It’s a wonderful tutorial. I did it all. It seems to me that you only need about 1/3 of the praline paste mixed in with the frangipane and crème pâtisserie. I made the whole recipe for the praline and saved 2/3 of it. Could you comment? Does your recipe here make one or 2 galettes? Merci, Je suis ravie d’avoir enfin réalisé cette galette. Bravo, William.
Okay guys....I made this. It's really strange tasting. The filling is bizarre. Don't believe me? That's cool. Make it yourself and let me know what you think. Is it worth the colossal amount of time it took to sort out the recipe? Is it worth making far too much of the filling components because William was too lazy to scale down the recipe appropriately? I found that it most certainly was not.
I guess may be you were expecting a "cake" in a more traditional style? I've tried it and I very much liked it. May be because I love the taste of all the nuts in there.
That looks amazing! I didn't realize this is how it is traditionally made! I always see it as a cake, cake, not with puff pastry. I need to try this. Thank you and Happy new year! :)
Thanks Courtney, happy new year to you too! There are actually two types of King’s Cake one which is more of a Brioche type of thing and the one I am sharing here 💫
I've made the almond-only version of this and made the pâte feuilleté for it. The end product is sensational. Crispy, crunchy, light and airy, bursting with flavour. It's what I would call a "perfect recipe".
Hi William ... I have found this kind of cake accidentally today and I have to say that I am very excited to try this one. Thank you very much for sharing this treasure :)
Hi. I’ve been wanting to make this beautiful cake. Instead of one large cake, I’d love to make it into many small cakes. How many and what size do you think I could get out of this recipe? Thank you for sharing.
Yes, those are pecans.....but you are wrong about amaretto, as it may be made from apricot kernels, bitter almonds, peach stones, or raw almonds, all of which are natural sources of the benzaldehyde that provides the almond-like flavour of the liqueur.
My granddaughter is spending 18 months on a Church mission in France. I love all the foods she talks about that she has eaten. This looks and sounds amazing. I can't wait to try it!
Church mission? Wow, what a sham. She is being used by her church to try to increase market-share for her brand of Christianity. France is overwhelmingly Roman Catholic, and I'd bet her church is a different branch of Christianity. Her church wants a share of that sweet Roman-Catholic cash. Missions are all the same....market-outreach.
1. Don't add music to a cooking channel, this is annoying even without the voice. 2. Why is your face popping up constantly? I came to see a recipe not a talking head. Keep camera on the food. 3. Too much sugar with all that caramelized nut brittle. Less sweet is better. I think the filling is overdone.
Miraculous ladybug got me here 😅😂
Me too.
Same here🙌🏻
DUDE SAAAAME. I'm so determined to make this xD
Same 🤣

I tried the King's cake for the first time in Paris few years ago, it was a bread with baby Jesus, I learn the story since then :)
It was actually a baby Satan....
Ladybug 🐞 got me to see this
Jajaja yo también lo busque Miraculous.. y es idéntica
Umm, those are pecans not walnuts….just saying…
Looks good but this is not traditional real French 🙏🏻
That looks absolutely delicious. As soon as I saw the nut praline I knew this is one that I will make. Thank you.
Thanks so much ✨
@queenbrooksie Did you end up making it? I did....and it was extremely underwhelming. The filling is quite strange.
Happy new year the cake looks really delicious and wonderful 🎂😃
Thanks!! 🤗🤗
Technically, Kings' Cake, not King's (des rois, pas du roi), but wow, I had never heard of it!
I just watched Miraculous LadyBug Season 4 ep 21 about this Galette..I wanted to try this so bad 😭
Hi William ... I have found this kind of cake accidentally today and I have to say that I am very excited to try this one.

Hey Nigerian 🇳🇬 I am a Nigerian j'adore ce gallete de rioe
The second nut added was pecan nuts not walnuts and amaretto is actually made with peach kernels not almonds, although it tastes like it
