- JD Vance said at a conference for conservatives last week that the UK could become "the first truly Islamist country that will get a nuclear weapon" after Labour's victory in the General Election.
As the UK already has nuclear weapons, it appears the 39-year-old Ohio senator was joking that the UK was on track to becoming dominated by radical Islam.
He told the National Conservatism conference on Thursday: "I have to beat up on the UK - just one additional thing. I was talking with a friend recently.

Why should the UK be a major partner of the US? The culture is completely different. The US is a Christian nation and the UK is going through a process of Islamic conversion. The US under Trump is better doing deals with countries like Russia that have natural resources than the UK which is broke, poor, no resources and fast becoming Islamic instead of free.
As an American, JD’s take is completely disingenuous. One of the Republican phrases they like to frequent when foreigners comment about America is “Focus on your country, you’re not qualified to talk about America.” But then he turns around and does the same thing.
