I remember when Tracy Porter got that pick 6, seems like our entire block ran outside and started dancing cheering. This is one of those memories that will always warm my heart. I love my team and my city. Them dudes are legends!! That night of the parade was cold af though.
Chad Lewis i was only 6 years old when we won and i still remember it like it was yesterday. people were screaming and honking horns and hugging in the streets. it was awesome
Bro I was working at Hollywood casino in br at the time as a dealer when the game was on. When Tracy porter made the pick 6 the pit boss IMMEDIATELY made everyone pull the covers of the chip rack. Lock them up. And they played crunk as LOUD as the casino could muster and alll the dealers left the pit and all the players quit playing and we all started hugging and everyone was dancing each other. Friends coworkers strangers. Bro it didn’t matter everyone was in love that day. Man I will never fucking forget it.
I remember watching This super bowl of My team The Saints when I was 18 years old. My senior year of highschool we had a party that night and let me tell ya it was a damn good party 🤣 lol I knew my team was winning it all that year I felt it from the start of that season I just knew we would ! Who DAT!!! I'm hoping we start winning more Super Bowls!
Jim Nantz, I can personally relate so much. I am in tears hearing your personal commentary. I remember as a boy going to Tulane Stadium as a boy, and Saints fan from day one. I went with my Dad as a boy, in 2010, I got to celebrate the Super Bowl win with My Dad, it was elation. The next morning I took him to his last Chemo treatment at Oschner on Jefferson Hwy, bought him a Super Bowl shirt in the concourse. He died March 30th of that year, but we got to see our Saints win our Super Bowl. My first grandson, his first great grandson was born the week before my hero, my Dad, passed, we were able to be together for this game. My son is a huge Saints fan, as are, now both my grandsons. This team means so much more to me than just football.
That is so cool. My dad passed in 2013 so I know what you’re talking about. This team is so much bigger than any other team they play for us the fans the city the state.
Hot damn! Brought tears to my eyes!!! I was there when Katrina hit. I was displaced with my family after she was done, and I can remember, like it was this morning, that moment my saints went on to win the SB! I can remember Will Smith and the morning our local news station covered his tragic passing! I also remember how they, The Saints, brought our city, our state and the whole football community together as one. I believe with every ounce of who I' am that they WILL do it again....2019-2020 anyone? WHO DAT...………………………………………………………………………………………….DAMN RIGHT...…………………………………………………………………………………….DEM SAINTS!!!!
This was awesome. This brought back a ton of memories from that season. I was still living in NOLA that year and the city was absolutely on fire. Mardi Gras those weeks after the game was lit!
This made my life as a Saints fan from day one. I have the same memories as Jim Kelley. My Dad died the next month, we got to see our Saints finally win the Super Bowl.
For the longest time New Orleans and Louisiana were last in almost everything except crime and poverty. It felt so great to be the best in something positive for a change. That's an intoxicating feeling that you hope will never end.
I grew up a couple of blocks from Tulane stadium, on State Street at Willow. Moved from there to Versailles. We used to park cars for the Saints games, Sugar Bowl, and a couple of Super Bowls before the Dome opened. My buddies and I went to many games using parking money buy scalper tickets for $5 for upper level. These Super bowl videos bring back great memories. During 2009-2010 I moved to the French Quarter, and participated in all of the excitement of that season, especially the playoffs in 2010. It was crazy fun. That season is etched in my person, so special, such excitement, and anxiety (NFC Championship vs Vikings); like all New Orleanians. I live in the land of the Vikings now, 24 years later. I can tell you Vikings fans have had to deal with eternal heartache. Just making it to a Super Bowl, and losing, doesn’t produce “walking in greatness forever“, or whatever the saying is. So grateful we got to experience winning a Super Bowl if only once so far. It is incredibly hard to get there much less win it. Be grateful Saints fans. I know we all thought we would get a couple more with Drew Brees. And to think all we had to do to draft Maholms was move up 1 draft place, but I digress. New Orleans, North is located on the banks of the Mississippi, upstream from the first city on the Mississippi near the headwaters in a place and Lodge name called Yola,MN.
TY 2009-10 Saints team w Brees as our leader anything was possible. I’m forever thankful for the New Orleans Saints even right now while I’m hurting because my team is injured I’m just hoping we can stay around because I know Derek Carr is a tough dude whom rarely misses games. I just want us to get back healthy. We have one of the best offenses in the game like we did the first two weeks, but that’s the key being healthy, but either way the team will always be more than just a regular team they play for the city the state I have been the Saints fan since I was 4 years old. I’m 46 now. Who Dat Nation 4 Life…
I’ve been in New Orleans this week (I live in Liverpool). Would have loved to see a game in the Super Dome but had to leave Sunday morning. New Orleans was a fantastic place to visit.
Yeah. The whole "bounty" thing wasn't super effective. The 2009 defense for the Saints is one of the most overrated units in sports history. They were just average. Sure, they forced a lot of turnovers, but the gave up so many yards. Besides, they didn't even injure that many opponents. The offense was the strong suite for them as it was the best scoring offense in the league
@@jjb1908 I agree to an extent but I disagree when you said the 2009 squads defense was overrated because It honestly was on of the best defenses in history but In terms of years I will agree that they gave some yards up but usually only to the other top notch teams. Now our offense was top notch as well tho for sure.
@@ThomasSpears1991 I mean overrated since people say that they dragged Drew Brees there, and the fact that they really weren't super elite. The defense honestly felt like a game manager defense, while the offense carried them
@@jjb1908 Brady, Manning, Ben, all the greats that won SB had a complete team, saints only had a offense with no defense for a while, drew and the saints should have atleast 2 more rings
I feel like the 2018-19 Saints was a superior team than this SB team. However they fell short in the playoffs. I know they was that BS PI non call on a critical 3rd down; however defense had a chance to still win the game afterward. Then offense had another chance to win in OT since they had possession first but Brees threw a bad bad pick.... This seasons roster is also as good or even better, but I feel they won’t make it either. I like Brees and the Saints, but I feel the competition is too stiff now. Chiefs are a real threat in the AFC so are the Ravens. Seahawks, Niners, and Packers are all as good this seasons as well. Regardless I’ll be rooting for them. I’d be prefer if Rodgers leads the Packers to another SB, but I’ll be happy if the Saints win it all as well.

It's sad for fans of great offensive scheming the Sean Payton era is over. I was really believing in Jameis and Payton having a 10 year run. Payton throws the kitchen sink at you every down a different personnel group. 3TE, 4WR, 2RBs, A FB, it's bonkers.
