Spot on in your descriptions. When I test rode that thing I was blown away at how a foot forward "cruiser" can handle like that (almost as good as my Monster) and with a tire like that AND with that amount of bananas torque! I want one bad...
I bought one, got brand new 2017 XDiavel S for $18500 zero meter from Greenville, SC delivered to my home in Atlanta metro. Got it yesterday. Dude LOVE IT!!!
thanks for the review man. Right now I am on a 07 Screaming Eagle Vrod. Love the bike, but am a little bored with it. Was thinking about a Supersport, even though I am 43. Then, I ran across this thing!! Been looking up reviews for the passed hour. Was glad to hear that you have ridden a Vrod and could compare the 2. Now gotta find me a Ducati dealer and schedule a test ride.
Pictures do not do any justice, I thought it was alright looking until I saw one at Revzilla's boutique... my god is it beautiful. Even my Harley rider dad said he loved it. Great video though
C'mon brotha join the Diavel army! Lol Go try the Diavel Carbon and call me when you buy it! It is awesome to ALWAYS get noticed. Great review as always bro!
MtnMoto what’s the main/biggest differences in your opinion between the X Diavel and the Diavel? (Forward pegs are a given). Same engine and seems like a very similar bike, but I’d prefer an owner give me their input before dropping the $. I’m leaning Diavel 1262 S hard!
Thanks for the review. I am thinking about upgrading to the Xdiavel from my 2015 Diavel Dark. To start with the negatives, the neutral issue and rear brake pedal sponginess are carryovers from the Diavel. At 3500 miles I still cant find neutral 75% of the time. But those are minor complaints. Otherwise the Diavel has been the best bike I have ever owned, without a doubt. I am 6' 3" and the Diavel fits me like a glove. Not sure if I am going to like the forward foot pegs on the Xdiavel as I much prefer the Diavel's traditional pegs. Forward pegs kill my back and coccyx. Hopefully the Xdiavel with the forward pegs is different or I will be sticking with my Diavel. I am looking forward to trying out the XDiavel and see how different it is as the XDiavel is delivering max torque at 5000 rmp instead of my Diavel's 9000 RPM. That is probably why the XDiavel had better pull than the 1200R. Thanks again for the review!
Great video! Too much coming off a 250 cruiser (it was way too slow and weak for me)? Want a commuter on the highway 30 min trip and have a thing for Ducati. Also must have forward controls due to a hip issue. Money not an issue.
Hey, this is an awesome, awesome video. Congratulations and I really love how this bike sounds (imagine it with a bloody Termignioni). Everything about the video and the bike is awesome. Congrats!
i own a 2016 and u riding logic has so much similarity wit me. try going closer to that mirror, it leans sooo good nd trust it! tat left mirror becomes loose aftr three mnths coz i tink the design of exhaust and virbrations. rear brake is nw fixed aftr my ducati recall notice. its totally worth 23k man. u cannt get such beauty for tat price. love ur video!!!
Ok so between two 1000+ cc Ducati's such as the Monster and the xDiavel...what would you choose and why? I am debating between those two, but an extra factor for me to consider is taking a passenger as well.
Afternoon Kischardio, I recently subbed, thoroughly enjoy your test rides and videos. I recently bought a brand new 2016 X Ducati Diavel S and I couldn't be happier. I felt the same on my test ride, even though I test rode the 2017. Do you know if there are any differences between the 16 and 17? Also, how much do you weigh if you don't mind me asking? I know what you mean, my feet lift a little even when I'm full on the throttle, however, I can still keep my feet on the pegs.
The Ghost neutral gear is a real pain in the rear. My 2015 Diavel has this problem. It's a great bike, but this is a problem that hasn't ever gotten any better.
Great review!! Just bought a 2017 Pro street 3 days ago, but you got me thinking to change up. I also have the 2106 Multisrada and thought it'd be to close to the same experience . Your thoughts?
awesome review thinking about buying one in a few days. hopefully you see this in time but do you think it would be a good bike for a long haul 6 - 8 hour ride?
It looks like everything earlier Diavel owners would say "if only it had ____" got put on the XDiavel. My brother has the 2013 which is how I know. I heard him.
the one thing that just murders this and the breakout s with a stage 3 screaming eagle kit to me, is that if you ever want to ride for 6+ hrs or go on a multiday or week trip, i highly doubt you would enjoy those bikes on those types of rides. but damn if its not tempting.
I want that bike so bad but like you said keeping your feet on the foot pegs is impossible at speeds due to the front leg extension. I think wider foot pegs with and aggressive bite are in order.
For the emergency brakes, did you use primarily your rear or your front tire (and did you use both brakes as well at the same time)? You are a wonderful Motorvlogger! Also I have to ask: Could you do a Monster 797 review? It's because most people who want to start riding including myself look at the Monster 797 as a potential first bike, but there aren't that many American based reviews except European ones on the 797 as a first ride. Also, would you recommend a Monster 797 or a Harley Iron 883 as a first bike? I know they are very different bikes but despite the heavy weight which is its disadvantage, the slower but highly controllable old 883 engine is much more manageable that won't make a person go crazy which makes the Iron 883 a decent first bike. However, there's the Monster 797 which has all of the Traction control and ABS standard while being much more lighter which is easier for the first time rider. Be that as it may, the torquey and high HP engine might be much despite people saying how linear it actually is. From seeing these vids, it seems scary to ride a Monster when the vlogger guns it despite them also saying how easily controllable the linear throttle is which makes it a great first bike. I love both Ducatis and Harleys. Initially, the Harley Iron 883 seems much more manageable for a firs time rider, but the weight is extremely heavy for a first timer.Once again, even though the Monster 797 is much more lighter while having both a linear throttle response and both ABS and Traction control standard, it seems that one could go way too fast on it which could lead to an accident. Thanks for your reviews, sir!
Wow what amazing bike i have to go look at this BEAST in person. I like the fast forward effect you used too. lol you were for sure having a more fun on that bike compared to the monster.
DTD RIDER lol dude there are literally no fast-forward effects anywhere in this video. The low end acceleration is that absurd. Like I said, "Doesn't feel physically possible."
I purchase the monster are just about 5 months ago or less and it has been a pain in the ass I love the bike but it will not start if it's below 50 degrees which is a problem for me and have had it go into failsafe many times and shut power down. the dealership is a very competent dealership that I have great luck with and a great service department I am just hoping they figure this thing out because none of their other customers that purchase this bike are having the issues I am and this is Ducati number 6 for me.
Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde damn. Thanks for the input man. I love the bike, I'm just scared of the other half Ducati experience. Btw nice channel. Can't wait to see what you do this summer
thank you very much I am a gyro bike Ducati Ambassador LOL I by no means and bashing this bike It's just sometimes there are issues with new products and new vehicles in general. after you write it with the termi exhaust and up map the bike is awesome in the Ohlin suspension is an absolute Magic Carpet Ride
Great video. Never been on a Ducati but you made me want to own one. Wish I could add Ducati to my review list but will have to settle for your amazing videos for now.=#
Hahaha i bought one last april one of the first to land my province lol loved it so much traded my vrod off for 1299 panegali and ive been harley rider all my life lol !! Not no more thou lmao love ducatis now
good and honest review but I was looking for some info on insurance cost and maintenence cost. that would really help me. I used to own 883 harley sportstar. is it a big step up?
+benson hedge it's a massive... massive step up. Different galaxy. I've been on both bikes, and it's not like the Xdiavel is hard to ride... but the power will melt your brain if you felt satisfied with the 883
any chance this would be a good first bike? seriously though...I've never ridden a motorcycle before...ever. I just figured with all the electronic Wizardry, the bike could be tameable for a beginner, am I wrong?
Hi everybody can you please give me some suggestions on how to verify with videotape and a go pro hero 4 silver my 1299S when it intermittently and randomly and unexpectedly stalls out? Every time i take it to the dealer they said they can't duplicate the problem and Ducati of North America video taped my bike with no problems. But my 1299s still stalls out on me in congested stop in go traffic all the time and when I feather the clutch and drive between 0 to 15 mph on the street or freeway or on the street. However I'm an amateur and I just purchased a hero 4 go pro silver camera do you have suggestions on how to mount it to the 1299S gas tank ? I'm concerned with losing the camera what type a suction mount the go pro hero 4 camera? What I should use and what can I use in case the suction loses its grip to keep the camera from damaging the motorcycle and the camera in case it falls thanks advance for everything. The dealer said prove the 1299s is stalling out with video verification because they claim everything is checking out A ok on the computer test sheet with Ducati engineers and Ducati video tape that they won't show me What would you do? Thanks in advance for everything.
'black out drunk, lets go for it'.....nice summation. You did me right with this review, left right dip is important to me as well. And you used some of that motor for us so thanks. I would like it but at $23K I need some serious savings build up on this one.
+Crazy Me the wide handlebar is amazing for handling. I’m currently looking at some premium naked bikes in the $18K range... and this bike is still a whopping $6k more! Insane
And to think for the same price you could get a harley.....lol. Why or how anyone could test drive this cruiser and then actually purchase a harley is insane.
P Banks: I can answer that for you with a legitimate answer. For the price, at least here in Canada, a Diavel/XDiavel is easily 3 to 5 grand more expensive than Harley's cruiser line up (I said cruiser, not tourer, they're not the same categories) The most expensive one is the breakout and is around 22 grand, while the Diavel is 25 grand, according to my local dealership website. Remember, this is in Canada, it might be different somewhere else. Then Harley are mostly bought because of the look, feel and attitude towards it, the majority of motovlogger I've watched who eventualy try a recent Harley are surprised at the feel and refinement (yes refinement, trust me) of it. Then there is the aftermarket customization option which is just insane. The paint and finish of a Harley is also quite premium. Modern Harley with the 103ci engine are fairly reliable too, despite what the haters may think, but no matter your opinion on this, Ducati has quite the reputation for being unreliable and high maintenance cost. Lastly, like it or not, Harley is the most recognized, most succesfull motorcycle brand in the world, there's a reason why when someone talk about a cruiser/tourer, most people picture a Harley. So they must definitively be doing something right.
fred Brochu I have owned two Harleys and three Ducatis. The Harleys were far less reliable than my Ducatis. Old myths and reputations die hard, but Ducati is doing things right.
I don't know anything about bikes and can't afford a bike yet. but... 1.dream bike 1- Daytona 675r. mechanical reasons 2. Kawasaki h2r the unrealistic dream bike the best bike art for me with a aftermarket exhaust because the stock on makes the bike look so terrible
I've heard that it's faster than the Diavel, but is that the X Diavel S or just the standard Diavel? After experiencing the XDS, that claim sounds physically impossible... but if anything can, it's gotta be the Vmax. I'm going to try and get a test on the Vmax next season and hopefully I can experience it first hand!
I think that was the standard Diavel, but don't quote me on that. Reading on them both I think it will be damn close, but still saying the Max will win. Duc wins in handling for sure, but who needs to turn. lol
"That 2nd gear hits like a Godzilla karate punch". I'm sold.

Never underestimate long-wheelbase bikes with a big engine and huge rear tyre.
+Soft Kitty Lol well said
Just bought a 2016 model with only 600mls on the clock, love it! Did you notice big vibes through the seat in top gears when putting the power on?
What an awesome ride!!! Loved this video! Thanks man!
+john rodriguez thanks man! You can't avoid fun on this bike!
AMAZING BIKE AND DESIGN!
Oh and if you want loud check out the Zard cans.

Kischardio I bought the bike and got a tremi exhaust well see how she does ! Time to start Moto vloggin
David Lakin congratulations!!!!
I have a 2015 Diavel Carbon. I can't imagine doing 6 hours on it. I'd look to the Monster for long periods of rides.

lmao dont lie bro hey if special effects gets you views than go for it.
are you sure it's not "hitting harder" since you're sitting more up right and it easily throws you back that way?
Excellent vid. Thanks.
the x is faster than monster r. neutral is rough until broke in. the bike is very cool.. I own both. and a diavel titanium. like the x more.
Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde wow that's quite a collection. Sounds incredible. How long have you had the monster R, and any issues?

The Breakout and Diavel although in the same category, but are day and night in comparison.
is there difference between this and the 2016 model?
+Kofi Ampofo Boadi no changes that I am aware of
Xdiavel s vs cvo pro street breakout. What would you get?
oscar ruiz x diavel s 10 out of 10 times. Best all around motorcycle I think I've ever been on, and the power is straight up alien
which one is the prefer ? x diavel s - cvo prostreet breakout help me :)
+dbarx2 xdiavel s every time if you're an aggressive rider. Breakout is definitely more about cruising
video's summary :"oh my god!!!" xdd(awesome video,subbed)
I knew u were in ct but not downtown new haven 😂😂
What is your jacket?
Nick Brown Dainese Super Speed Textile jacket. Highly recommended.
I want that bike so f***ing much
I don't know anything about bikes and can't afford a bike yet.
but...
1.dream bike 1- Daytona 675r. mechanical reasons
2. Kawasaki h2r the unrealistic dream bike the best bike art for me with a aftermarket exhaust because the stock on makes the bike look so terrible
hahaha Ducati and Neutral...impossible to get in N :)
Think you could get ride a 2009-2017 Yamaha V-Max? It's faster than the Diavel in a straight line...
Duc wins in handling for sure, but who needs to turn. lol
I like the look of the Max better, but that's just me.
Yeah, reading on the forums is supporting that, Xdiavel is slower. Not sure what the difference in the Xdiavel and Xdiavel S is though.
Interesting on the look. I think both look good, but the Duc in person just blew my mind. Hopefully I can get out there on the Vmax next season!
This vid review fucks. 💪🏾🤙🏾
It's a fucking beast!!!
Hot Bike, but the Ducati Maintenance Bullshit, and upkeep is a nightmare.
Epic, epic bike. The best total package motorcycle I've ever been on. But yes, dealing with Ducati is daunting
mine mine mine
Italian bike...
Great bike but way too over priced. you can find other bikes of this quality for way cheaper.
Where are the police, for the high-speed
OMG......omg.....oooooomg....omg..omg..omg..OMG..OMG....OOoooMGGGGG....omg..omg...ooomggg...OMG
I personaly thinks it a mutt, it,s not a cruiser ,not a naked bike, not a chopper, and the pilliion sucks.
