You can also try reaction on My Tears Ricochet folklore long pond studio sessions. There's a commentary she did there that is about divorce but fans speculate that this is also about her former record label
Oh, I think it’s definitely about Scott Borchetta and Big Machine and the whole debacle over Borchetta selling Big Machine and her masters to Scooter Braun - though I’m guessing many of her songs aren’t about just one thing, and I appreciate that she likes to make her songs simultaneously personal and universal. Still, her reference to “stolen lullabies” pretty much confirmed for me that this was largely about her masters being sold out from under her.
You need to speak into a mic. I had to turn up my volume way up to hear you, and then back down for the video. I chuckled when you said you never thought you would like Taylor Swift so much. She has gotten a bad rap, Taylor has 10 studio albums, she works hard, and she put out "folklore" and "evermore" during the pandemic. Taylor sings with Justin on evermore, the song is "evermore".
@Violet316 She has got a bad rap... you might even say she's got a... wait for it... Big Reputation. So many people only know her for 'bubblegum pop' or the 'breakup songs' that they hear on the radio and have dismissed her as an artist. But those of us who have been around for a while, and actually listen to her deep cuts on her albums that don't make it to the radio, know that she is a brilliant lyricist and song writer and composer. We, as fans, are very, very lucky to be a part of this.
I love the lyrics of Taylor songs for me she is one of the only Pop stars that actually have great lyrics also she write and produce every song she do and play every instrument
Justin Vernon recorded this in an entirely separate state due to COVID. It was really cool they could make this work while not even being in the same recording studio. Vernon was in WI and Taylor recorded this in NY(??) at Aaron Dessner’s (of The National) recording studio at Long Pond. ❤
They were in different states! Vernon was in his studio in Eau Claire, WI; Taylor is with Jack Antonoff (invisible here) and Aaron Dessner of The National at Dessner's studio in the Hudson Valley of New York. Dessner and Antonoff played her folklore album for the film, in track order; and they talk about making the album and the music in the film documentary (The Long Pond Studio Sessions). The album isn't typical of her work -- but she very deliberately sets out to change her sound with every album -- to stretch out of her comfort zone. It is one reason she hasn't faded out; the other is the lyrics. This is about as close as she's gotten to her original sound in years.

More Taylor! My Tears Ricochet
They’re voices do complement each other, they have 2 more songs together, Evermore and Renegade.
And he did backing vocals on Marjorie 😁

The fact that they made this song without even meeting due to covid is insane.
