I experienced this problem for a couple of years. It started soon after I started experiencing lumbar and low back pain on the same side. I fixed the low back pain by stretching the QL muscle (by doing the exercise showed here, plus bending at 45 degrees to the side and forward), and I fixed the stabbing hip pain by raising/abducting my affected leg at 45 degrees to the side and the front and raising/extending it to the back and extending with a load from a rubber band
Hi there! This sounds so similar to me. I have had awful low back pain but now it's this sharp nerve like pain that wraps around my pelvis like a belt. Everything hurts. Twisting, bending, picking anything up. I'm a mother of 4 and my youngest has autism. I need to be well. Google has my head spinning thinking it's ankylosing spondylitis or something terrible. I feel disabled with this. Is there any videos you can link to show me the exercise you done please? Would appreciate it ❤️

I just want to feel well so I will do anything I need to. I currently have 2 slipped ribs that I need operating on so that isn't helping as I can't use my core well. I sit and do artwork. Neck really stiff and sore and trapezius muscle too . I need to take more walks and rides and stretch more
This explains a lot I game a lot and pick up basketball might be a problem too sometimes I’m moving too fast for my own good And doing juke moves at times it fells like my hip is literally pooping out of place figuratively tho

i do a lot of driving......im 65 years old.....i have stiff hip flexors that limit me twisting to see at a stop sign that the road is sort of behind my left shoulder.....its hard to turn my head and body lately......i also had to buy a bidet to go to the bathroom because i dont bend that direction anymore either and i have a hard time picking stuff up off the floor.....i know its stiff hip flexors, any exercises or stretching you suggest?
I have left side very sharp stabbing pain around this area. I sit A LOT. It lasts less than a second when it happens, and only happens a few times per day. When I extend my leg and flex my foot back towards me it recreates this pain.
When i lay down at night i rest my arm on my side an where my elbow rests while i sit up a little while 😢 a before for laying. down. What is in there ??? It’s not my hip
I know that eventually I'm gonna have to have my left. Hip replaced I have to slide down the steps because I can't put any weight on my left leg. Because the stabbing pain starts on the outpart of the hip area goes into the groin. And then I feel a jolt in the back of my butt. Area not very pleasant to say the least.

My right hip hurt most of the time . At times I can’t bend , sit down motion is a no go or even stand . It goes into what I call a Charlie horse type condition . Laying down is the only way to not be in pain
My hip area stabbing pain started as I was out for my usual morning run. But I haven’t ever (in 40 years or running )had this particular pain in this area. At about 1.5 miles it started some discomfort or muscle tightness more back from the area you’re talking about. Feels like the top of the bone close to the joint on my left hip. If I put my fingers in that front bone my thumb hits the side and go down with my thumb to more soft tissue, that is extremely sore! Time I made 1.75 mile mark I knew I had to stop running and would have to walk back. I’m 66. Hope it gets better. I had planned my typical 4 mile run today, that I do Tuesday, Wed. & Friday. Doubt I can go anymore this week. I think its best not to at this age. Maybe if it gets better I will try walking a mile or so to see if that helps. Do you think the exercise you are doing here will help even though its not the exact same spot? Thanks!
This happened to me out of no where. I had no strength in my leg and was in severe pain and could walk for close to a week. My front hip was swollen and hot! It resolved with rest. Till this day I can not recall a traumatic cause. I woke up and just could walk and in extreme pain. .. this gives me answers tho!

That’s exactly where my pain is. But it burns and it’s really bad when I sit up from a lying position. I don’t drive very often. And I have a connective tissue disorder that makes my tendons, ligaments, muscles…basically everything…prone to injury. Ortho thinks I tore something. Insurance denied MRI. Going to go back to ortho to get another MRI order. I’ll pay cash this time, if I have to. This is excruciating.
All of a sudden when I got into my car last night I felt the sharpest burning pain. Today it's been stinging and burning and when I got into my car today it was even worse. It's like being burnt right in that spot.

You have to be a cross country trucker to develop that problem from driving. I don't drive, however I play tennis daily and am experiencing this pain. This exercise / movement does help. Thanks
I have exactly this and it has resulted in severe erectile dysfunction. To get an erection I need to tilt the hip sideways before having sex. And the function is really compromised still. It hurts when I tilt the hip from side to side. Othewise it doesnt hurt except when I palpitate the area you're talking about. Palpitation of these muscles while doing this stretch is really painful. And stretching makes it worse. I have had this for 3 years now.

@@jadep4802 Sounds like a myofascial pain syndrome. you should probably stretch your glutes and massage trigger points

I got this pain but from a shifted si joint . This stretch does help .
