if Liszt had written it as the music for a lyrical metal anthem.
Do a cover of “First Fragment - Solus” by Dominic Forest Laputine.
I was there playing bass... and it was a honor to play for you
Wow, that had to be an amazing experience!
🤭 ah you two
Salute to you Bass man. God bless.
Truly, this man is one of the most bass players of all the times.
That really means a lot, thank you
one of the most what?
I read this as most badass.
@@chesspunk489 he's maximum bass player in the majority of times
@@CharlesBerthoud really means a lot of bass players.
All that in 2 weeks. Man, there is no shortage to your diligence and passion in music, and that is literally inspirational.
Thanks, it was stressful but definitely worth it!
@@CharlesBerthoud Certainly man. So much experience to gain after such an endeavor!
@@CharlesBerthoud It was Epic to watch man! I was floored when I tried putting myself in your shoes with all that sound going on. Seemed so thrilling!
I'm from São Paulo! You will always be welcome here. Thank you for coming to visit us.
The fact that your playing is so perfect made this possible. If I was in such a position, my brain would be in such overload that my bass playing would break down. Kudos to Rockin 1000, they sound awesome, too.
I was thinking that too. No chance of making mistakes. Charles obviously believes the mantra "rehearse until you can't play it wrong" not "until you can play it right".
You deserved it! Come to Brazil more often ❤️
So proud Rockin 1000 started out in Romagna, my beautiful region in Italy :D
I have been following the Rockin' 1000 for several years now and when I saw you had teamed up with them I knew it was going to be spectacular, it's always people who just love music and want to put on a good show. I'm so glad it worked out. And yes, I will be seeing them someday, even if I have to cross an ocean to do it!
8:50 Tried to watch ZZ Top in a baseball stadium. The stadium fed it through their p/a, so we heard that, then the stage speakers a second later. As you might imagine, it was just chaotic mud.
Coolest thing ever, but would really like to see the final product from start to finish.
Legendary, man. Legendary.
Charles, I am one of the thousand. Unfortunately I was not in San Paolo, but
It would be great if you could also participate in the next R1K shows in Europe!
That under pressure part was so amazing ❤
Love from Portugal Charles 🇵🇹
Wow!! You were amazingly lucky AND it proved that Rock 1000 was a well organized event. Never heard of anything like it!! Thanks for giving us the blow-by-blow account of your part, YOU are amazing!! (70 yr old grandma)
My God! The groove locked in with 200 drummers and that incredible slap bassline made me feel so good and almost in tears. I love bass 🔥🔥🔥
This is amazina man!
An interview with the sound person would have been so awesome.
That was special! Thanks for sharing!
This was a super cool video, glad you gave us like an inside view of how these big events are done. Thanks for doing what you do mate
this is the vlog I've been waiting for!
Oh man can’t wait to see full film…. Really challenging🤘
Awesome charles! You deserve all the success.. You're the best bass player I've ever heard and seen.
I love the music in the background, really well done video :)
Wow that’s fresking amazing man! Kudos yo you!!
Wow, great job as always. This really was something to behold. Definitely one to remember!
Thanks for this update! That was really cool to get behind-the-scenes.
You've got marvelous bass technique, hope you can keep forward in music.
Your playing elicits pure joy and your videos are hilarious
You are actually outstanding @ Charles Berthoud👍🏼💪🏼
I love Rockin' 1000! I recognized your song too! That must've been quite the adventure! You sounded amazing! Bravo!
Well done Charles!👍👍
Wow! This was an incredible feat and an amazing great story.. had me laughing too. I like the amazing slap bass melody going on in the back round while you told the story... & wondering..."is that your playing Charles from another video you did?" sounds a bit like Jaco P too...That is really good and congrats to you for another amazing job well done!
What a great experience. Kudos to you for keeping it together!!
You are my hero! My 'bucket list" includes participating in one of these....and here you are directing a segment! AWESOME! 💪
Congratulations sir
You inspired my older brother to do bass in high school and I am now performing in tiny little concerts around Germany. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
bro! that was EPIC!
wow. And I worried that my first ever guitar concert this sunday had only one 15 minutes repetition with the band. Bravo!
That's pretty amazing! Freddie would be very stoked by this.
Thanks Charles..... touched by an angel
impressive that you were able to meet the challenge
I can’t wait to see Elevated released finally! Such an amazing solo!
Great bro!
It is cool to hear the story behind the video!
This is so cool!! I live in São Paulo and I have never heard of Rockin 1000 before!
Brilliant!
You’re putting the pro in professional!
Humongous task!!! WOW as always
amazing!
You are the greatest bass player the world has ever produced.. Amazing
I thought about it, if any musician (either a band or some pop singer) collaborates with you to play some crazy bass solo in a song, they risk not being able to reproduce the spectacle live as very few touring bassists would be able to play some of the lines you just throw in like it's nothing.
It was an insane performance before learning this. wow
For those who don't know, the song from the end of the video is called ''The Last Ride'' by Charles Berthoud himself. A true MASTERPIECE!
Dude you are the ONLY UA-camr where I have to hit like when you start plugging your sponsors.
Absolutely a phenomenal performance and major milestone in your career as an Epic Musician! This would be the highlight of my career but I believe you can top this!❤
Super dope dude, love your spirit and drive. Never give up on your dreams, never surrender, and that’s for everybody. If you become obsessed with your dream, it will become a reality.
That's great Charles! you know u can do difficult stuff, i will play as well with rockin 1000
As a drummer I'd be utterly delighted to play along the likes of Master Charles. I'm glad aaall of you guys enjoyed thoroughly the process and stuff. Still, I can't help but feeling some irritability for Rockin 1000's total neglect for both Bogota (my hometown) and Mexico City's shows.
this sounds epic and I love it.
Wow. I was wondering what the backstory to that post was and now I know. Amazing work. Sounds like that would be worth breaking my decades long self imposed ban on seeing stadium bands for.
Menino, você esteve no Brasil?!? Amo você ainda mais!
Amazing
9:25 That’s my favourite composition of yours? You’re the best, Charles.
REALLY appreciate you laying this out, becase yes I (and I'm certain many) wondered how this had been executed. Bravo!
Awesome. I've been wondering for a long time how that all came together. It's very cool to get the behind-the-scenes story.
Just a heads up that when a weather app says 50% chance of raining, it doesnt mean 50/50 chance of rain. it means that 50% of the area (sao pualo in this case) will get rain. so the actual immediate area you are in might not actually get any rain!
Very intestino video more like this
when can i see the actual performance?
WOOOW, CHARLES! YOU ARE AMAZING! Today (30 Sep 2023) I had an audition in Wien with a Piccolo Bass Solo! (I was inspired by you 😊)
where can i find the full performances?
this was so cool when this was released I wondered how you managed this, this is insane.
Currently dreaming to do such a thing in my life
Awesome
JUST 🐐OF ALL TIME!
A Majora's Mask reference? This channel is suspiciously amenable to my personal tastes.
Awesome!!!
Awesome video! Love to hear about the experience.
I'm actually not even surprised that you pulled this off. I've said it before and I'll say it again. You could make a wet mop sound beautiful.
Very Cool!
Hi from Finlad! :D
Loved to watch the "behind the scenes" of how that all came about. That video is one of my favorites and I rewatch it all the time. Can't wait to get the track released! Thanks for sharing, Charles.
this video deserves a lot more credit with 5k likes
"Big places sucks" - Kurt Cobain
Hello from São Paulo, keep slaping
Chaaaarles 😃
i guess you could say they collaborate and listened?
Great job
That was a truly epic moment in bass history!!
Charles: think you could be the world's best bass player (and a decent chap too) :)
I loved your videos of you playing your original composition and Under Pressure with all those musicians
Fantastic mind sync!!! Bravo! 👏🏻
It's tough enough to keep 6 people organized on stage much less hundreds or a thousand!
Marvellous!!
Смотрел их версию «Smells Like Teen Spirit» - это самое эпичное, что я видел. Спасибо!
bro could you show what you play in the video 200 drums 1 bass solo, greetings
pros to the max
400 amps in the stadium? How *did* you pull this off? 😅
I was there, just hoping not to rain and thinking on the rehearsals when I saw him... Though was "Woah, that guy is really similar to Charlie!". And then I've realized... And then I've freaked out hahaha
8:17 is that Joaquin Phoenix? 😆This was incredible to watch. Beyond impressive work, Charles!
WOW, talk about vibration...
Shit I should have auditioned this year
