Thank you :)

That keyboard arrangement was amazzing! He took a nice bass line and built a whole world around it that felt like it fit perfectly.
He clearly should have won..

where do we get a full version of this keyboard challenge performance?
I would pay good money to see a concert with these 2.
You can't just make a grown man cry like that... the final solo where you and that bass make beautiful music together was like doing one final thing with a loved one before saying goodbye.
yes 🙌🏻 Thank you! Love the way your words describes exactly the feeling I Experienced watching the final solo performed
Right!? It was really upsetting. Beautiful but upsetting.
I definitely cried. No shame.
what is the title of this song please tell me
i need a copy of his last bass solo the track and a copy of the sheet music
Woaaaah I didn't expect this! Thank you so much Charles for the second place 😍😍😍

I agree
Agree!!!! He deserved to win! Such a great young talent!
I agree
D best by far ;D
At age 79, and as a melodic guitarist, I have long argued that this is how bass should be played. I am indebted to you Charles for educating audiences about the real way to play music.
oh my god! 3rd place! thank you so much charles!!
Your solo was great!
For the record, I thought you played the most tastefully out of everyone. I think you deserved 1st place!
I'm suscribed to your channel. I have to transcribe some of your videos!!! I love your content! ;)
Danny Lundmark thank you !
Cambio de Rumbo thank you!!
8:10 that entire arrangement sounds like a MarioKart track
On god
Lol, I thought the same while editing it 😅
Or maybe a Dream Theater passage xD
you mean as a compliment ? ^^
@@K-R-O-L Sure. I regret not adding "for a moment" to the comment though.
I loved the tempo and groove from that set. For it to appear more like Dream Theater change the funk for progressive. I love both. Herbie!
My 2 year old son fought sleep, rolled all over the bed, refusing a nap...... until your final playing. He scootched over, laid hid head on my shoulder, and WATCHED until the end. When you create music that makes toddlers STOP and pay attention, you've made something truly magical.
Man the solo in the end of the video is something else, I would listen to that all day long.... U are very creative mate
I am absolutely obsessed. I’m a drummer and my secondary instrument is a guitar, and this solo alone made me pick up a bass. Specifically the one note where he slides his hands in opposite directions. Gives me chills.
It sounds like ammonia avenue by the alan parson project
Loved the ending solo. Reminds me a bit of solo bass work in Versailles. ua-cam.com/video/niAl_paNrh0/v-deo.htmlm27s
I must be sensitive but i cried a little.
I didn't even know you could do that with a bass, that's amazing

Yes, which at the same time made me think that the mario kart part and the song it plays when you complete a Sonic 3 Giant Ring area are pretty similar.
Adam Neely lick? Is T H E L I C K
Dark Puzzle that’s “the lick”
That arrangement kicked so much ass
You're my new favorite composer. I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to find the words to tell you why.
Your playing vividly brings to my awareness how crude is the written language in communicating ideas and emotions...it speaks clearly, full, and direct, without impedance.
Is there a full version of the solo you played at the end of the video? That actually made me cry, Charles. You win. You are the artist.
I'm dying to get a full version of that!! It was incredible!
It's not exactly what he played but it definitely felt inspired by Lilium: ua-cam.com/video/RFnazAsMOQI/v-deo.html

This is one of my all time favorite UA-cam videos, ever. The level of talent from around the globe is humbling. That Fodera had some WICKED tone !!!
Wow. Everything was really cool, but i was almost tearing on multi-keyboard-studio-production version
Oh, thank you very much :D
@@midapiano You're amazing, dude 💪
@@midapiano Your bassline was cool and cheeky groovy as an answer to a bass virtuosity challenge. And it worked well because the overall keyboard "band" was full of music vibe. It is a nice contrast

Also, Antonio looked like the only dude who didn’t already own a $1000 bass.
Lyn Ayra that’s probably had something to do with it.

Yea maybe thats one of the reason he won instead of key guy or expensive bass guy (like cmon does he need $1000 bass lol). Antonio still great tho
I played my entry with a 1$ flute made by me out of a Pvc pipe. xD
But... I didn't get the "cheapest instrument award"
The song at the end is L'Amour Est Bleu (Love is Blue), ARRANGEMENT by CB.
Thank you so much! I was about to ask the question until I saw your comment :-D
I’m not musically talented or even know what I’m talking about when it comes to music, but I really dig the bass and watching you and the others jam is really cool, thanks.

The guy with the end of his bass missing should have won - he clearly needs a full length bass.
Lamo! Checkmate!
Right ?!? But what are gonna do with one-and-a-half basses?
It has a nob to adjust octaves its pretty crazy
Yeah. He was a great player too.
This comment is gold. The true irony is that he's actually the only other one using a La Fey custom bass, the same brand Charles uses in most of his videos. That bass is worth 10x the amount the schecter is worth. I HIGHLY suggest checking out Le Fay basses, they're gorgeous works of art. :)
Seriously though, I will pay you for the sheet music for that solo at the end, it is absolutely beautiful. I play the drums myself and my secondary instrument is a guitar. This solo alone made me pick up a bass (literally). The one note where you slide your fingers away from each other not only is a beautiful note, but the symbolism that lies within it for the separation of you and your bass, as well as the fact that it’s the two furthest strings from each other and moving in opposite directions... I just love The Whole thing. I’m serious about buying the sheet music. 😂 found this channel from Davie’s channel and honestly I think I like this one more.
L Amour Est bleu ,Blue love.
Wow. You win just for this post!

Honestly, this just became one of my favorite videos I've ever watched. I loved how you described the things you liked about their playing, definitely *PRO* level reviews. Hopefully by the next time you do something like this, I'll feel confident enough in my own playing to submit a video ❤
.i'm right with you, i can't believe this talent!
I've never seen a classical pianist play bass... but this is what I would imagine it to be like. Really amazing. Bravo.

You're really on to something here Charles. The quality of the contestants has been mindblowing, clearly a reflection of what your own content attracts.
Whoa, there's a lot of talent out there. Kudos to everyone who took part, including the non-bassists, every one of them were great.
omg that final solo you played actually hit me in the best kind of way! It had a final fantasy mixed with legend of zelda kinda feel to it. Incredible!! Keep it up brother.
What an amazing bass solo you composed at the end. The fact that it's the last one you write before parting with that bass makes it quite poetic too, thanks for sharing that!
Oh my, the last one, goin from Megalovania to The Lick to some Mario Kart-esque thing. Amazing

I loved listening to all the players here; but the last song (your rendition), so, so beautiful ~ My heart is delighted, thank you!!

Oh Charles, you hardly ever fail to give me goosebumps! You are The Dooo among bassists in that regard. Maybe you should do a collab with him. He seems to be a genuinely nice person like you and is a very talented guitarist. Aaybe you even already know him from UA-cam :)

How much of the Davie audience has shifted here??? Tap like😅😂
I actually *moved* here
I prefer to *slapp* it
I love them both, I have option to follow both right? ^_^
I love Davie, but I often prefer the less talk and more playing approach of Charles. Sometimes watching Davie videos can feel a bit exhaustive and repetitive.
Idk how you could shift channels, they are different, and if it weren't for davie Charles wouldn't be as famous as he is at all, plus I slapp is better than tapp
I watched numerous other 8-string bass videos and they weren't all that inspiring,,, BUT THEN,,, I saw a couple of your videos and they killed me! I started playing 8-string bass in 1968. I bought a Hagstrom as soon as I heard about Noel Redding playing one. I was playing in a loud trio that played a lotta great gigs opening for everybody who came through Florida. I played 8-string on about half of our tunes. I played thru 2 Ampeg BT25 heads, each driving a cabinet with 2 SRO 15's. I had one amp on both sides of the stage and when they were loud and clean they sounded like octaves played on a grand piano. I even bought a second one as a spare, but one night they were both stolen from my car. I started playing bass and guitar in Mudcrutch about then, so 8-string wasn't really needed. But I've been wanting to get one again for recording and if there's ever live music again in my lifetime, I'd love to play some aggressive music on an 8-string. Anyway, Charles, you're a True MoFo! Thanks, cuz I needed to hear something as good as what your videos dished out!
I feel like Charles didn’t play the solo at the end for us.. it was for the bass. He didn’t wanna see her go, but had no choice. :(
Do you happen to know the title?
