Hi Guys, i found a solution for all of us: Do not download the Panorma picture directly when you see the 3 points (Download) after creating the Picture. Instead go back to the main media area of your room and click on the white arrow on the right of the photo. Problem solved. Thank me later. From 1920 Pixels to 4096 within seconds.......
4096x2048 is still not the full resolution either. For that you need t use the API - I found this video while searching for a way of getting the full resolution panoramas exported / imported as I thought that this video was including the necessary steps to get the full version but alas not.
where is this window? I tried to download the 18MP HDR pano from the camera and, edited the reflection and added to the tour but the colour and brightness is different to the one matterport exported + the tripod is visible.
thanks @AgentCaseyG for this video! I was able to tweak a few photos using the steps as outlined in your video and as noted it now works in iOS for the iPhone. Your videos on Matterport are very informative and helpful.
Thank you! everything works but i still have one big problem, when i re upload the scan after the correction the resolution is extremely inferior to the others! so it's quite noticeable during the tour. How can i improve the quality of the pic or am i doing something wrong?? thank you
Glad it worked, my guess is you somehow changed the quality in one of the steps. Most likely when you saved it. Save it again and make sure it is at the highest quality. A quick way to tell is if you have the original file and the new file see how big they are. The one you edited should be the same or larger in most cases.
Matterport only lets you download a low res Version of the 360-Pano. Its like 140kb. They do this because 360 Pano Images are so much more flexible and can be uploaded to ther website besides Matterport. So to have decent resolution you are forced to let your 3dcans be hostes exclusively on Matterport hoster. Depends on the quality that is needed.
@Michael-le2tj. I was just looking into this exact thing. Looks like they changed things. The way to fix/work around this is to download from the camera you use and upload. Unless you use the pro cameras then stuck with it. Unless you buy the photo package.
@@AgentCaseyG I have the same problem right now and dont know how to handle it... the download Image is very bad, so also the upload after edit in photoshop. Have you found a solution?
@alexcrew10 what camera did you use? Do you have the file on that camera still? Matterport changes settings so no longer can download a high quality image. Or at least free. I’m researching a solution. But for now. If you have it in the camera you used you can do it with that photo.
yes, I used this technique to get rid of tripod and camera reflections in mirrors too. was using the pro3 camera but as Casey says any camera should work
Finally I can use the 72MP of my insta360 X3 on matterport tours using the import 360 scans. works on iOS.. but takes longer to upload than the 18MP HDR panos
Not clue at all. I tried to find out but it is just in the works. To me it was worth buying a $200 tablet to create the next level tour. Coming soon with this method is taking DSLR 360 photos and creating a matterport tour with them.
@@AgentCaseyG I look forward to your workflow for DSLR 360 photos to Matterport. Sounds like you just need to add the DSLR 360s to the Android tablet and follow the same workflow? Dan
@@DanSmigrod that is the theory. Take the photos as I would in a matter, port tour, and then upload it, and it will create a doll house. Assuming I place the camera in good positions. Hi Casey, excellent vid thanks you. I have some questions if you dont mind. I've been getting into the Matterport field here in NYC. I'm freelancing with a company and learning as I go. So far ,so good and I love the tech. Quest1 : did you take any classes or programs to learn this stuff or figure it out ( like me so far).? Quest 2. what is the pay rate protocol. I'm trying to figure it out now with the owner of the co. and want to have a basic idea of what i should be charging or what the rate is based on. thanks so much looking forward to more of your content.Jimmy
I’m 100% self taught I was able to test a lot of different things in vacant homes I had access to. A lot of testing to see what works and what doesn’t. As for the pay rate I really couldn’t tell you what a tech should be making as compared to the owner who is also doing the work. Currently I price compared to my market in the residential pricing and I charge a lot more for venues etc but that is a while other ball game with Matterport or using 3D Vista.
@@AgentCaseyG okay thank you that's really good information. Our people are being considered a tech or specialist? Do you think charging $400 for a brownstone with four stories plus a basement and roof is a feasible rate? Just to throw out a number and circumstance? Also thank you for the quick reply.
Thanks! This is great. Have you tried this technique to do other photoshop work on scans like adding items to the scan that weren't there? My client wants me to add pictures on a blank wall. Can this technique be used for that?
Yes, it can 100%. I would suggest using affiniti photo since you can edit 360 photos and add things with that program and it will look correct. I will try to do a video to show an example ASAP.
Hi Agent Casey. This video is very informative and well done. My question is, can you export an 'exterior' 360 Pano, edit it in Photoshop then import it back into Matterport (via the App) then use it in the Highlight Reel? I tweaked the skies in the photos and would like to tweak the 360's used in the highlight reel.
I think you can do that. The main issue now with updates anything you download from Matterport is low res. If you can download from your 360 camera do the edit and upload via the app it should work how you intend.
I really appreciate your quick response. Thank you. @@AgentCaseyG That's too bad that it's low res. My job is to take photos from the scans, edit the photos and create the tours. I work remotely so don't have access to the Matterport Scanner. I'd have to ask my boss to send me the scans. Is that something that's tricky to do or would that be relatively easy for him? I will add that my boss is the one who sent me your tutorials in the first place. I've really learned a lot from you. Keep up the great work!
Very cool. Trying it out and im having major alignment issues. I have it on IOS, and it let’s me upload the photo but it looks distorted and does not align. I even tried it without the edited version, still does not align properly. I scan with Matterport Pro 3, maybe thats the issue? Any suggestions? Please let me know, thank you!
It shouldn’t be the camera, at least I can’t see why it would be. One issue could be when you are editing the photo you accidentally adjust the pano and that causes the alignment problem. But when you say it happens on the original photo too.. maybe it’s an iOS bug? I will test it out and see what happens for me. Video to follow with results. Thanks
Do you have an example of what you mean? I show going outside on a couple scans. I will upload a recent one. It’s mostly small steps, but it won’t show the depth of the pool just the outline for the most part and the water in the pool.

Yes. In general you can. But main problem is if you change the contrast/brightness etc it will have a little trouble aligning.
