I’ve been riding bikes for 40 years. I’ve had at least one bike from every genre ranging from fast sports bikes (Fireblade) to big cruisers (VN2000) to BMW GSA etc etc. I confess to still getting a kick from ‘spirited riding’ despite most of my bike mates having slowed down (got all kinda ‘old and sensible’) and me suffering from bad knees. I even wondered if my biking days were coming to an end ….. And then I discovered the Ducati XDiavel S!!! Hell yeah, what a beast of a bike! My inner big kid/bad kid loves it, my knackered knees love it lots, my adrenaline desire is 100% satisfied and then some! I’ve done more miles on my XDS in a few months than I do most other bikes in a year+. I really do think this a bike you don’t appreciate until you’ve ridden one and your video goes some way to showing that. If you’re currently in two minds whether to buy one, get it test ridden and get it bought!! 👹
I am buying this bike tomorrow. I lived in Germany for a couple years back in the 80's and the ride and scenery brought tears to my eyes. thank you for the gift!
Like I said before I also have an XDIAVEL and it is essentially a superbike set up (brakes, fully adjustable suspension, engine, ECU, 9 different ABS settings, Launch control,...) but it's seating position is cruiser (except maybe for the overly stiff rear suspension). Last week I took the new Monster 1200 for a day, thight corners are better but for the rest XDIAVEL beats it in every sense. Just imagine driving a comfortable cruiser position and still being able to make most litre bikes eat your dust. For me this is the ultimate Ducati I was waiting for, everybody has his/her own opinion, but if you get the chance drive this beast for a day and I am sure your troubles will fade away and you will have a smile on your face. I just wanted to say a few more things... Does it need all the high-tech? For me personally NO, I will probably never use the ducati power launch because I think that if you need electronics to go fast in a straight line you need to work on your riding skills. The traction control and full ABS is only on in urban mode for very bad roads or weather. In sports mode I set ABS to minimum and traction control off because it bothers me when I'm coming out of a corner 'hot'. In my experience the engine feels best between 4000 and 8000 rpm, if you want the old skool Harley shake you can keep it under 3500 rpm and you still have more than enough torque. Remember this is an evolution of the 1198 Panigale block: bigger bore, variable valve timing, different valve time overlap and different mapping can only do so much. You can try to tame a lion but it will always be a lion.
I bought one !! Had vrod before that than after bought xdiaval vrod was boreing so traded it for 1299 panigale hahah now i have best both worlds love ducatis
I rode an XDiavel twice before and I wasn't surprised because I have also ridden the the original Diavel. It is definitely the only "cruiser" bike I know that can carve corners like this.
Good ride and very enjoyable. I really like the low exhaust note the bike makes at low revs when you crank the throttle hard for a short burst of strong power then change up. That low "throaty" sound (3:27 and 3:34 etc) is cool. I love the twisties on this road, not to slow but sharp enough to respect them. Great video. As Always Ride And Speed Safe.
Always enjoy your videos Schaaf. Not the usual approach to a mountain pass from a cruiser rider. But we all ride in our own way and style. The only thing that matters is that you get off the bike in one piece at the end of the ride still smiling. Peace man keep enjoying your riding.
Schaaf incredible driving man! This is the kind of videos we want to watch on youtube! Ducati Xdiavel S is my favorite bike, it is a pity I will never have money to take one, I will only drive it in my dreams!
Amazing! 😍 I had never thought that such a big cruiser could be so enjoyable in curvy mountain roads. I was wrong. By the way, first the Multistrada and now the XDiavel... merci Kiddo! You're definitely right about the Ducatis. I'd love to try more. Although I wish a cheaper manufacturer would've found its way to my heart ahahahaha (glad I seem to be able to enjoy almost all bikes anyway)
Just bought XDiavel! it's like a big book with a lot of surprises. Thought that is romantic stories, but it surplisly about James Bond , what a machine! Thanks for raw video, your style is crazy!
Hi, am retired 71 year old, and yesterday sold my zx10rr Winter Edition superbike to one who will appreciate what that bike is, and set out for quiet ride on my 2020 Ducati Diavel_1260, what a machine, such handling, power, comfort and looks. This new bike had scratches down left side, so 7 panels repainted, wow, does she look something, lightly used silicon spray over and it darkened the paint, slightly different room few remaining panels, now, find me a Diavel_1260 that looks better. This machine will stay with 1000cc machines up to 160mph, blow away many of them. Enjoy safe riding.
Love love love your channel! Picked up hoping on a moped again after 20 years! tested the GS, the V-Storm and 1000sx, doing 2.5k in my first year back. Am very close on closing the deal for the sx to spend my weekend (missus permitting) up and down the Swiss and Austrian hills; but then I stumpled across the diavel and xdiavel (online only so far) - such character bikes, man, I need to reconsider... - safe travels, cello
Nice video, don't know if this bike you rode has the termignomi exhaust or not, mine does and it has changed it from the stock bike to a total beast. Throttle response is so much crisper and the bike goes a lot harder now. Perfect road for a great machine.
hey man don´t know if you read this or not: I really like the idea of those on screen comments with the sound effect. It is much less... confrontating is the word i guess (hope you understand what i mean with that) than someone screaming into a microphone at speed while having trouble to finish his sentences because he has to ride a unknown bike on a unknown road. Keep it up!
Wow! That was thrilling actually seeing a great rider tear through the twisties on a diavel. I've never seen that before. Sorry for commenting on your old videos. Just recently came across your chan. Love your stuff. Glad you calmed down a bit with the road racing. It's exciting as hell to watch though, better than an action movie.
I did the same thing twice on my Fatbob with the forward controls, not on the race track just on a opposite camber corner, my ankle still gets twinges sometimes. Great to see you giving death to a cruiser. They deserve a good rider giving them a good caning just to show you can.
Nice riding my man! And wow what a road to do it on.. Nice work. I own one and although they do have their faults and can never see me getting rid of it. To this date it is the longest I have ever owned a bike. Which says a lot
When I test rode a cruiser a couple of years back, it was hilarious fun! I was so awkward on it. You did much better than me. Surprisingly, it turned out to be one of my most popular videos even though I put very little effort into it and expected few views! If only I was rich, I'd love to have a Diavel as well! lol
off-brand cruisers often get lumped-in with the likes of harley for poor performance but can surprise most riders with their capability! I had the 2014 Honda NM4 Vultus and even though it had an NC750x engine, was a recumbent riding position it had upside down forks, disk brakes front and rear, ABS, TCS and the frame design was incredibly clever in terms of weight distribution and balance. Every one of my friends mocked it until they rode it!
before saying anything i want to say that i am a car guy who drives daily ,not even close to an avid bike rider, you can just say i know to ride bikes of less than 20hp thats it........ till date i have ridden only 2 big cc bikes(atleast for me) a triumph t100-classic position and hyosung aquila 650-cruiser position.......when i sat 1st time on a bike with 61horses i.e bonnie (also it was me riding a bike of after 2 years dead, not even a touch) and released that clutch, i was like 'Gurdit they made to sign u you that piece of paper + have a copy of ur license+this thing wants to get out of your 2 legs like that horse on the ranch and ram into the wall= you are GAPED.... after fighting with that leash called clutch for a mile, the only thing that inspired little confidence in me was that classic seat position with pegs under me,though it had no abs and brakes were like 'really! u want me to shed speed like that', i still felt like somehow i can make it stop atleast. Secondly, i drove Aquila right after that like 6months and again no riding in between, the moment i tilted left and right to change directions and press the brake far on the right....i felt like i was pressing the clutch of a truck and this thing will stop never stop ur done for good Gurdit......i never felt control of the Bike, it was like 'so loose' if u know wat i mean, like braking when u have a trailer at the back of your car...the biggest one ' like u r an 8 year old reaching into the den beneath to press that brake in the car! maybe that particular cruiser,,i feel the inertia is always against u in cruisers if u , i like cruisers, the way they look, and even want to buy one.... and now i see your video i m like da faq thats a t100 ridin confidence and not a cruiser one ! is it the way all cruisers seating position is? thoughts
Nice roads you have over there. I see the light weight allowed a lot of flicking. I wouldn't be able to do that on my M109R......nice riding and no music except the Ducati. 👍
sometimes it seems the video was accelarated. what a beast of a bike. do you think wider pegs would help in the overall position on the bike an confort?
Great spirited ride to Share :) that's the same Bike I demo'd last year...but it was a guided ride, nothing as entertaining and beautiful views this Edit had from the Trees 🌲 to the Higher plains to the top! I agree, it's the next generation of a sport cruiser!
Helllll yeahhhh.. First time I see you in cruiser man! awesome, now you know what I feel riding my Shwarley on the Belgian and German curvy roads with my forward control pegs heheh, my boots are all scrapped on the hills.. just the out side part of them ;) Nice video as usual buddy, and a fk nice machine you rode there!! R.I.P. \m/ Ride in peace
Foot pegs set forward aren't ideal for sharp cornering they're meant for comfort that's why you see them alot on cruisers, you can set them back(closer to the exhaust) like on Super sport or nakeds so it's easier to apply force on them to make the bike more stable at lower lean angles+they make it easy to hug the tank with your legs,so you don't upset the supension,i'm sure you know all this you just didn't understand what i mean, right LOL??
Always entertaining to watch your videos riding along these mountain passes, did you had the chance to ride the Monster 821? I would love to see a footage riding that motorcycle?
Hey Schaaf bloody god video mate, you do soon get to grips with that beast for sure. Do you think you could tour the alps on that bike? Ha ha no sure I would want to unless it had like a quick shifter up and down. Ride safe buddy
When you down shift , you do one thing a quick accelerate and leave near turn , is it helps engine to control wisely less sound or pressure on the engine ' or most important how you do that you give quick accelerate and release by pressing clutch or something else i want to learn ( during turns and downshift )
Great first ride love the video I bought one after this video went for a test it’s everything you showed in the video nothings perfect but the Diavel is a good try
Nice video Schaaf, very pleased to find someone "giving it a handfull" and the change downs are not always required but that is not why we do them eh? Audio is part of the experience nicht wahr? Just to be clear, the speedo is reading in kph right? Because I found it a lot harder than you appeared to at that speed, due to the wind and hanging on for grim death! :-) lol
if i may comment... You drove it as a 2 stroke engine (as if a 125cc). You had torque under your arse, you should know that you must maintain high gears on the right amount of torque in order to explore the best ratio. Nevertheless, i like what i have just seen. Thanks for your experience. Cheers from Portugal
u nailed it bro.. next time lean on it like superbike with helmets near the handle bar, one knee close to tank, other knee scrapping and hands hanging you will be more surprised howmuch you can push this beast! I own it and love it.. daily commute in touring mode and mountain on sport mode! u hav great skills buddy! i still remembr coming out of a curve at 70mph when test riding lol.
superbe video endroit superbe moto superbe et quel pilote bravo .dommage que je comprend pas tout car francais mais pas grave j adore quand meme .tchao
I have one though, and to be honest I hated the wheels at first sight. I changed them for the Marchesinis (similar to the wheels Downshift83 has, but all black, not grey) and the bike looked ALOT meaner. But I guess it's a matter of preference.
Hey Schaaf love your videos! I think it will be pretty awesome if you try out the Honda CBR500R 2016 due to in paper it has a similar engine of your cb500 1994. Thanks man keep up with your amazing content!
I was laughing at the way you described this as it reminded me of my experience with my own current bike. I was used to riding sports and sports-tourers, my previous bike being an XJR 1300SP, but last year I switched to my very first cruiser, a Victory Gunner. It has quite a limited lean angle and is a heavy bike. Although I enjoyed riding the bike it took a while to wrap my head around having this big v twin cruiser, scraping the pegs and jumping around the gearbox with a little less grace than usual thanks to the ridiculous torque and unfamiliar ratios. But...once it all comes together, it's a ridiculously fun bike to ride. Although it's a cruiser the pegs are closer to a sports position than you usually find in that kind of bike, and except for the lean angle it handles ridiculously well. The exhaust is pure pipe porn, no matter which way the throttle is going, with loads of satisfying pops and rumbles when changing down. And that lean angle thing, it actually adds a new dimension to the ride, forcing you to always be ready for the next corner - you can't come in a little too hot and just throw the bike over a bit further to compensate. As a result I feel a lot more connected to the bike, always engaging with it, and every corner puts a big grin on my face. Of course my pegs and hangers are a little bit worse for wear 😊 It was a bit of a learning curve but now it is my favourite bike, and the one thing I thought might bother me, having to limit my corner speed, turns out to be part of the fun of riding and it always feels satisfying to successfully negotiate some twistys as fast as possible with it. Good times! 😁
Your video's are great! looks amazing! I just can't help to say that, on high power and high torque bikes like this, it looks very choppy when you go to first gear in a lot of corners. I'd personally leave it in second gear cause it's smoother and faster. I can completely undestand you do it on the cb500, but this is no cb500. but then again, great video!
I personally take it down into first because I like to wrestle bikes plus I want to use most of its power. The XDiavel S has incredible torque available at low revs but its peak is actually around 8K rpm. That's where I want to be and in tight corners I'd fall way below in second gear.
Schaaf in really slow corners I completely agree, and yes me too I love to wrestle the bike, but for example from like 9:20 to 9:40 it's really better to leave it in second. what I see from your driving, is that you only open the throttle in first once you put the bike up straight because of the simple reason you have to shift so quick because the gear is short and you are in high rpm. I used to do that too, but when you put it in second you have more control and can open more under lean angle, which is key to fun, making the bike slide a little or close to sliding and a way faster corner exit, which makes it more dynamic and playful. learned that when I went from sv650n to ZX6R and back to sv650, first drive smoother, then when you drive faster and faster in a smooth way you will get into the play(sliding) zone again :)
should've seen me riding the Z900 on Friday. Smooth as f*ck. I massively appreciate feedback like yours because you for a fact know what you're talking about. But I get super pissed because sometimes people complain about my high-rev riding simply because they themselves lack the skill and balls to keep their own bike "up there". Thanks for the advice, I'm steadily improving.
Schaaf thanks man, I am not Valentino Rossi either, but I treat riding as a science and like to analyse what I'm doing and how to improve and others as well. keep up the good work, and keep making great video's! when I'm back in my country I'm going to start to make some videos of my own :) and yeahh.. people think in right and wrong.. but it's never right or wrong, you can do things different that is good or bad in its own way. I'm glad you understand!
hi Schaaf, I'm lucky enough to have the non-s version and your ride reminds me exactly why I bought it. Weird at first, then very soon touching the pegs down (I now have a little bag of spare hero blobs :0)). So I've tried to video my rides with friends but always end up with disappointing results. I know this is a really nerdy/lame question but would you mind telling what video cam/mic setup you used here? I'm guessing it was mounted on the chin bar (probably zoomed in some), but how come there's pretty much no wind noise? Anyhow, you've inspired me to book go sort out some routes for this years trip to Portugal and surprise some "fast" bikes ;0)
Waited so long for a cruiser video :D Not quite what I had imagined but it works! Awesome. How about I lend you my Yammy xvs 1300. It has all the cliches! Floorboards saddlebags and stuff. Also no real leanangle and a windscreen. A Propper cruiser! LOL
Hi. I have a speed triple 2011, but I'm thinking of moving to xdiavel s. I would like to know, based on your experience, What are the main driving differences between the two bikes? Would you recommend a diavel to a person like me who likes sporty driving? Thanks.
Absolutely love Diavels! Loved the design, then rode one, which made me love how it feels, the power, the surprisingly easy and fairly responsive handling. I'll have one one day. One question, though: didn't you feel like it wanted to be used in a lower rev range at times? I had the feeling that you were used to revhappy bikes (not sure how, after the GS :P) and wanted to use it up high in the rpms, but if it's anything like the previous Diavel, then it's all torque and midrange. Other than that, obviously a brilliant video. :D (That 599 GTO at the top was amazing!
as one smart viewer already pointed out many of my changes into first were indeed inspired by my rev-thirsty CB. Apart from the tight stuff, those corners need first in spirited riding mode. But even the Diavel has its peak between 7 and 8K rpms from which I wasn't that far away most of the time I think actually
its always fun to make something do what its not supposed to :D while in this case, Ducati made it all wrong, in a great way ! weird bike, but if im gonna have a cruiser, its definately going to be this one.
I have xdiaval s with the termis and they come with map for ecu witch puts it 10% more hp wich adds up to abought 170 hp lol im scrapen pegs and doen wheelies outa the corners all the time loved the duke so much traded my vrod off for 1299 pani now i have two dukes life is perfect hahahaha
So many unnecessary down changes. Riding it like the CB500.
some of them were. Not the ones in the hairpins though. The XDiavel peaks between 7 and 8K rpms.
Nope, max torque is 5000rpm

We are! Quite embarrassing for me since I'm asking you guys to always read with care. Thanks for the correction, you are right!

This is the video that put me on my goal of owning a Diavel all those years ago.
And now my own Diavel is coming in a week. Thanks, Schaaf!
Congratulations Man!
Yes, it's a cruiser! But can it do QUICK-ISH too? Just watch the whole thing and tell me what you think!
Schaaf AWESOME VIDDY BRO!!
What the fuck... You're motorcycle stig.

+lowstyle1000 nein nein, das bockige war meine Schuld. Die XDiavel selbst ist eigentlich erstaunlich zahm handzuhaben, definitiv ein Cruiser!!!
Schaaf WHAT???
Finally a reviewer that’s not droning on - making silly noises, or blending music and reading off a factory spec sheet !
Well done
thanks a lot!
Ducati is the real definition of instant torque in 600 plus cc category always and forever, nobody can touch its torque delivery❤️
I am buying this bike tomorrow. I lived in Germany for a couple years back in the 80's and the ride and scenery brought tears to my eyes. thank you for the gift!

thanks Richard
Omfg, love that beast. Awesome riding as usual fam.
thanks fam
Holy cow. Now that is a proper ride on the XDiavel. I didn't even get close to this in my test rides.
thanks Brandon
I needed some (almost) raw footage to wake me up this winter. Thanks! I will subscribe
welcome!
Dude you deserve at least milion subscribers, with this quality of videos, i hope one day you will achive that !!!
thanks a lot dude! Although staying relatively small has its advantages too

MrKiddo just turned 197.000 miles on my st2 I know what you mean about the Ducati 😀
M773 every time I turn over another 50.000 miles on my ducatis I always think, damn I should have gotten a honda
MrKiddo Ducati! 😀😀
Easy when the video is speeded up!

nice!!
I like that editing trick that whenever the bike goes over 120km/hr the speedometer gets pixelated out.....You must be a magician :)
true that!
There is something really sexy about a fast, sporty cruiser with good handling! Kind of like a fast estate car. I love it!!!
Thanks Reza
I absolutely love this thing. Despite it's size it looks super light
it is!! Incredible fun to ride!
A very special bike. But it seems to me that you didn't need to much time to ride it Schaaf style. Respect.
thanks a lot, I gave my best :)
Who needs Netflix when you have Schaaf, Wishing for a third person view though.
Thanks ;)

you have to put the heel of your boot on the peg on a cruiser. That's why your foot gets caught on the ground in the corners.
Nice riding my man! And wow what a road to do it on.. Nice work. I own one and although they do have their faults and can never see me getting rid of it. To this date it is the longest I have ever owned a bike. Which says a lot
Nice!!
This is absolutely insane!
I hope you will get your hands on a rebel 1100 soon!
High expectations for this 1.
would love that for sure
When I test rode a cruiser a couple of years back, it was hilarious fun! I was so awkward on it. You did much better than me.
Surprisingly, it turned out to be one of my most popular videos even though I put very little effort into it and expected few views! If only I was rich, I'd love to have a Diavel as well! lol
like mentioned I was blown away by the XDiavels agility! And the standard Diavel supposedly is even better for riding pleasure ;)
off-brand cruisers often get lumped-in with the likes of harley for poor performance but can surprise most riders with their capability! I had the 2014 Honda NM4 Vultus and even though it had an NC750x engine, was a recumbent riding position it had upside down forks, disk brakes front and rear, ABS, TCS and the frame design was incredibly clever in terms of weight distribution and balance. Every one of my friends mocked it until they rode it!
thanks for sharing! I'd love to try a Vultus one day!!
I shall have to bring it over sometime and let you have a play! it too suffers from scraping the foot-boards very easily but it's good fun!
scraping foot-BOARDS is yet another item I need to tick off ;)
Schaaf yep! It even has the replaceable 'hero-bolts' normally found on the underside of pegs as they expect you to scrape 'em.
Liked it before the video even started!
lol
Great ride again. Next a 1290 superduke 😉
they're hard to get :/
This is about Ducati man not KTM...
I'll give a Super Duke R a go any day on my XDS given the Duke has got a bigger engine.
I've taken the 1290 SDR on demo twice, and it's ridiculously powerful, and lightweight. My favorite bike on the planet right now.
i love how it goes from 50 to 120 in a sec, very nice.
Yea
before saying anything i want to say that i am a car guy who drives daily ,not even close to an avid bike rider, you can just say i know to ride bikes of less than 20hp thats it........
till date i have ridden only 2 big cc bikes(atleast for me) a triumph t100-classic position and hyosung aquila 650-cruiser position.......when i sat 1st time on a bike with 61horses i.e bonnie (also it was me riding a bike of after 2 years dead, not even a touch) and released that clutch, i was like 'Gurdit they made to sign u you that piece of paper + have a copy of ur license+this thing wants to get out of your 2 legs like that horse on the ranch and ram into the wall= you are GAPED....
after fighting with that leash called clutch for a mile, the only thing that inspired little confidence in me was that classic seat position with pegs under me,though it had no abs and brakes were like 'really! u want me to shed speed like that', i still felt like somehow i can make it stop atleast.
Secondly, i drove Aquila right after that like 6months and again no riding in between, the moment i tilted left and right to change directions and press the brake far on the right....i felt like i was pressing the clutch of a truck and this thing will stop never stop ur done for good Gurdit......i never felt control of the Bike, it was like 'so loose' if u know wat i mean, like braking when u have a trailer at the back of your car...the biggest one ' like u r an 8 year old reaching into the den beneath to press that brake in the car!
maybe that particular cruiser,,i feel the inertia is always against u in cruisers if u , i like cruisers, the way they look, and even want to buy one....
and now i see your video i m like da faq thats a t100 ridin confidence and not a cruiser one !
is it the way all cruisers seating position is?
thoughts
the seating position is typical for a cruiser, yes
Nice roads you have over there. I see the light weight allowed a lot of flicking. I wouldn't be able to do that on my M109R......nice riding and no music except the Ducati. 👍
thanks!
sometimes it seems the video was accelarated. what a beast of a bike. do you think wider pegs would help in the overall position on the bike an confort?
Great spirited ride to Share :) that's the same Bike I demo'd last year...but it was a guided ride, nothing as entertaining and beautiful views this Edit had from the Trees 🌲 to the Higher plains to the top!
I agree, it's the next generation of a sport cruiser!
yup! sport cruiser indeed! Thanks Dracati!!
Is that a robot on the side of the road @ 7:36?
Cooles Video auf einem interessanten Motorrad. Heute sind meine Sticker gekommen und direkt auf den Rucksack geflogen. Vielen Dank! :)
mega!!! Freut mich! Danke :)
Looking forward to the Rocket 3 R. Test.
that'll be a long wait
Ah, the Highbike Testcenter. Was there privately 2 times last year...
nice!!
Awesome Ride Schaaf💪
I second that, ridden like a pro, who has never ridden one before ;)
Halfdead Rider Hell Yeahhhh😀
thanks a lot mate! That's what you get for staying many years with the same weak ass bike. Teaches a lot.
Already like a Schaff video before you play ❤️
;)
You did very well for zero pre-Ducati experience man, as these things have a very sensitive throttle
Thanks
great video! I wonder though if maybe the first generation diavel might be better for this type of riding? the foot pegs are back a lot further.
yes indeed it would be!!
Helllll yeahhhh..
First time I see you in cruiser man! awesome, now you know what I feel riding my Shwarley on the Belgian and German curvy roads with my forward control pegs heheh, my boots are all scrapped on the hills.. just the out side part of them ;)
Nice video as usual buddy, and a fk nice machine you rode there!!
R.I.P. \m/ Ride in peace
thanks a lot!! Now I want to try more!!
You can set the pegs closer to the center of the bike,it handles much much better.
I don't understand how that would influence the whole handling of the bike?
Foot pegs set forward aren't ideal for sharp cornering they're meant for comfort that's why you see them alot on cruisers, you can set them back(closer to the exhaust) like on Super sport or nakeds so it's easier to apply force on them to make the bike more stable at lower lean angles+they make it easy to hug the tank with your legs,so you don't upset the supension,i'm sure you know all this you just didn't understand what i mean, right LOL??
So ein cruiser im Schaaf rage mode, hin und wieder schauts aus wie ffw 😂 interessant zum anschauen 👍
danke
I love watching. I always tell you to my friends for be subs to your Chanel.
awesome!! Thank you Güray!!
That was lit, a day in the life of “Mr. Grimm”.
lol
Always entertaining to watch your videos riding along these mountain passes, did you had the chance to ride the Monster 821? I would love to see a footage riding that motorcycle?
unfortunately not. I'd love to try any Monster actually
Hey Schaaf bloody god video mate, you do soon get to grips with that beast for sure. Do you think you could tour the alps on that bike? Ha ha no sure I would want to unless it had like a quick shifter up and down. Ride safe buddy
yes you absolutely could. You don't need a quickshifter, you can ride it in any gear you want basically. I'm just a high-revving nutter! :)
Im having palpitations still while rewatching this 5x already lol
Ah well
Bro that bike is insane... Its fucking fast excellent riding too man
thanks
@@Schaaf I saw you rode the triumph bobber and ducati monster. If u had to choose one of the 3 which would you go with?
You should really try to get your hands on a Tuono! The most brutal and amazing thing out there :)
it must be legendary good indeed!
You can´t even imagine! :D
But i should never buy one. I´d end up in jail or dead^^
It does wheelies so effortless even in 3rd gear!
When you down shift , you do one thing a quick accelerate and leave near turn , is it helps engine to control wisely less sound or pressure on the engine ' or most important how you do that you give quick accelerate and release by pressing clutch or something else i want to learn ( during turns and downshift )
rev-matching
@@Schaaf but how you do that , because whenever i do downshift engine sounds very annoying or it feels like high load on an engine
i love the exhaust of tge diavel than the multistrada. more beefier sounding which is a total eargasm! 😁
*exhaust note
yes I agree!
I've to do a test ride too !
love this bike
awesome!!
Great first ride love the video I bought one after this video went for a test it’s everything you showed in the video nothings perfect but the Diavel is a good try
awesome!! Congrats on getting such a great bike!!
:-) lol
yes, kph! Indeed!! At this point I definitely still LOVE changing gears :D Let's see if that changes with time (and more cc's ;) )
Incredible riding abilities, I just purchased a 2018 XDIAVEL S and hope to be that good one day. ..Was that the stock exhaust or the Termi?
stock! Thanks!
What an absolute beast! The bike's pretty sweet too ;)
:,)
if i may comment... You drove it as a 2 stroke engine (as if a 125cc). You had torque under your arse, you should know that you must maintain high gears on the right amount of torque in order to explore the best ratio. Nevertheless, i like what i have just seen. Thanks for your experience. Cheers from Portugal
you are right, I had no experience with engines like that back then. In the meantime I learned how to ride those properly
u nailed it bro.. next time lean on it like superbike with helmets near the handle bar, one knee close to tank, other knee scrapping and hands hanging you will be more surprised howmuch you can push this beast! I own it and love it.. daily commute in touring mode and mountain on sport mode! u hav great skills buddy! i still remembr coming out of a curve at 70mph when test riding lol.
thanks man!!
Cant wait to get one. Love it
good choice!
superbe video endroit superbe moto superbe et quel pilote bravo .dommage que je comprend pas tout car francais mais pas grave j adore quand meme .tchao
mais heureusment je te comprends! Merci bcp!
Yes
Bet that Diavel never gets ridden like that again 🙈
It has fugly wheels and exhaust, but nothing two brand new Marchesinis and a shorty exhaust/SC Project full system cannot fix :)
I like its wheels a lot
I have one though, and to be honest I hated the wheels at first sight. I changed them for the Marchesinis (similar to the wheels Downshift83 has, but all black, not grey) and the bike looked ALOT meaner. But I guess it's a matter of preference.
Great driving, like it because you are driving similar to me and my brother 😂😂
thanks
Hey Schaaf love your videos!
I think it will be pretty awesome if you try out the Honda CBR500R 2016 due to in paper it has a similar engine of your cb500 1994.
Thanks man keep up with your amazing content!
I'd love to try out just any bike out there ;)
Isn’t it damaging to the engine and gearbox when you intentionally wring the throttle so brutally at each shift ?
nope
Of course my pegs and hangers are a little bit worse for wear 😊
It was a bit of a learning curve but now it is my favourite bike, and the one thing I thought might bother me, having to limit my corner speed, turns out to be part of the fun of riding and it always feels satisfying to successfully negotiate some twistys as fast as possible with it.
Good times!
😁
awesome, Al! Thanks for sharing! Understandable!!!
It seems to have a bit of a design flaw, the spedo gets blurry under hard acceleration ;)
;)
What a great clip! Thanks.
thank YOU
hi Schaaf, I'm lucky enough to have the non-s version and your ride reminds me exactly why I bought it. Anyhow, you've inspired me to book go sort out some routes for this years trip to Portugal and surprise some "fast" bikes ;0)
sup Dan, please read the description. And here's how my GoPro's mounted to my helmet: ua-cam.com/video/tRQ4OobrCMw/v-deo.html
Doh! Wow, it's all in there isn't it. I think you only left out what you had for breakfast that day!! Amazing job. I know for next time. :0)
This bike is a absolute monster, I was chasing one on my SV, I kept up a little bit haha
it is!!!
LOL
how much do replacement footboards cost though? :D
About 150€ buuuuuut, the actual thing that scratches on the tarmac is only 30. but before you break that you would be stoped by the engine guard :D
Hi. I have a speed triple 2011, but I'm thinking of moving to xdiavel s. I would like to know, based on your experience, What are the main driving differences between the two bikes?
Would you recommend a diavel to a person like me who likes sporty driving?
Thanks.
no
Absolutely love Diavels!
Oicking mine up tomorrow 😬👌
Congrats!!
Was this the stock exhaust's sound?
how did it feel to have feet forward when going fast in corners? You can't press leggs against tank so well?
it takes a bit of time getting used to but as you can see not very much ;)
dein "Disclaimer" ich kann nicht mehr xD soooo geil
nichts als die Wahrheit!!
Wie immer, sehr geil....cu @ Tulbingerkogel or Passo di Doppler..
danke!
its always fun to make something do what its not supposed to :D while in this case, Ducati made it all wrong, in a great way ! weird bike, but if im gonna have a cruiser, its definately going to be this one.
excellent choice!
Could it be... a bike that doesn't cry itself to sleep after Schaaf has ridden it???
they never do. They just shed tears of happiness ;)
Schaaf hahaha awesome riding man.
Something is wrong with your speedometer. Every time you reach around 115 it's blurry ;-) Great vid.... schön gemachtes Video. Super
you are right!!! ;)
I have xdiaval s with the termis and they come with map for ecu witch puts it 10% more hp wich adds up to abought 170 hp lol im scrapen pegs and doen wheelies outa the corners all the time loved the duke so much traded my vrod off for 1299 pani now i have two dukes life is perfect hahahaha
awesome!!
Awesome video brother ...
thanks bro!!
@Schaaf, benutzt du irgendwelche Silencer für die GoPro? Bei mir hört man nur immer den Wind 😅
in a scale from 1 to 10... how mutch brutal is the acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear??
for me it was a 10 for sure
Good riding, bro.
thanks bro
