I got recommended this song as a more uplifting version of Ren. While it is more upbeat it still has those dark elements I feel are woven into Rens lyrics. I enjoyed the Track. If you like my reaction please like and subscribe! Enjoy music!

If you like this you’d like folklore and evermore albums, and some songs on TTPD. Justin is a great artist and songwriter. Keep in mind these are Taylor’s songs and he is a guest, she wrote 90% of exile and evermore and he added his bridge part. They had never even met until a year or so after this was even released. So, they weren’t in the studio together writing. She and her boyfriend at the time Joe wrote exile together. Same with this song. joe is actually playing the piano. Some I think you may like: My tears ricochet Peace This is me trying Cowboy like me Chloe Sam Sophia or Marcus The Prophecy Ivy
Subscribed for more Taylor Swift reactions 🔥
Justin Vernon recorded this in an entirely separate state due to COVID. It was really cool they could make this work while not even being in the same recording studio. Vernon was in WI and Taylor recorded this in NY(??) at Aaron Dessner’s (of The National) recording studio at Long Pond. ❤
Subbed for more TSwift
I heard from another source, that he turned himself in, got 4 years probation 120 hours community service, well deserved, I heard some of the other motorcyclists didn’t like that he did that… take ownership of your wrong doings
Suggestion: Most watch for your reaction and have seen the music-video many times already. Reverse the frame-sizes so that the image of yourself is the larger of the two. Your video is about you and your reaction, not the video you are reacting to.
I guess I need a producer...lets get to work. Let me know
I got into doing this when I was in my late teens one summer, competing against my dad so we were pushing each other to do more and more. Except we were using U.K. 2p pieces which are much bigger/heavier than a quarter. We had a rule the coins all had to be in a single vertical stack, and you had to catch every one you tried (the world record apparent uses different coins and you can pile them up anyhow and you can drop some, which is all cheating in my book). Anyhow, back then, I beat my dad who managed 68, by doing it with 72 2p coins. That was way more than I could hold in my other hand in a line - so I had to do the first part of the stack with about 20 or so coins (I forget how many) but low enough I could still balance it while I had to carefully stack up a whole hand full, one handed, slowly sliding the last coins up with my thumb to put another at my finger tips. Oh - we also had a rule you had to do all the coin stacking yourself, no one could help you pile the coins up. But you could have a stack pre-made to pick up one handed - but I couldn’t actually hold enough in my hand even then hence having to add the others slowly. The pile was much bigger than my hand to catch them of course, so the catch had to not just be a snatch out of the air, but follow the pile of coins down as they fell, and “fold” the stack so the coins ended up in two lines that just about when from my finger tips up onto my wrist. And I would finish the catch with my hand almost at the floor. …I’ve tried it again many years later (that was about 40 years ago - there was a lot more free time when there was no internet or computer games or TV!) - and I could only get about 40 before the coins splashed everywhere :)
I have really enjoyed your reacts. You share your insights and feelings without it becoming all about you - some reactors can’t find that balance. Your words resonate with me. You honestly choose the perfect words - very intuitive.
15:41 MESSAGE!!!
The lights flashing is battle. The oohs are the haunting
sorry but your volume to low for me to hear.
cant hear a word
A modern day bard
One take yes it is
This is my favorite song on the Evermore album. I love how it’s a sad song about depression but that it ends on a such beautiful positive note. Never lose hope; time does heal.
You assumed correct XD
I just realized he lit a cigarette outside the cancer research building at the start...cheeky lad.
To me , this song is the bohemian rhapsody of our time .
Amazing story telling.
Ren is the King of the one takes and this is a live one take.
I like how you mention restraint in his guitar playing right from the start. I think one of the things that makes Ren’s songs so great is his musicality and innate understanding of when to be complex, keep it simple, or even use silence in both music and lyrics to perfectly convey his message. It always feels simultaneously deliberate and natural. He breathes music and we are lucky we get to listen.
liked your reaction i would turn up volume as this one was low.
Very Good reaction! Welcome to the Ren Train!
Really enjoyed listening to your commentary on Ren's art ❤
It hit`s you late, but I enjoyed the moment it did. Great reaction, man
Check out what you want....his ode to beastie boys. Also animal flow. Chinchilla is another uk independent artist. Watch fingers live, coldwater, little girl gone video and little girl gone live version. Really amaxing artists.
New sub. Ren and chinchilla fan. One minor comment re sound...its hard to hear you sometimes. Great reactions!
happy to see this! ren is self taught, using utube videos to learn guitar!! you summed up ren's sides beautifully. i adore his dark side. i think years of chronic pain like ren and myself (and millions others) experience can 'tilt' the mind in unique ways. i appreciate that about ren, he's unique af. again, great reaction dude. much love, kathleen - bts renegade
👏👏👏
hello, dear. lovely reaction!! ren can really deliver, right? if you choose to go down the ren rabbit hole, welcome to the RENegade family, son. ren is an independant artist with critical chronic health issues. b4 i found ren, his fans did go fund me type donations so he could travel for special treatment. he may always need trmt, don't know. i'm a old hippie (71) and i adore ren and he brings such joy & comfort. much love, kathleen - bts renegade
Good perspective but dude, save it till the end.
I love this colab
Got my sub, good job on the reaction
For an audio engineer to have the music audio track in monophonic is a little disappointing lol
You deserve so many more subs bro
jesus dude look for a 5 min toturial on how to ad in audio sepretly this sounds fucking shit mr "audio engineer" x'D
I loved your reaction but you may want to turn up the volume on your audio a little. I had to increase my usual volume level by 500% to hear the music video properly and 600% in order to hear what you were saying. It's not a major problem. I just thought you might like to know. The only real issue would be, if somebody forgot that they'd massively increased the volume for your video, pressed play in the next video... and woke up all their neighbours in a 10 mile radius. :)
Yet another masterpiece composition from Ren! :)
Great reaction. I've watched way too many Ren reactions, but you really picked up on the nuances. Subscribed, Good job
Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction! Ive been happily stuck in a Ren rabbit hole since stumbling upon this song back in Jan. What ive learned so far, is that im in Great company, i dont want to leave & Ren is a divine gift to this world ❤ New sub from TN 😊
you're doing a great job. don't stop, and don't have any hesitation about loading up on Ren's songs, even for the purpose of building your audience; Ren literally talks about how much he loves the symbiotic relationship between independent artists (especially) and reactors, how maybe HIS fans can help build YOUR channel, and vice versa in terms of putting his music in the ears of people who may not ordinarily give his music a chance. i listen to almost strictly guitar-driven rock (like Queens of the Stone Age) and heavier stuff (death metal, etc.), but i'm not ashamed to say that Ren has me giving even hip hop a chance...of course his version of rap is unique to say the least. his vocal inflections and use of dynamics (i.e. music/beat cutting out completely to emphasize certain important lines he's rapping or singing), his really PURE vocal runs and perfectly timed variations...so many little surprises in store in his songs..."easter eggs," he calls them. so...The Hunger, Illest of our Time--both very fun songs with ridiculously good lyrics, but less serious (also, Genesis)...and then there is what is basically a partner piece with Hi Ren,called Sick Boi--even though they sound and are not structured in any way alike. the subject matters are tightly related. and for several waves of listening joy, his band The Big Push has a great mashup of I shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop that is a blast...or a cover of War Pigs that's really a B. Sabbath/Ozzy mashup w/a touch of Rage Against the Machine... and they have a couple of super-fun originals: Icarus, and Sweet Little Lady...so lively and fun. FUN is really the word to describe that band--all super-talented, switching lead vocalists and even passing the bass around to the 3 frontmen... just thought i'd give little mini-synopses to go along with suggestions so you know more or less what you'd be getting into. cheers from Vegas.
Young man, I really... I mean REALLY... enjoyed your take on this masterpiece. You are one of the very few reactors who mentioned that the lights are flashing at the end with his "joyous" Ooo ooo oooh segment. After a few times hearing this, I think that the flashing is because now he is in the "manic" or overly ecstatic state of a bipolar event. He might be 'up, and positive,' but it's almost an unhealthy overreaction. In his closing monologue, he mentions the pendulum... I think this segment is showing how the pendulum can swing TOO high on the bright side at times. Just my interpretation, of course. I also think Ren is portraying a person (like himself) who is profoundly troubled.... not just your "typical back and forth that we all experience." He mentions psychosis... which often can include hallucinations... actually HEARING and SEEING that alter ego who tears you down every time you think it's going well. Thi is so deep and intense. I think it is art. And your reaction did it justice! Well done!
Sometimes you your sound levels are really off, this is very quiet, both you talking and Ren's video.
If you're going to pause, rewind a little. That way you don't miss anything. You missed several key moments by pausing without rewinding and killed transitions and emotional flow in others. Also, if you enjoy Ren's guitar playing, why mumble continuously, about nylon strings, over the top of his playing, every time it was just Ren and his guitar? If you HAD to make such an obvious point, it only needed to be made once. Why does every male, who's even breathed on a guitar, feel the need to go into full mansplaining mode, usually stating the bleedin' obvious, every time a guitar makes an appearance in a music video? lol
Please fix your audio levels.
I don't know if you've been made aware yet, but your mic level is almost nonexistent. The overall volume of this video is also quite a bit lower than your previous videos.
I took the lights flashing at the end as Ren accepted who he is, allowing the light and dark to become one.
Thanks for reacting to this song. I enjoy your reaction videos and hope you them as long as you continue to enjoy them. As others have mentioned, you might checkout the covers by Ren's former band 'The Big Push,' with Ren and the addition of two other guitar players, they have some wonderful stuff.
Solid choice. Thanks. Oh, there are several Ren songs that are just fun.
Ren fan here who watches about all the Ren reactions that I can find, and as you mentioned, there are a lot of them. You are one of a very few who actual mentioned early on, that Screen basically was a victim almost as much as Jennie, but he was ultimately responsible. The Tales also speak about generational violence. I don't want to believe that people are necessarily locked into their fates at birth, but I do believe that no child can raise themself. Thanks for this reaction.
