Installing a shim behind the wheel bearing is the better way to go. The shim between the hub and the rotors can throw the things out of alignment. However, great instructional video. Thanks man.
It shows that you need the right tool for the job. Some expensive parts to just be using a hand grinder and tin snips
Awhat an animal cutting stuff like that
You're the man JbP! That was a lot of effort. Looking forward to seeing what wheels you throw on it. Definitely wouldn't recommend it on the F80 tho. Lol.
Haha thanks buddy!
@@Jbonly21do u know were I can get that 2.5 mm spacer that goes behind the hub nut

@@Jbonly21 we’re do I get the front brake lines steel braided to fit the f80 m3 or m4 calipers and the rear as well e46 m3 set up
I would use two spacers at the rear instead of cutting in the caliper but that is just me :). Nice conversion otherwise :).
Good job bro
I believe you got the rotors switched. Right side on left and left side on right. Otherwise, good video.
For your E46 M3 rears, you should have gone vys garage kit. No need for grinding.
🔥
Easy geez are these e46 m3 345 rota's cheers 👌✌️
345 rota’s?
Cool im having a problem fitting them to my 46 got the m140i brembo 4pot and e46 m3 csl 345 rotas but the pads are not covering the hole disk one side and hitting the center on the front 😢
345mm csl ?
Got it, maybe you need to run a different pads.
Only the front is worth it
True, less work.
what brake line did you find that would fit the rear brakes? Also, any chance you can weigh the original vs. F80 brakes. Curious how much weight this adds/removes in the front and rear. This is unsprung mass afterall.
I am having custom hose made at Mr hose, I will try to weight the calipers when I get home .
Front : stock 12 Vs 9
Rear: stock 7.14 Vs 6.14
@@Jbonly21 Thanks. I am assuming that this is just the calipers. Can you weigh the rotors as well to get the overall weight increase/decrease in this brake upgrade.
What is this "upgrade" for? Do you run endurance racing? That is a lot of additional unsprung weight...each rotor is about 6 lbs heavier than stock. Calipers and brackets and pads you about net out even.
It’s my track build, looks better hopefully it stop better and is cheaper then a big brake kit. Also you only need brackets in the rear.
Have you faded stock brakes with track pads and fluid?
Nope, I got these for a steal couldn’t pass them up.
Stock E46 M3 brakes are meant to be pretty shit. Heard quite a few times that they’re a weak point of both the E46 & E92
These been great so far, already did one track day with no problems.
Where you bought it fit for the rear brake adapter ?
Hi, will this be compatible with an e46 330ci? Concerned if a non M will still fit
Should be pretty close, but you will need the whole transmission .
This BBK installation doesn’t even look safe.. might as well do a standard BBK from a company that has been working with E46 M3 for years
I'm about to do that exact same upgrade. But I'm running ARC-8's 18" so I don't know if they'll fit. Do you have 18's or 19's on your stick wheels?
I am running apex SM 10 in 18, you should be fine.
@@Jbonly21 appreciate it brother
I want to run the same set up sm 10 19 inch though 9.5 in front and 10 in the back I have braded lines in front from the e46 m3 calipers would they work with the f80 m3 calipers
@keronsmith8459 yes that should work, I am probably going to switch to 10 in the rear as well for better fitment.
@@Jbonly21 so can the braided line on the e46 m3 work with the f80 caliper
Changing the wheel wil’ not do a thing lolz the caliper will not expend or whatsoever even if you have 2mm spacing thats fine.
But they need it for the front
Are the 435 calipers the same
As the f80 m3
Yes
No they have different flanges, so they only allow for use of 340mm rotors unlike the f80 ones with 380mm rotors…
Bro where did you bought those rotors?
They are stock f80 rotors.
So much wrong here, where do I start 🤔🙄
The fronts, why didn’t you just take off the brake shield instead of butchering it🤔
You say the front run calliper’s run close to the standard 19” rim… close isn’t touching & even with heat & a bit of wheel deflection it won’t catch!
The rears…. Again take off the brake shield, don’t butcher it, you’ve also removed the strength out of the rear calliper in what you’ve done, to be honest your better off buying a proper kit either AP, Brembo etc to be honest.
The discs have L& R etched into them…. How the chuff can you get them on the wrong way ffs🤔🙄
Hey I didn’t do this install any different then all the write ups I have seen on line, also I didn’t expect to cut off that much. Removing shield equals removing hub, I choose not to remove hub until it’s time to replace them.
@@Jbonly21 removing the hub each side takes 5 mins so no excuse really.
Bending the shields & butchering them the way you have is just gash!
Wouldn’t let you work on a wheel barrow !
@@darrenboston342 Last time I check it’s my car and I can do what ever I want with it. I don’t work on wheel barrow.
@@Jbonly21 judging by your work skills your not qualified to work on wheel barrows!!
Your gash, personally I feel sorry for that 46 M3 having you working on it!!
@@darrenboston342Ik this late but you hating
Where did you get your rotor spacer from?
