Today I unbox some Hybrid Audio speakers and test fit them in the Mercury to see if they will fit. Then I decide what audio components I will use in my next stereo system build. I also test fit my McIntosh MCC4000m amplifier and discuss different options on how I can hook everything up. Then I make some custom bezels for my 3" wide band Hybrid Audio Legatia speakers.

that grampa car is going to make your hairline recede even faster....
That mohawk is coming in nicely.
Dudes driving a comfortable, easy to work on, reliable car. I don't think he gives much of a fluff mate.
I'm sure it will be a lowrider, common on these cars
@@josmith213 I kinda hope not. That car really is a really good solid car. Just leave the wheels and coils alone!
@@jameslaidler2152 have you watched and listened to the video and last one? He has been talking about hydraulics the whole time!
I have missed these videos.we need more done constantly
Oh, 1 10" Sub again??? Why dont you build something loud for a change?!
Doug I can't believe how long I've been a longtime subscriber of yours for yrs . I also appreciate your being a subscriber of mine as well . Although I do miss Raffa
❤
I miss his mom
Jack telnak is gonna be soo proud
I watched this on the toilet…gets the job done every time! Thanks buddy
McIntosh for the win! I have some 10's still sitting around with your name on them! LOL
Excited to see how it turns out
Press "X"
Those speakers look lovely sir! Such a purdy magnet to never get to be seen again though😢
Car came with an AARP membership, Jitterbug cellphone, and a Life Alert bracelet.
It doesnt matter what you did doug😂 them speakers look really sweet
I was sponsored by Hybrid Audio back in 2017 and also helped bring Black Betty up to date for what was the current rules in 2018. I loved working with Scott and Klifton. Scott taught me so much.
I had a 2008 Acura TL ( I believe you had one too or at least put a pretty decent system in one) and just had 5 speakers total...
I have the L2 like you have here. I ran them as widebands. They fit perfectly into the OEM dash locations. They actually hit a little above 21khz. The wide dash and angled windshield helped a lot with imaging. Now I used the L6 for midbass.in the lower factory door locations. If you look at the specs, they are actually a 7 inch speaker but I think they are called a 6 because of how Scott measured only the cones as most brands measure in the surround too.
I then had a single 15in Hybrid Clarus sub. This is easily one of the best subwoofers in car audio history.I have never seen a more accurate and versatile sub as it could be used in every enclosure possible. From bandpass to IB! I measured it down to 10hz....with music.
I also used two of their 4 channel class D amps. They were bridged to two, 2 channel amps pushing over 200w to each speaker. The little L2's took it also. I ran them for 3 years and never blew a single speaker.
I ran a matching Hybrid 1k monoblock on the 15.
Even though these were class D amps, they had some of the best SQ of just about any amps I've used. And I own amps from Sinfoni to Zapco and the HAT amps could not be told apart!
Sorry for the long message but I just wanted to reassure others that you are using some of the best, most winning speakers, in recent car audio history!
Great job Doug!
This man isnt lying. Black Betty was a true beauty and an engineering marvel. HAT drivers powered and tuned right will rumble your socks off with optimal clarity no doubt
@@VanLifeKen thank you. I am truly blessed to be one of the few people to have heard her and seen under her dress at the same time lol.
I've had six spine surgeries after finding three tumors on my spine back in 2014. It left me pretty depressive state but hybrid audio plus passion from Scott, the owner mom pretty much saved me I'm a bad section of my life. Fell in love with car audio again and love being involved with it now!
@@justinmurphy2227 i heard that! That first part gave me a good laugh. Hope your recovery is going well sir! Yea, once u hear music the right way, theres no going back.
Excellent vehicle choice. Strong, reliable, comfortable, ridiculously easy to work on, CHEAP! Excellent value for so much car.
My adopted daughter bought one of these, she got a great deal on it and the old man that had the vehicle before didn’t drive the car much, so it had low miles and the interior looked brand new.
She loves her big ass boat!
The cars name is Bertha and she has a Personality all her own.🤣
Got dang my boy Douglas is back to his old self again!!!
17:23 great philosopher of our time. Doug is the Tsun Tzu of our car audio modern warfare times. You are the leader we don’t deserve but desperately need.
build a cover enclosure over the macintosh amp, use the white acrylic panel with side light over the "scratched" long strips to blend with the pillar idea.
Yep, I like where this is going. Speaker placement is awesome. Gotta go with the big Mac Amp. Outboard DSP for the win.
I would love to see you go a bit further into door panel modification. When I started watching your channel, I was attracted by your fabrication skills and creativity. I saw you take immense consideration to sound quality, and that appealed to me. Please consider doing something fun with the doors panels (enlarge the grill opening) to accommodate the 8” driver.
Your bi-weekly trips to the hair salon will sound great!!! All the other old ladies will be so jealous!
So Doug, when you slapin that Ford Lightning motor in it? No more grandpa jokes!
Excellent Doug. Another year of entertaining system build. Hopefully, you might finish this one
I want a Grand Marqueef, such a good car. I’m stoked for this series, glad to see something off the beaten path getting some love.
Hey a Bass Van now that's a good idea! wow
Ahhhh 😊I remember Knight Rider from back in the day, one of my favorite show, I had the bike. I love that Grand(Marquis)Daddy, comfortable ass vehicle and the trunk space!!!!💯💯
Doug you are by far the Mist Entertaining youtuber Audio badasss mo fo 🔊🔊🔊👍👍👍👍👍
I would recommend that you send those beautiful amps off to have the caps refreshed due to their age. Gotta use that longboard amp IMHO. Whatever direction you go with it I'll be along for the ride.
Those backlit A pillar tweets are gonna be fuggin RAD!
You need to make more videos like this . Awesome Audio equipment. You have some really great skills.
THAT THUMBNAIL 😂😂 WUD UP DOUG!!
That tweeter/mid pillar mount is giving me a chub.
EXO still going harder than doug on the bass van! 176k views in 12 days! Bro is a legend in the car audio world! I would go as far and even say the best in the biz! Trust me i have a V4 Altima my chick lets me borrow with 6x9's in a shoe box that goes harder than any vehicular anyone has ever seen!
Ladies and gentlemen, it's the 2024 Grand McQueffintosh!😂😂😂
😂
Thanks all the great content Doug. The Grand Marqueef has been the go to for us budget lowriders for a long time. I'm excited to see what you do with it.
Aww hell yeah, a new video and its 30+ minutes! ❤ miss the shots of the cnc machine doing it's thing but you included the 3D work on the computer so that's awesome! Loved the snippets of Benny and John Ritter smoking angel dust. Dude, your videos are the best 😂
Those cars are perfect for sound quality, they are very dense and That's why they have a suspension that feels nice
Always entertaining! That boat will rock! Loved my Hybrid separates in my 2013 Beetles.. by the way they have an 8" opening in the doors.
I love the Panther platform. Gonna be sick af
You gotta put 2 free air kicker 15” behind the back seat!! No box needed! Get you a Zeus amp and pound pavement!!
I would do exactly the same as your mind is thinking Doug 😎
The thumbnail is great 😂 the grand marqueif is coming along nicely 😅
That is going to be awesome build🎯
I'm only halfway through and I'm excited to see how you fit those speakers in the door and still make the windows works.
Hoping to find out before the episode is over. Will update.
I enjoy watching the builds, from idea to final product. Great work, better that anything I have
@5:56😂 Doug I’m glad you’re still rockin and cockin-err..cockin with your bockin..anyway…glad you’re still making us laugh while learning us gooder things!🎶👂👍📸
Can’t wait for this series!!! Thank you Doug, this is the car we have been waiting for, I’d run the biggie instead of the twin amps because repainting it would be a great video and looks sexy as all bloody hell mate 🤙🏼
I like it, you’re now going sound quality .
I truly wonder how this series is not on Motor Trend…. The massive amount of automotive knowledge continually shared far exceeds the $5.95/mo that they charge. How are you not at 1M subscibers with your own shop and buying multiple sources projects per year, that bring continual revenue?
Doug, I am pleased you support multiple Ford projects. Happy to see the Grand Marqueef getting some love, and hate. 😂
Thanks!
Best episode ever.
Thisr Hybrids are delicious. Ran the L8's L3SE's and L1SE's a decade ago with dual Phoenix Gold Ti12d Elite's.
Damn Doug is still alive I haven’t see a sound man video in ages lol
Great job Doug very cool build. Can always count on you making me laugh don't change a thing! Lol
I just wait to see what's next I've watched you for the last 5 years or so and I've learned to expect the unexpected with you
And I wouldn't care if it was a yugo I watch you not the cars because without Doug Bernard their wouldn't be a sound Man
I'm on my 3rd Panther car, I currently daily an 04Ultimate with 250k, custom dual exhaust, P71airbox and a 93 octane Marty tune. I previously had a one owner 03LSE (like yours) with 70k sold it and bought a 2003 Maruader with 50k miles 32 valve 4.6 Darth Vader Batmobile AKA "Midnight Maruader" both with Atoto A6P7 Android head units, amps ,subs etc..
There's a company that makes door cards that hold 2 - 8"cones, you can also buy A piller gauge pods to mount your tweakers in. Irregardless nice choice on the Grandma Keith. The fuvked up engine noise is your belt tensioner. Do yourself a flavor and get a Duralast DW-4403 battery wire and ground your alternator mount to your battery ground with said cable. Just put air bags in the front you can adjust the rear airbags up and down with the level switch underneath. HAVE FUN
Start out with a custom 2.5" dual exhaust, P71airbox and ziptube with a "Marty Tune" from Mo's speed shop in Georgia, then add some 3.73 gears to take advantage of your raging 250hp and don't forget to tint it 5% and put LEDS everywhere so you can drive at night
Car is very clean. 🔥
Excited for this project! Reverse mount all the speakers, back light the cones, run the 6 channel with all your tweeters on two channels, and do some popping paint on all that wood trim!
Doug .... why are you putting a nice stereo in a car that is worth absolutely nothing???? Its a Grandma car!!!! It always will be! Love the channel!!! :)
You can tell he's excited working on it since he didn't cut his thumb off while trimming the door
I’m loving this grandmaqueef series. This is why you’re better than mark the kitchen queen. Dude is always doing builds with 10-15k equipment no one can afford. I prefer to polish turds.
It doesn’t matter what you do Doug, people will watch no matter what. Now roll the next clip hahaha
good video and series, love the room
Yeah I’m subscribed too but the last three videos weren’t in my feed. The designs you laid out for the CNC look great Doug. Nice work man.
Daaaaaaaammmmmnnn Daniel!? Those Lagaitia's aren't cheap! Sheeesh.
You can't go wrong with the Grand Marqeef let's just hope that this time you do four batteries in the truck instead of three
I'm excited to see you working on the panther platform.
There's a twist. Our hero will grab that amp thats for sale and put his amp up for sale for nine grand 😂
Guys. Doug is putting Hybrid AND Macintosh in a Marqueef. Do you even understand what's happening here? Doug just don't give a fuck and I'm here for it. It astounds me that there aren't an army of audio nerds subscribed.
Doug at least you got a 4 door so you can put your walker in the back seat when you're finally get done building this car
That sticker on the inflator reminds me of Rama’s mom. Hot nozzle!!!!
Also, if you use their 6.5s in the doors or kicks, then use the big bastards in the back for extra midbass kick. I run a setup like that with Morels and love the extra midbass.
Just out the 8” on the REAR DECK AND THE 6” on the door put both sets 🔥
Been a while since we saw halleluiah, I'm enjoying this new build Doug, its a yes from me! :)
Can’t wait to finally grab a pair!
I know ya been doin the "I cut my finger off " gig for years ,,but I still loved it
That car is going to be so cool
Looking good Doug at this rate you will be done with this awesome build before Exo uploads his next video (Been editing for a month) 😂
damn Doug went off on those pillar adapters.
what if the subwoofer ignites the fumes
Doug "Marquis" Bernarduwalda. The only thing higher than his hairline is going to be his IASCA score.
Love the videos man! Keep em coming!
This project is WAY MORE GOODER'N the van build! This is something anyone could do plus crown vics are a dime a dozen. Really practical choice bean eater!!😂 Hopefully you'll put a bigger sub in this one! Can't wait to see what kinda shenanigans you'll get into with this car! I'd love to see you hard line air instead of doing hydraulics this time!!
I would mount the Hybrid in the door solid then cut and fabricate the door panel so the speaker threads through it. You’d be able to use or fabricate a custom grille.
Doug, please put your PRO skills on display! Build a vented enclosure for the 8 in the door please!!!! An aperiodic membrane also comes to mind.....
Really? Try it, thats not easy or fun
@@97aaWolves of course it's hard. Nothing great is ever easy. A challenge is always fun. If you can't tell by now, I have. The end result is the fun as a reward for the hard work.
I used the factory spot but made speaker pod in the door panel on the out side I eliminated the gril cut hole fabbed up speaker ring into outer part. But you have to watch the dash. But your a genius at fab you'll figure something out. Great video have a great day
Just sold my Marquis, looking forward to how awesome this turns out!
Soundman come on That trunk has a lot of room for some big subs.
2-18 s infinite baffle
And some hydros!
I would just take a sawzall to the door panel, since it's a Ford product, and then I would hammer out that stupid OEM hole; probably use a couple 4" drywall screws to hold on the 80 lb door card. I might add some saw dust to the door regular tracks so the glass locks up like a Ford is supposed to. I would then remove the steering wheel airbag and install a 6" mid in it's spot. Put that subwhorer under the driver's seat and put the amp in the engine bay. Then cut 4 6x9 holes on the rear deck and run them at 0.5 Ohm Philly style.
6s in the doors, tweets in the sail panels or A pillars, and 8 in the passenger footwell in a small sealed box.
Love Hybrid Audio!
Hey Doug I work at a ford dealership and when I tell you that you stole my idea 😂 I have been trying to build me a lowrider with that model, definitely can't wait to see what you do. Also go with the Macintosh amp in the back with sub box in middle of cylinders ported thru rear deck would be cool. Stay cool my guy and keep this vlogs coming. 🫡✌️
People need to put some respect on the Grand marquis name son. That's America luxury at its finest baby! 😂
Doug you can do a legit sq build with this one, no rear fill only front stage, proper staging with depth and width, time alinement DSP tuning with RTA ect. Maybe even go sealed with a upfront bass enclosure along those lines.
It will work nicely 👌
Thank you
Run all the channels! And the dsp. Take the 10 and mount it in the passenger footwell in infinite baffle for kickbass duties then get another sub for the sub bass in the trunk or put it in the rear deck. Maybe an infinite baffle 12 for the trunk. You want sq, infinite baffle is your number!
The inverted tweeter got me. Turd slipped right out.
Here comes Meatball Madness. Now introducing your starting 5: Mama’s Meatball, Fireball, Pizza Melt, Sicilian and the Wrecking Ball. From March 10th through March 31st, for every 2 meatball sandwiches you buy, you’ll get your next sandwich free! IT'S PEOPLE MEAT!
I'd use all 3
8:21 Whiteboy Doug's gonna make that Merc BUMP! No SLABa me please
Love The Grand Marquis
Doug, you should get a bad ass legendary Jdm car! Like a Toyota Aristo! Or a Blit wagon with 2x12s or even a Toyota Soarer like your friend Stephan that guy is cool!
No choice. Car quifs for that amp! Passive crossover the front channels at the mid/tweeters. Chrome dip the McIntosh shell. ❤
