The Lectric XP Lite 2.0 is Lectric's latest super-budget level e-bike. Starting at $799, it's even less expensive than their best selling XP 3.0.
Key Highlights of the Lectric XP Lite 2.0 Include:
-Hydraulic disk brakes
-UL Certification 2271 & 2849
-Light(er) weight at just 47.5 lbs
-Stiff, strong fraime with 275 payload capacity
-$799 starting price for base model
-$899 for model with Carbon Gates Belt Drive (the model you see in the review video)
We don't find many e-bikes under $1,000 that we feel comfortable recommending to our viewers, but the Lectric XP Lite 2.0 is an exception. No, it's not a top-of-the-line commuter, but it handles quite well - and significantly above it's $800 price tag.
Please check back soon to our full written review of the Lectric XP Lite 2.0, and let us know if you have any questions about the bike in the comments.
Yay, a belt drive! My last two bikes have been belt drive, never want to go back. Would consider this!
Exactly - a belt drive at this price point is pretty cool to see!
That's a powered tail light, not a just a reflector. No brake light switch on it though, Also, this is the best review I've seen on it. Very nice video.
I JUST DON'T LIKE THE KEY UNDER THE BIKE 👎🏾
I agree
I agree
The Lectric XP Lite 2.0 is a newly upgraded version of our lightest and most affordable eBike to date, the XP Lite. Weighing in at just 49 pounds, the foldable XP Lite is ready to tackle everything from trips into town to exciting joyrides with a Lectrifying twist of the throttle. A Gates Carbon Drive Belt system provides nearly maintenance-free functionality! On top of that, enjoy hydraulic brakes, Lectric PWR programming, an LCD color display, and much more. The XP Lite 2.0 also includes an option to add a long-range battery.
Under 50 lbs makes a lot of sense for me being over 65 with a bad back.
Bike weight should be stressed more when transporting. Safe riding 🎈
I agree! You don't feel the weight much when riding - it's when lifting and moving the bike around that you start to really tell the difference.
I’m with you. Hopefully those dozens of +70lb bike makers will take a cue here.
Bad knee myself. I Want an e-bike that’s light where I can strictly use the throttle. Wish it could do slightly over 20mph but beggars can’t be choosers with the build quality and weight of this thing
For the play in the battery - just attach a couple "fuzzy side" velcro strips. Keeps the battery from bouncing around + falling out when tilted down.
Really looked at my receipt for the long-range version and had to do a double take. I got a $100 VIP discount! Maybe because I ordered a bike last year? Well, I'm sold on their bikes anyway, but that's really nice. I probably wouldn't have noticed, but I was filling out paperwork for a rebate from my local REA. So anxious to give this puppy a good ride! Thanks Lectric!
How did you get VIP discount?
@@Cloudypoo I have no idea. I am guessing because I bought a bike last year?
Doubt that. I bought two bikes last year (xpremium, lite both with full cargo packages)and I didn’t get offered a $100 discount. I did however $100 from my capital one plugin. I always run honey and sometimes capital one. So I got a lock, rack, upgraded light, and fenders with the long range belt drive for $999. You’d be surprised how many coupon codes are out there. Edit; I just checked my email and I did get a vip code for $100 off. I stand corrected
Idk man. I bought two fully loaded bikes last year lite and xpremium both with cargo packages and I didn’t get a vip code. Unless it’s in an email somewhere. Ok Nevermind. It’s in my email. So I did get the code. Hey run capital one coupon check it found $100 off for me. Honey could probably find the same $100 off I got the fully loaded long range belt drive for $999 with free lock, fender, upgraded light, and rack included for Father’s Day bundle. I had no idea until now that I had a vip discount
I guess you’re right. I just checked my email after you said that and sure enough i got the vip offer too. I bought an xpremium and lite last summer with cargo packages for each. Either way I was able to get $100 off by running capital one coupon plugin.
I wasn’t a fan of the key having to stay in but it grew on me. If you already forget your key on walking in a store then you’ll forget to turn it off the battery with a key. If anyone can turn it on at the press of a button then it’s not very secure. Unless lectric finds a way the bike knows its owner, maybe could turn on using finger print 🤷🏻♂️ but that can’t be very reliable
You mention hills. How good would the bike be on a long sustained uphill? It wb challenging on reg bike but a novice wouldn’t have issues - just be very tired. Can this bike handle that?
It appears the final release did not include the range display. I wonder if there is a way to enable this display option. It would be nice to have an idea of range
Hopefully soon I get my XP lite 2.0 Ship's out in July, but no date.
When you are "ghost pedaling" are you saving battery power/ using less watts?
Good looking bike.
Live in Denver, with the new point of sale tax break got one brand new with premium headlight, bike lock, and carry package for $650
Lectric needs to introduce a lightweight bike with a European design like the Fiido X and Ado Air 20. This one looks kind of clunky compared to those.
It's also half the price. If you want value, get the Lectric. If you want refined style, get the ADO at 2x the price. X is out of production now.
@@govegan0424 Well, not the half price. I bought an X in July for $999, the Lectric Lite is $799 or $899. The Ado is $1250.
Who's got 34 minutes to kill on each bike review
I just ordered that 2 days ago.
Me too. Father's Day had some nice extras for free.
Me too. It says ship in July. Any idea when in July?
How do you secure it to a post? Can you use a D-Loc or you need a chain? How do you get the lock through the back wheel and the frame and the post
Not a fan of running an ebike from an app. One of my three bikes is a Super73. Gets pretty annoying to connect to the app each time you stop somewhere and power it down. Super73 resets to class 2 after power cycles. Pretty lame that it can’t retain your settings. Especially if you happen to misplace or lose your phone. Stay away from ebike phone apps.
I recently received my Lectric XP Lite 2.0 JW and have been riding it for about 3 weeks. I’ve noticed a few issues, like my throttle only works when I am in peddle assist level 2 or higher, but it’s not very strong. Additionally, when I am on a mild incline for a sustained period, the motor shuts off (including the display and lights) and only returns after a few minutes. Lastly, although I have the long-range battery, I do NOT get the 80-miles that is claimed on Lectric’s website. I contacted Lectric about this issue to see if this was normal and they didn’t answer my question, but told me to check all of the connections, which I did and everything appears to be connected correctly. However, the issues persist.
Full disclosure: I’m 65 years old, 5’9”, 250 lbs and only ride in the paved bike path near my home for an average of 10-miles a day.
QUESTION: Is this normal for this e-bike? Does anyone else have this issue?
What range are you getting?
@@Leo92630 it seems the range is usually about half or thereabouts because they do the test with a 140-150 pounder rider.
@@Allaiya. I’m getting about 25 miles of range.
THANKS FOR THE GREAT REVIEW! DO I BUY FROM YOU OR LECTRIC?
What gear do you put it in to go Full Throttle with no pedal in it 20 miles per hour
I don't know if I want a belt drive.. I haven't had any issues with chains before, why would I want a belt drive if the chain maintenance doesn't matter to me? I feel if I have a belt issue it will be 3-4x the price of a quick chain swap
Have the 1.0 really wished my bike came with the hydraulic breaks standard.. 2 weeks in my breaks already needed an adjustment and idk if the build quality is great or mine was a lemon but my front wheel was already wobbling … in my experience which is 2 weeks btw look for a different company.. and customer service is straight garbage
I have found customer service excellent. I have had a few problems and Lectric responds quickly, and even provided service after the warranty period was over.
@@synchemist6462 well thats good for you .. was your issues early on or after the year mark
@@cristian_wrxperez2394 I had one early on when the bike stopped working for a about 1/2 hour. There was no diagnosis, but they sent me a new display. After a year when the warranty was over they sent me a new front brake, but I replaced the initial one with a hydraulic caliper, so I have a spare.
@@cristian_wrxperez2394 Early on the bike stopped working for about 30 min. I called them and they couldn't make a diagnosis, but they sent me a new display. It hasn't been a problem since (1.75yr). Sometime after a year (past warranty), I had a problem with my front brake and they sent me a replacement. At the time they said they often will help with past warranty bikes.
Is that rear light/reflector a light or brake light?
Also the 14ah is promising. Wish they would have upped the motor watts tho. At the end of the day, I'd rather have some raw stat upgrades all around than these little comfort upgrades, like a belt drive and whatever lol. However I still think this seems really promising and I imagine I'd enjoy it alot? Im also not keen on the new look of the graphics etc, Seems like a step down, like they're trying to cater to old english dudes or something. The original xp lite had a very cool and unique look to it graphic and colorway wise, and this is alot more boring or something. Best upgrade is easily the 14ah battery... but there are several clones out there that are actually good quality brands/bikes that have stronger motors and almost as good of a battery as a 14ah.
It's a tail light but not a brake light. I saw this on another review
@@Squirlpikins123 So, pretty much the same as the previous XP Lite model.
So this bike isnt chunky friendly? Mobility scooter here I come... D:
I ordered that bike.Does it come with a long range battery
yes. that is the john wick black with belt drive. It only comes in the long range version
@@ronsimmsfan2661there are several tiers. Base chain model is $799, belt drive JW is $899 as shown in video, long range belt drive JW is $1099. Only long range option lite under $1000 would be a base model chain long range for $999.
@@ronsimmsfan2661 No, it's $899 short range and $1099 long range.
I ordered the white one with long range battery. It was an extra $200, but I got some free accessories in the deal. Can’t wait to try it!
@@Laura-vb24hwOn the lectric website it says these new xp lite 2.0 ship Sept 30
Does the Xp lite 2.0 take the same batteries as the Xp lite original?
probably better off with the ride 1 up portola. seems more premium. this bike should be closer to $600. seems too basic.
Huh, it's an inch more in height when folded compared to the original XP Lite. That may be the straw that breaks fitting into my tiny Honda Accord Hybrid trunk 😢
Keys are necessary. I unsubscribed
Cool, I just subscribed because of your comment. 👍
Simple, basic ebikes. Proven reliability, service. Thats why they sell so many. Plus they're located here in Arizona. Won win.
You're a big baby
to hell with this price range. I just ordered a TesGo Seeker Pro for $1299, no tax. Dual hydraulic, lockable fork. 1000 watt power. 48V 16.7aH. air adjustable rear shock. Hydraulic brakes on oversized rotors. 95 Nm torque.
It's hot necessarily about the specs with this bike though. The bike you bought weighs 82lbs and this one weighs 49lbs. The Tesgo has 4 inch wide tires and this one has 2.5 inch wide tires. The two bikes serve a much different purpose as the Letric will be much simpler, more portable, and more nimble.
@@logitech12345678910 Agreed, but I bet if you put those two bikes on a side by side throttle test to 20mph the Lite 2.0 will win. It beat the Velotric Fold and Portola's 0-20 throttle times
Have fun when your garage goes in flames by not having a UL2849 bike lol
@@RileyRacing-wl7bu i keep my battery in my room, buried in sand in an ammo crate.
@@logitech12345678910 ya but im 6 foot 240 pounds. i shouldve mentioned that. everything needs to be beefier when youre beefy.
they shoulda made the top speed faster.. too slow..
It's would be a class 3 ebike and possibly unsellable once regulation catches up
@@korcommanderI don't understand some of the comments about this bike . For 800 and a class 3 bike it's unheard of in the US. If you want faster get a moped or motorcycle. I mean you can ride this in the bike lane.
I don’t buy an E Bike now, this market is flooded with junks at the moment. You can’t identify what’s a good deal and good quality bike. I rather wait few years so that the features and engineering get better. I feel like it’s a waste of money to buy something that doesn’t last or no service at the moment.
There’s actually junk and good e-bikes out there just gotta do your research and get the best one
There are at least 2 or 3 US based companies in the market, and with the whole post coof downturn, the time to buy any type of bike is now, electric or not
You could say that every year and never buy one as they are always improving and the market changes… Just get one and enjoy your life.
@@PumpUptheJam81 it has to be the right bike. It’s an investment to me. I’m trying to get rid of my cars and just riding e-bike to save money

Nobody cares except for you, Mick.
The fuck is wrong with you?
Thanks for the tip, what if I say "Sup Nigga" how is that?
Thanks for the tip, whay if I say "Sup Ni$$a" how is that?
Under 50lbs means I can take it on Amtrak. I don’t think you can charge them on Amtrak btw. Do these need to be checked (without battery)? I like the idea of train travel and having this bike as instant transportation wherever I end up without relying on Uber so much. My current e-bike needs a pickup truck to carry it around. It’s blinged out for utility and probably weighs over 100lbs. This looks like it will fit in the trunk of my Camry. I think I want one.
My XP Lite folds & fits in 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid sedan, in trunk or back seat
Exactly my thoughts. I’m in college and a car makes no sense for me but I wanted more freedom so I started looking at decent range ebikes. But then I realized just what you did, the XP lite can go on Amtrak and buses easily and now you’ve got 30 odd miles of freedom when you get off. Wicked combo, think im going to save up for one
Hopefully soon I get my XP lite 2.0 Ship's out in July, but no date.
I bought the same bike with the long-range battery. I guess it comes with it. I paid 1165.
I always have trouble opening and closing the Lynch. They need to put a Beller stronger where it locks Beller.
They need to change the launch. Make it more safer.
Bafang makes a two speed auto shifting motor. They could use that and still have the carbon belt. That's what Ado does but they're proud of it.
I don't understand this 2.0 Lite ($799) . Cons: No rear rack ($79) , Only one gear, 300 W, 2.5 inch tires, LR battery cost $200 more,
XP 3.0 - $999 incuded rack, 500 W, 7 gears, front suspension, 3 inch tires, longer range, Moe power go up hills
Thanks for this in depth review. I'm still struggling with whether this would "fit" me. I'm 6'3" and I see their online specs say up to 6'2" and you referenced someone 6'5" sitting on it.
Do you feel it is a good option for a person that is 5’11” riding in neighborhood on pavement and sidewalks? I was looking at 3.0 bit it is same as far as height of rider? I will not be riding fast either. Thoughts since you are 5’11”?? Thanks.
How hard is it to pedal without power?
I like the 500 W motor on the XP 3.0.
How do you compare this new JW vs the lectric 3.0 since they are similar in price once you opt for the long range batteries - which one would you opt for
I know you are waiting for him to answer but since he hasn't yet, I will tell you that I have the XP 2.0 and am looking at this bike as well. The 2.0 is just too heavy to be loading and unloading from the car. I can do it but it is kind of a struggle. You are going to feel more of the road flaws on the Lite because of the smaller tires and no suspension but you can put a suspension seat on the Lite which should help some. The Lite also only has one gear so if you are in a very hilly area, it might not work well for you. So it depends on what you are going to use it for and how strong you are.
@@robertd9850 thank you
I have an XP Lite and feel it has a lot to improve before it would get even half of the stated range here. Mine has a chain and has no derailer. That with such a weak range limited battery is giving me the signal I need more range and speed and less ghost pedaling. Sorry I got this very limited performance bike. I still use it but am getting a scooter with a basket that will leave this bike in the starting dust.
Do you have the 1.0 or the 2.0?
@@Allaiya. I got the old style one with a chain and a cadence sensor that is slightly slow in turning on the power. My XP lite cost me about $1000 because I got the cargo carry racks and paniers. The battery is a bit small but I can live with that. What angers me is that they sold me this bike and no sooner do I put it to use and suddenly there is a new model with all the things (except the derailer) I feel would decrease my disappointment with both the speed and range and reliability . The chain requires periodic adjustment to keep it on the freewheel. It is a bitch to be at max distance from home and to have the chain flip off the freewheel. I asked if they could provide an update kit with chain wheels replaced with belt instead of chain, possibly a few more teeth worth of increase on crank diameter. They brag about listening to their cusomers...don't count on it. They just pushed away my suggestion and me at the same time. What I need is to be able to move at 20 mph on flat ground. As it stands now the gearing (chain) does not facilitate doing 20 mph if you are using the pedals. You ghost peddal at 20 and with pedal assist. I need the additional torque from peddaling and just can't pedal that fast. I say don't let them fool you. I wish I had bought either a more powerful bike (500 watts and derailer was available from other supplier the week my bike was delivered. 350 watts is weak without a higher gear ration or a larger motor. Also the battery is only 7.8 amp hours. The new model is available with a lot more battery. I will wear this thing our but won't trust Lectric in the future.
Can you put this into class 3? Or is it simply not possible?
Microsoft copilot says you can but you would be peddling air since it only has one gear so you'd have to use throttle only.
With over 800 watts shouldnt this bike be going like 28 mph like mist bikes in that power range? Also want to know if the gearing could be upgraded to get rid of the ghost pedaling?
24:40 Lectric could do Gates belt, internal multi-gear rear hub, & mid drive motor option
Strongest value to this bike is its compactness. It can live in the back of your car. The 20 inch tires are perfect. Drawback is that it maxes out kind of quick and you'll outgrow it. Ideal for apartments and last mile commutes. I would like to see this model without chain/shifter/pedals - just throttle and thicker battery.
I think you’ve described a scooter with a seat.
@abb3373 Yeah if it folds and sits, an overpowered short range bike that lives in the trunk would be ideal. They don't make folding scooters though.
you can carry it at the seatpost
Seems like it fills a niche for folded size and weight, but too many compromises for most people.
