    Great video. I'm thinking about buying a matterport camera

    Love the content! Thank you :) I’m still trying to build up the confidence to start calling REALTORS. I mean I’ve already called many before I bought the camera but now that I have it and practiced a few times I’m still hesitant mostly because of my delivery of the virtual tour has not been perfected. At this point I only have a link, but I’m starting to look into the tourbuzz platform that you exposed me to on you other video. Thanks again :)

      I can relate- that’s why I switched to Tourbuzz but their are a number of other platforms available! My first jobs came from Zillow! Everyday, I looked at “just posted” listings and “For sale by owner” and called them! You got this! Sell them an opportunity not a service!

    That's very helpful! So the other way around if I go up the stairs, let's say from 1st to 2nd floor, I set my second floor to start once I'm elevated and scanning the first step up after the 1st floor?

    • @illini360media
      @illini360media  3 роки тому

      Yes! That is correct. Don’t worry too much about the labels on your iPad when scanning because in processing, matterport will decide where floor 1 ends and where floor 2 starts. Sometimes matterport starts the 2nd floor on the step below the 2nd floor landing, other times it’s right at the top of the landing.

      I got it off of eBay! (For iPad Pro 11" 12.9" inch 2020 Rotating Stand Case Cover w Hand Shoulder Strap) I will include the link. www.ebay.com/itm/For-iPad-Pro-11-12-9-inch-2020-Rotating-Stand-Case-Cover-w-Hand-Shoulder-Strap-/193493544564?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

    Great Video - do you typically try to start at the lowest floor and work your way up? Also how do you tackle a home that has two sets of stairs up to one balcony overlooking a foyer, for example? down to up and then back over to the other stairwell, and down to up?

    • @illini360media
      @illini360media  Рік тому

      Yes! I typically start from the lowest level and work my way up! (you can scan in any order as long as the scan points connect) in this training video, I did it opposite

    So regardless of whether going up or down - I set another level either on the 2nd stair (down or up) but I could also do this on arrival at the new level? In your case here you have added the basement on the 2nd step, but you could have done this upon arrival of the basement?

    • @illini360media
      @illini360media  3 роки тому

      Yes! thats correct. Matterport actually picks the levels in processing. Sometimes they will put "floor 1 (basement)" starting at the last step, and other times its at the step where it meets floor 2 (main level)" The floor/level options on your ipad is more to keep you organized during scanning. When I first started, i thought setting the levels would be set in stone after processing, but thats not how it works. When I'm actually scanning a house, I start from the most lowest finished level and work my way up (no attics). My "floor 1" on the ipad is the basement, once i get to the last stair where the basement meets the main level, i add a new floor (floor 2) and scan again. (1 tripod leg on main floor, and 2 tripod legs on the first step heading down) Thats my first scan point for floor 2. I then make another scan right on the main floor (all 3 tripod legs on the main floor) and I continue on.

      @@illini360media Tx so much for the detailed reply! It sounds like it simple and complicated at the same time! Maybe it's best not to overthink it and pay more attention to scanning the stairs properly as you explained.

    Do you useally keep doors open or closed inside rooms? How does this work?

    I placed the 360 icon on the patio door to offer the viewer the opportunity to see the exterior 360 image but the "Walking person" icon to get back inside it is placed on the back of the camera and not on the same patio door. What am I doing wrong? I would really, really appreciate your reply.

      You're not doing anything wrong! This is a common frustration with the system.

    Why do you point the camera like you do? I always just make sure it isn’t pointed towards me so I can hit the button as I am walking away.

      just a weird habit! For some reason i typically spin it one way or another. Plus, if I have to hide from the camera, turning it the opposite way of me allows time to walk back as its spinning

    How about a single pole stand with a small ( lead weighted) heavy base , add a long handle and two small wheels to haul from point to point. Add a dummy cord for those stair shots so it wont take off down the steps. A self leveling mount to speed things up.

      I can see that working for some. When I’m scanning naturally (and not scanning for a video) stairs are actually pretty quick!
