The 2009 New Orleans Saints lifted up the spirit and morale of a city that surely needed a boost. And Superbowl 44 is such a classic . Even the Half Time show with the Who kicked ass! 2/7/10 was a good day indeed! Well for me and many many others at least.😊
The NFC Championship Saints Vikings is STILL a top 5 or 10 Greatest Game of all time. The Superbowl vs Colts was good, but Favre and Adrian Peterson and Jared Allen gave the Saints a much tougher time, making for a much more thrilling game.
Still get chills watching this. Being from New Orleans and actually going to games with a paper bag on my head when I was lil boy with my momma because we was so bad and then to watch our hometown team WIN the Fukn Superbowl!!!!!!! My momma was still here to witness this moment with me which makes it even more special!!!!!! What a great day it was to be a New Orleans native!!!!!! #ILoveMyCity#WhoDat4Life
Love that line... So true. What I hate so much is how "the world's best football refs/leauge" absolutely robbed the world of a Saints/Brees/Peyton second Superbowl appearance, in place of the fricken new golden LA team, with Jarred Goof... Sorry, "Goff" - In their brand new golden LA stadium... Screams "fix was in from the start" if you ask me... And I've seen WAY too many examples of the leauge/refs making completely indefensible calls/decisions... Game changing calls. The difference between winning and losing games, in a league that can be REALLY close at times on who makes playoffs, and who didnt...
I was born and lived in n.o. and grew up a cowboys fan like Tom Landry never been a saints fan cool when they won and wasn't playing my boys but when they won the Superbowl I cried tears of joy bc if u not from there u don't know the passion and loyalty of fans no matter the record and to see the elders face was priceless and I was so happy to b from the 504
I'd also like to give a big shout out to Coach Payton's mentor, the legendary Bill Parcells, for helping his top student bring home the Crescent City's first Lombardi trophy
If not 2 I'm not even a saints fan and that 2018-2019 NFC championship game finish still annoys me how was that not PI could've had a Brady brees Superbowl and honestly probably would've put up a much better fight than the rams. Ah well at least he isn't one of those great quarterbacks that never won one like Phillip rivers
Never in all my life did I think I would ever see the Saints win a Superbowl. That kind of thing just didn't happen to the Saints. I remember growing up watching them and daddy and momma would be in front that tv every Sunday after mass.
When the Saints came from behind in Miami to defeat the Dolphins, I knew New Orleans was going to win the Super Bowl that season. The only thing that would have prevented that from happening was if Drew Brees got injured. In the Miami game, the Saints finally shed their "Aints" image.
The journey to the Saints revival began in 2000 when they used a voodoo priestess to end the Superdome Curse, which helped them upset the Greatest Show on Turf in the Wild Card playoffs
It's picked off!! It's picked off!! It's Tracy Porter again! He's running free! He's gonna go all the way! Hands outstretched! It is a Saint touchdown! 70 yards on the return!!
Released 5 months ago.🙄😳 SUPERBOWL 5(9) is in that stadium next year. Russell Wilson & Sean Payton of BRONCOS check in🤣🤣 Sean Payton beat Peyton Manning for that trophy. Now wtf u on the team he retired for. Russell Wilson Beat Peyton Manning too with Seahawks. Russell Wilson lost SUPERBOWL 4(9). He’ll be in SUPERBOWL 5(9) to win.
How is competing against your own teammates cheating, illegal gambling for sure but cheating nah ,we not like the patriots, a couple hundred dollars aint never hurt nobody… maybe kurt and brett though 😂
I've watched every Saints game since 1990. I've watched every game from the 2009 season multiple times for obvious reasons. If we were trying to injure people we did a terrible job. We should have led the league in personal fouls and unnecessary roughness penalties, but the Saints weren't even in the top 10. 😂 Like many ex players from other teams have said the Saints were doing nothing that every other team wasn't doing. Looking back it was a big nothing burger. Out of 19 games there were a few big hits that were nothing more than roughing the passer. You can find nearly every game of the 2009 season on UA-cam. If you watch them you will be very disappointed if you're looking for a dirty team. People can only point to the Vikings game, and last time I checked you are supposed to hit the QB. Every time I see bountygate I can't stop laughing. 😂 Who Dat
Pigs have flown, hell has frozen over…I was so happy for the people of Louisiana. A wonderful, passionate and compassionate community.

After 39 years of watching and being a Saints fan i felt complete finally
Never grows old! Brees with his eldest at 1:11:35 is so poignant. Praying that this would repeat itself this season with DK. Geaux Saints!!!!
Unless you have grown through it all from the beginning you'll never know. You'll never know what it was like.

Saints Superbowl (SB44) is now the tenth most watched TV event (as of 7-17-2024).
This is going to be the most bittersweet weekend with Seans return and Drews retirement. LEGENDS NO MATTER WHAT!
Saints don't commit sins, Saints, pray, and that's what the Saints did
Coach Payton had come a long way from being a replacement quarterback in 1987
I wish BERNARD,BUDDY, DILIBERTO, could have seen this
