Harmony solo in Master of puppets is the best
Absolutely! 🤘🙌
And super easy to play
I love this solo
One of my favourites.
Master of Puppets arpeggio + first Solo
Sultans of Metal (Kfir Ochaion cover) solo
November Rain - All solos
I think they all three are my favourites.
I agree
You can hear blues in everything he does in his solo’s.
Just like Jerry Cantrell.
to live is to die is the best and so little people know it's his work
What about Just A Bullet Away?
What about his solo on Suicide and Redemption
@@crocidayle i thought Kirk played both solos in that song for YEARS and was so suprised to find the first one was james
Correct me if I'm wrong but that song is a dedication to Cliff RIP. You can hear the love he has for his late brother in it. One of the all time best pieces ever.
it bothers me that people don't give James hetfield a lot of credit on guitar
You will never have bigger goosebumps than when you hear Ecstacy of Gold at a Metallica concert for the first time
Heard it in 2010 and hopefully gonna hear it again in less than 2 months! Porto Alegre - Brazil btw.
Can confirm- attended the M72 tour.
James has a great sense of melody in his solos. I actually prefer his solos to kirks most of the time.
Sometimes james has the better solos I personally love James solos as much as kirks but in guitar playing I belive palm muting and power chords james is faster than kirk soloing ahh thats a close one
I couldn't agree more, in fact here's my musical opinion ;)
ua-cam.com/video/CwRAoBh71Yg/v-deo.html
Sorry but if there's one place to try to be seen... Viva Metallica !
@@richardwalsh3680 Kirk is far more technical tho
James and trujillo is the best musician of the band.
@@Kbax3614 he is, but if you get too technical your solos are gonna sound generic, you gotta add your feelings to it man, spice it up a little
He's basically the best rhythm guitarist of all time.
he's also the best table
@@michaeld102175 you are the best floor 😂🤘
Malcolm Young
Mustaine!
Izzy Stradlin
I love when the camera pans on kirk thinking he's the one playing the solo.
For a rythm guitarist, he's very good at solos
His mind works fast
Most guys who play rock, even rhythm guitarists learn how to do solos. :)
And he's a drummer as well
dave mustaine is way better at solos and he's rhythm, but then again he was a lead guitarist turned rhythm
edit 2 years later: why the fuck did i comment this their styles arent even comparable wtf
John Connolly from SevenDust who’s the rhythm guitarist played lead guitar when Clint Lowery was playing for Dark New Day
Master of Puppets harrmony solo blew my mind as a kid, I'd never heard guitar harmonisation sound like that before.
Thanks to cliff who introduced James to harmony
Wait till You hear iron Maiden haha
@@maximilianodelrio Wait till you hear Chastain or Impellitteri
You should thanks to Cliff and Mustaine
@@maximilianodelrio I've seen Iron Maiden live about five times haha
The first solo in Suicide & Redemption is James and he’s absolutely shredding. But he is also responsible for almost EVERY melodic bit or harmonized “solo” on almost every single album. Kirk plays the true snot slinging ripping solos and pretty much everything else… is James
Kirk just plays plays random notes and people call it a solo. James is actually a decent guitarist, but what stands out for me the most are his writing skills
@@tomasaguiar8482decent guitarrist ?
@@tomasaguiar8482Those aren’t random notes have u heard fade to black
Kirk did Fade to Black solo 1 and that one's very melodic. Actually, he did all the solos in that song.
you know you've made it as a band when the crowd can sing your solos
James got me into soloing. When I first heard Master of puppets I was blown away when the harmony begin but when his solo played I was blown away even further. Plus it was easy and for just learning how to play leads it help a lot.
Same dude that’s one of my favourite solos
The solo in To live is to die is also a solo by James
(...) Yeah, but obviously Kirk Hammett did it while they were performing this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope they will play it again, soon, and James Hetfield will do his part (solo)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite solo of his wasn't even listed? lol
Fyi, it's the solo during the clean rhythm section of To Live is To Die
That's because Kirk Hammett performed it while they were playing this song live in 2011
@@igortokarski9517 But it's James' solo, as in he wrote and recorded it on the album
@@njldst2007 yeah, I know! Don't worry
The outlaw torn solo???!!
His harmony solo in misery is some of het’s finest work
I’m so glad that he plays his solos slow because it shows that you don’t have to play fast to be a great guitarist
Gotta love listening to his solos on the very early demo versions of their songs
James hetfeild and dimebag Darrel man...... tell you what, would have loved a solo-off between them two
Dimebag would destroy James hetfield and I’m pretty sure James hetfield would agree too
Cliff would've ripped both of em up on a bass guitar too 🤣 miss that man.
Master of puppets is proof that the best solos are the ones you can sing along to. Still goosebumps after all those years.
They should play solos together and when Kirk does his mosquito fast vibrato, James can do his slow vibrato, maybe sound a bit.....different maybe? Lol
that'd sound kinda dissonant, but it could fit the intense solo parts i think
@@ChadEditorZ Yeah, depends on the piece I guess
His solo from Suicide & Redemption is the best!
I have always preferred James’ solos over Kirk. His solos are always precise and melodic and he doesn’t overdo it with effects
James never played solo in the 80s..Kirk did it all ...he barely sang and played power chords ..when the hit the lights demo was to be made ..Loyd Grant played ALL guitars ...
Nothing else matters has the best solo
Suicide and redemption does
The outlaw torn bro
True
James has a better vibrato than Kirk. Lol
Hi Random, Please Visit my channel 😀🤘🏻
Storm Spotter 76 good joke
Hold up
@@spider-manbeatsbatman3610 not sure why you consider a fact a joke but ok lol
Joel damn i almost fell for it troll but im not this time
He wrote a lot of solos on master of puppets and ride the lightning, and recorded some of them as well
Imagine if James was lead instead
Imagine Metallica with James and Dave Mustaine as guitare twins
We wouldn't hear that fucking annoying wah pedal anymore at least
@Anant Raman youre right. If Dave never founded Megadeth, we would never hear solos from Friedman and Poland.
@@cptharky552 so Hendrix can go fuck himself then
He would shred with 300bpm downpicking
Now you know how good Kirk really is!
To Live Is To Die is the best solo he played.
didnt know james had this many solos
I just wish to see more of James doing solos not to say it’s a waste but he has that knack and should use it more
He's got the blues
The video cut short on The Ecstasy of the Gold. James has a killer shredding solo that this video didnt show. So i would say the people that put this video together did not do their homework.
Agreed. Lots of potential, great subject for a vid but failed to deliver. Unfortunately. But I still liked it!
His solo in Suicide and Redemption should be here. Fuckin amazing solo.
3:38 oh my fucking god
hes the man
you know, i really like that double guitar part in Fight Fire With Fire don't know if that's considered a solo tho...
Since we are getting close to Thanksgiving your username should be Guitar Gobble
To live is to die interlude?
There's a credited solo by him on Orion too.
he is the best!!!!!
Guitarrista que toca a guitarra base, também toca guitarra solo esse vídeo faz todo sentido pra ter banda #ficadica
The outlaw torn?
Always knew James had a blues soul
Remember that both of Metallica’s guitarists are really fucking good
Hammet was just lucky enough to work with the real master.
The suicide and redemption from the instrumental in death magnetic its missing on the video. Amazing solo
wish you included his orion solo which is pretty good
You can't consider Ecstasy Of Gold as a solo. It's more of the lead melody.
Ikr why did he pick just the normal lead part in Ecstasy? There's literally A SOLO in it that James plays live WITH WAH!!!!
@@fbx17 Ok yes later there is a Solo that James is playing, but the part you put in the video is the lead melody.
@@ritualdeathmetal That's literally what I said... Learn to read before you write.
for the nothing else matters solo, how did kirk attain the infinite sustain without a sustainiac? he even does floyd work on that one note
The TABLE himself
So close no matter how far
Couldn’t mean much more from the art
Couldn't be, rather. And not art, but heart!!!!!!
jesus christ its Heart
Couldn’t mean much more from the fart *
Goooo
I can only say thank you're big .
Bkn !!
1:22 "lávate".
What about Suicide And Redemption?
Apik tenan
What happen if James play solos with wah pedal
Like on their cover of Overkill?
@@TheAtomicPunk-fr7dm or The Ecstacy of Gold?
I like the last one on this clip, don't know the name...
James is a cleaner guitar player
Not cleaner, Kirk just as clean even playing fast James is definitely more methodical, and bluesy
Where Suicide and redemption ?
Where is Just A Bullet Away?
Igor Tokarski good question buddy
What about Suicide & Redemption??!!
Is this a shredding video can't tell
I regretted clicking this immediately LOL
JOEYS GEAR lol your life is what I’m laughing at bitch get out of here and let papa hey control our minds without ridicule from the likes of you

Where is suicide & redemption's solo?
Suicide & Redemption is missing.
THIS IS AMAZING🤘👊👍🖕💪🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘!
man if greeny could talk, the storys and places its been and seen hahaha so cool it started with peter green touring the world then gary moore touring the world now with the Hamster !!! kirk said it best the guitar just wants to be heard its the peoples guitar not his, (his words)
NO To live is to die..?
Suicide and redemption?
The outlaw torn?
Sucide redemtion solo is the best
Didn’t know James can solo
я людей типа люблю
where is just a bullet away, do you even listen to metallica
Exactly!!
Great guitar player. The downstroke master. But damm are they out of tune on whiskey in the jar.
master of puppets
James Solo are more bluesy than Kirk....
Suicide and redemption? Best James solo easy
where da fuck is san diego 92 one solo by james??
You should have equalized the volumes

1 of the best guitar player in this fucking WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!
Nobody talks about the second solo in Orion????
Fight fire with fire 🤔😡
You chose couple of poorly played (at least, at the time) solos, and left out “The Outlaw Torn”?
He uses downstrokes even in solos
He uses hammer ons and pull offs to compensate nicely might I add
Mans forgot suicide and redemption
The fact that they would want lars to play like philthy animal is questionable
3:52 Out of tune kirk power chord
Now he can try some yngwie's solos too 😂
James Better Guitarist than Kirk Easily ...
Howeve I dont know about Mustaine, Dave writes songs and nice rhythms too but can solo circles around James
Dave is the worst guitarist to ever play for Megadeth
@@TheLucidDreamer12 You are so dumb
Creo que James tiene mejor vibrato y tempo que kirk
Pero Kirk tiene mejor técnica, capacidad y velocidad
repitiendo lo que dicen los comentarios en ingles :V
Hetfield and Scott Ian are the best rhythm guitarists ever.
prefer the riffs
0:59 this is the first time I saw Kirk using a Les Paul
You're kidding right ? He's been using a black les Paul's since the 80's
Bruh kirk is kinda always using les pauls, what are you talking about :))
Out of all the songs played, 2 of them were actual Metallica songs…
Metallica live.. 0:40 - love this guys but..
You know he solos in songs he wrote too, right? Lol
You know he pretty much writes all the songs too right? Lol
Yep... did you watch the whole video? Some of them are in there
