For me the 2011 Season was better as he was "just" another good player before and suddenly became the greatest player that year. Although not winning as many titles as in 2015 he achieved more than in his entire career before.

Both seasons he was from another planet, no one can produce that level of tennis just no one! The only difference is in 2011 Nadal was the victim while in 2015 Federer was.

Truly raised the game in 2011. And when some players joined him, he raised it again in 2015. Really don't think we'll see the level of tennis that we saw in late 2015 to early 2016 again any time soon. Pleasure to watch.
As an avid Federer fan, I have no shame in admitting Novak as a true champion and a fierce competitor. What Novak has achieved is sensational, even eclipsing the great Fed in many ways. A mental giant, unbreakable mental fortress and above all a humble champion he is, Novak Djokovic. Redefined Tennis and evoking an era of utmost brilliance and sheer tenacity to be able to dominate and win agaisnt Federer and Nadal so yeah one of the Greats of the game.

yeah he had to wait until Roger was 30+ and had a dodgy back before he could beat him regularly, Roger dominated him more than Novax did in their respective primes 69 vs 65 %.
As a total Fed fan I’ve gotta say that Novak is the best player. He has countless surprises within him and is the most all round consistent player debatable with Rafa of course

Novak peaked the highest. Roger is the current GOAT. Nadal is the most consistent winner. By the end of their careers, it will be Novak > Nadal > Roger.
As a total Fed fan I've gotta say that Roger is the best player. He has countless surprises within him and is the most all round complete and consistent player, debatable with Novak and Rafa of course. He has beaten 2015 Djokovic multiple times despite being in worse form when compared to his athletic prime, almost beat a top form 2018-2019 Djokovic two times and has beaten him once in 2019 which in his age is unprecedented and found a way to dominate against Nadal which is one of his two greatest rivals. Of course I admire Novak and Rafa's character and unique gameplay characteristics and enjoy a lot of their matches, they are right up there with Federer.
Edit: Federer also ended Djokovic's amazing streak in 2011, which is the best year of Djokovic's career in my opinion because he found ways to consistently win against a top form Nadal even on clay, and a top form Federer. In 2015 this was not the case.
@@gregheffley2 If you mean it in terms of level of play, we can't know who peaked the highest. There is a number of players who seemed unbeatable in some matches, of course nobody is unbeatable overall. The player who peaked the highest could be Federer, or Djokovic, or Nadal, or even someone else who might have peaked the highest in terms of quality but he was less consistent than those three overall.
@@neophytosdm I think each player's best season was Federer in 2006, Nadal in 2010, and Djokovic in 2011. If each of those players in their respective primes played 3 round robin tournaments against each other on the three main surfaces, I would pick Novak to come out on top. On hard court, I think Novak would go 2-0, Federer 1-1, and Nadal 0-2. On clay, I think Nadal would go 2-0, Novak 1-1, and Federer 0-2. On grass, I think Federer would go 2-0, Novak 1-1, and Nadal 0-2. The final tally would be Djokovic 4-2, Federer 3-3, and Nadal 2-4.
Imagine doing all that against Nadal, Federer, Murray, and Stan...

This is what I'll never understand about praises for Djokovic. 2007-2013 time frame was the peak for tennis.
I mean Novak's competition in 2015 with injury riddled Nadal, not so great in shape/form Federer, then Murray and Wawrinka isn't the top competition he got.
Also Federer gets criticized for dominating a weak era with Roddick, Hewitt, Safin, Nalbandian, Ferrero, Davydenko, old Agassi was a way better competition than this "next gen" with Thiem, Zverev, Medvedev, etc.
I have the utmost respect for Novak. And I believe he'll end up as the goat of male tennis. But this approach never made sense to me.

For me it's the consistency... A 2015 'weak' Fed is still miles ahead of Ferrero, Kuerten etc and Djockovic has beaten Fed at his best! And his postive head to head against Fed and Rafa... I dont think he blows them out of the water by any means but I do think at this stage he's better.
But also I think we're lucky to have 3 guys you can all genuinely discuss as being the greatest ever, playing right now and with such unique styles... Its unseen in any other sport and so special 🔥 🇨🇭 🇪🇸 🇷🇸

It’s a shame Wimbledon is cancelled but it’s only a matter of time before he overtakes them in grand slams. He’s already overtook them in everything else. It’s getting harder and harder to make a case for anyone else being the greatest ever.

I think that 2015 may have been a more impressive year than even was the great 2011 for Djoko, because in 2015 he took nobody by surprise as perhaps he did in the beginning rounds of 2011. In 2015 he was clearly at the top of the heap, separated from the subordinated others, with every big gun opponent targeting him, and still he remained a nearly untouchable giant start to finish in that year.

On hard courts in AO and Hopman Cup and especially IW and Miami if played which is expected since Djokovic has had most success in. Not the same on clay against Nadal or in the American hard court season.
And it is continued this year 2023 Novak played 4 GS finals and won 3 of them at 36 years of age, true GOAT and what is scary he is not stoping🙌
4 finals in a row, and *then* AO 2012 came along. No wonder Nadal and Roger have him in their heads, they just have a block against him.
Actually that AO 2012 final was where Rafa got back some of his competitive fighting spirit against Novak. Rafa had spent most of 2011 being beaten in finals by Novak, including taking 6-1 sets in GS finals like Wimbledon and the US Open, but starting in 2012 Rafa was more competitive as, even though Novak nearly beat him in the 4th set of that AO 2012 final, Rafa won that set and was close to beating Novak at his best slam in the 5th. After that Rafa beat Novak in 3 finals in a row in Monte Carlo, Rome and the French Open.
As a huge Fed fan, it is now almost certain that Djokovic will beat Federer's GS record. For sure. This will happens, no doubt.

Djokovic beat fed and nadal not once not twice not thrice , He beat them time and time again in those 2 periods.... History, present and future won't see a player go unbeaten for 43 matches, win back to back 7 titles including grand slam with the same energy and same intensity. Winning 3 slams of 2015 and playing the final of the 4th , winning 6 out of 9 masters 1000 titles and playing 8 finals out of those 9 , winning the nitto ATP finals ,16585 freaking points in a season .... I'd bet on my life no one I repeat no one can surpass Djokovic what he did in 2011 and 2015

Djokovic and especially Nadal are nearing the end of their careers and this virus thing happens. I still think Nadal and Djokovic will pass Federers slam record. Especially Djokovic. With the way things are going I'll be impressed as a Nadal fan if he manages to get two more slams and surpass Federer in slam earnings.

2012- 2014 was pretty strong with peak Murray, prime Djokovic, prime Nadal, prime Wawrinka(2013- 2014), prime Del Potro a very good Federer(2012, 2013 AO and 2014). All that being said, Djokovic missed out on several slams that he should have won(2013 FO, 2013 USO, 2014 FO and 2014 USO).
I will never forget that Sergio Takini jersey in white, for me the highest level of tennis the world has ever seen, the god of tennis.

No such game was seen, neither Feders nor Nadal could do anything to him, he lost to Federer in the Roland Garos semi-finals because he realized that he could tie all four Gren slams and because of that his concentration dropped, not the experience of beating Federer. , I would beat Nadal too.
For me Federer can't be a GOAT because he has a worse score against the biggest rivals, he won the top ten Grand Slams until Nadal and Djokovic played, when they appeared he was no longer so convincing, by chance ????

@@bakimc4722 how? Nadal and Federer can win on all surfaces too. Prime Nadal has beaten prime Djokovic and prime Federer in a hard court GS final like US open and AO. Even at WIM he beat prime Federer. However, Djokovic and Federer couldn't beat prime Nadal in a RG final on clay. That's the difference. Federer benefitted in 2004-2007 due to Nadal being a teenager and Djokovic benefitted from 2015-2016 due to Nadal being in the worst form of his career. Nadal didn't face a terrible version of Federer or Djokovic to win his AO 2009 title or WIM 2008 title or 2013 US open title. He beat them at their best. Djokovic and Federer benefitted from Nadal losing early in 2009 RG and Nadal injury in 2016 RG to win their lone RG titles which doesn't hold the same weight as Nadal GS finals wins over his biggest rivals at US or AO or even WIM finals. Even when Djokovic beat up the worst version of Nadal in 2015 RG, Djokovic still couldn't win RG title. So in best of 5 matches when all players are in their best prime form over all surfaces, Nadal would be the best player out of the trio.
Nadal never had a weak period when his biggest rival was out of form or injured. In 2004-2012, he faced prime Federer. In 2011-2016, he faced prime Djokovic.
