It seems like Lectric has not even annouced this 2.0 model yet as of Today as it is missing from it's web site. I rode the XP Lite original for almost 2 years at 6 foot 2" and never had a issue with it being to short. Unless they change specs with this new version 6" 2"" high works great.

I just got mine a month or so back , when pedaling it feels kinda stiff but I believe it to be my front wheel where the brake is screwed to the disc I feel it’s too snug and makes like this almost grinding noise idk if that’s normal ? Should I loosen the brake a bit ? (Also knowing the lite 2.0 is here I would’ve opted for this but I’ll keep on with my current lite )

battery bar is an non issue as long as they still have volts option in display. I like that they changed the gear in the hub cause now it can climb hell hole on throttle. One day they'll change their seatpost from the clamp style. You ride off a curb once seated and it will strip it. The PAS levels seem out of wack, 4 and 5 are useless unless it climbs faster in those settings. Hopefully the cruise control option still available.

This bike definitely has a niche for someone who needs a lightest weight folding bike, but I think the 3.0 is the better choice for most people who want a folding bike or a Velotric Fold. If they could make this 500w and 3 gears and keep the same weight somehow, it would be a home run, but that might bring the weight too close to a 3.0.
I think the XPress is going to be a great value for a relatively lightweight non folding bike. Really looking forward to that review.

The lightest foldable e- bike around is not Lectric Lite, but brands like Fiido foldable and step through models, also Citizen and equipped electrically for less that if one will be forced to buy Lectric XP Lite 2.0 for $999 in order to have more of a commuter bike and range. Otherwise, Lectric Lite 2.0 is offered way under powered for $799 compared to competition which offers even for less better equipped foldable and step-through e-bikes.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  Місяць тому +3

Ghost pedaling occurs most commonly on bikes with cadence sensors, and it happens because the bike's gearing range is not wide enough to keep up with the speed of the bike. The rider ends up turning the pedals freely without helping to propel the bike; the action just keeps the motor engaged.

Hydraulic brakes and color display are good upgrades for this bike. Is the rear light powered by the main battery?
I hope the BMX style bars and color display make their way to the XP models. Though it will affect how compactly the bike folds, it lets you adjust the reach if you rotate the bars at the stem.
About the display, does it retain trip information when powered down? That the biggest issue I have with the monochrome display used in the past.
Regarding lack of assist when you had it in PAS level 1, Lectric has lower speed caps for levels 1 and 2 on their XPedition and XP that also use their PWR power management system. I believe it is 9mph in level 1 on the XPedition. They can be set to respect the overall speed cap of 20 (or 28 on models that can do so). That’s probably why you felt no assistance. I removed it because 4A of current in PAS level 1 is still useful on the XPedition, taking me up to around 14-16mph on flat terrain, rather than stopping at 9mph, extending range on such terrain.
A clarification on the power management style. It’s nowhere close to a torque sensor, despite Levi’s claims it’s a “cheap” way to approximate one. It in no way considers rider effort or speed (other than caps). It is a better way to manage power on a cadence sensor bike. Each level sets a specific amount of current (power, depending on what the battery voltage is at the time) sent to the motor, rather than a speed target and using an arbitrary power curve to get to the target speed. It gives you more control over the bike, but not to the same level as a torque sensor bike does. Still, I’d rather have a current-setting cadence sensor system than a speed-setting one. The latter on a torquey motor can easily make the rider lose control with the initial surge of power after starting from a stop, or at low speed while making tight maneuvers. My Espin Nesta threw me off twice before I increased the number of levels from 5 to 9 and set the lowest levels to really low speed targets so the bike only has the opportunity to surge to 400-500W instead of 900-1000 through its 85Nm hub motor. I really don’t like that style, though some riders do like the surges when ticking up the PAS levels.
Edit: another reviewer posted a chart of the effects of advanced settings. Net, you can set the power management style to either levels corresponding to current/power sent to the motor or speed targets, with the throttle tied to the level settings or max. That’s pretty cool, as each rider can select their preferred style. Still not going to behave like a torque sensor ebike though. And, yes, the default configuration caps level 1 to stop assisting at 9mph, and I think level to at 15mph.
To my knowledge, only Lectric, Mate and Ride1Up use the current-setting style on their cadence sensor e-bikes. Hopefully, more do.

@@ericasimonson8737 Also, the Wildeway Ebike has a 750W motor that is very powerful. The issues I have with the one I purchased are two, I had to contact them to have the seat & seat-post replaced because it arrived with a seat-post that was too large to fit properly. Yesterday, I went for a long ride. The bike averaged 17mph in PAS 1, in PAS 5 the average was 28mph. The bike has a throttle and is primarily activated by pedaling. I rode up hill at a cemetery with a steep incline a distance of about 4 blocks with no problem. I then rode much longer a total of about 30+ miles before a 1" nail flattened my back tire! I then had to call a friend to pick me up in order to get home since I did not put any flat seal liquid into the tires. Changing a rear tire flat is challenging! If you do not plan on riding faster than around 20 to maybe 25mph the Lectric may satisfy you. I would hope you have a store near you that sells them so you could check out how they feel for you. They may have better tires! I will be replacing mine when it becomes necessary. The Lectric that has a belt and automatic shifting is probably a very nice bike. How well they can actually handle hills I don't know personally. I wanted a lectric ebike until I saw vitilan and to know they have so much features. Dont get me wrong It's a cute bike just wish lectric would change abit with the wheels spoke and at least add safety break lights. How is It a 2.0 lite but didn't put break lights idk lectric did good on the chain and breaks but that's all they changed. They still have the same battery life 14amp when people are using higher battery life same with other companies. Luckily I did alot of research in brands because whatever some brands lack on others don't. Vitilan is a way better choice because u pay same amount as a xp 3.0 but more better upgrades n better suspension with a 20amp battery to go further and better 750w motor. At later price it’s a question whether Lectric customers will not consider XP 3.0 instead, which is also step-through, not only foldable. Another review site posted a chart with effects of the advanced settings. The default is for assist for levels 1 and 2 to stop at 9 and, I think, 15mph.
You can set it so levels 1 and 2 respectively the same 20mph overall assist speed cap.
This also affects throttle behavior, whether it follows the same power setting of each level or just delivers the 15A maximum the controller can provide. The former is the default and makes the bike easier to control when riding through crowds using the throttle.
Alternatively, you can configure it so each level corresponds to a speed target, with the full 15A of current available, so it will surge as you click into higher levels, with more power the further you are from the target speed, tapering off as you reach it, and cutting you off above the target speed. This is the behavior before they implemented their first PWR system.

Lectric had to make these upgrades, because unlike what this UA-camr said, the prices of ebikes are actually dropping while the features and performance get better. This ebike was overpriced before, and even with the upgrades, is still overpriced for having only a 300w motor, fixed fork, single speed... An honest reviewer would have pointed these facts out. It's time we all as consumers scrutinize these "reviewers" and call them out for what they really are, little more than paid shills for these companies.

Tariffs that are coming in two weeks will be raising prices for most e-bikes in the market. Lectric has already stated they'll keep prices the same. It's pricing it appropriately for what is around the corner, and in our opinion, it's a great value.

Still too pricey for what it is. You’re buying at this price for their customer service. Hopefully it still at the same bar as when they started.
