My NC700X feels like it can do 70-80 mph all day long. Relaxing for long rides since it's not revving like a sport bike. Weight is down low which matters to me more as I get older. Checked the mileage once & got 70 mpg.
Thank you for posting this. I really enjoyed the informative review. These are the two bikes that I've narrowed the next one down to. Probably newer ones but I'm currently leaning towards the NC750. Once I can find one.
17" tires are always readily available no matter where you are and the choices are 20x more .The NC does have a helmet lock under seat if you want to save the frunk which any smart person would ;) .
The NC700x was covered by you some months ago. So a lot of the information was repeated. Although since it was a comparison, i forgive you for a lot of repeated information. I still think you give the most informative reviews, and i do love your relaxed manner. So keep them coming, because i enjoy every one.
I like your videos...but the hyperbole in this statement gave me whiplash: "A lot of people look at those two bikes and think they're very similar, but it couldn't be further from the truth." Yes, actually, there are all kinds of ways this could be further from the truth. These two bikes are begging for comparison. They are different, but they overlap in all kinds of ways. /rant
You are right they are begging for comparison. I do miss my nc700x quite a bit more than the cb500x. I don't know why I didn't keep it as long, but i feel it was a much more brilliant and forward thinking bike than the CB. The CB is no slouch either.
Would love your opinion on this one - I currently ride a 700x and I'm thinking of downsizing to a 500x just for the off-road factor, since the NC is a behemoth off road, isn't easy to pick up and really isn't confidence inspiring. I did ride a friend's 2013 500X, it's lighter but feels like it's working hard once you get to 100 kph and above, unlike the NC which is very relaxed. Would a downgrade to a 500x be that big of a difference when riding on dirt?
I researched the cb500x for a year and watched every video on it and when I went to ther dealer they had a nc700x leftover that was marked down quite a bit. I bought the NC thinking it was a bigger and better version of the cb. It is definitely not. It really feels like a scooter and im not super impressed with the power. I do appreciate the efficiency but I regret not getting the 500.
@@bensmith8125 You're putting too much emphasis on displacement. It's just a number when a different engine design, and it was the whole point to make less power from the higher displacement for longevity and reliability.
400 horse power in a truck just makes a powerful truck with a peppy attitude, 400 hp in a coupe makes race car. "Light" adventure bikes are like buying a heavy suv
CB 500x has 19" front nowadays. Also RallyRaid kit to make it a genuine ADV bike. Talking about the service and that stuff is secondary to the off road abilities.
I very much appreciate your video and thoughts on these two bikes. Very informative, My thinking has gone from which one do I want, to which one do I want first!!! :)
Are you serious the cb has better quality riding? The nc is funking stable from 0 to the end like few bikes. The cb over 140 is full vibrations like the vstrom also. The low center gravity on nc makes it much better in cornering especially cause the cb is taller and wears on off tyres.
I have a 2012 NC700X Honda for sale. Runs like new, recent service, new tires/chain/battery. Has a windscreen. 18,000 miles. 65-70mpg. Listed for $3500. Obo.
@@VehicleHunter Just started selling it. Got some cash and decided to get a NC750X. Dealer only offered me $2500 so I thought I'd try and sell it outright. I'm in Illinois. For now. Where are you?
@@timjohnson1199 I am in Maryland. Ive always been curious about the nc750x, but those are rare around here. You are right, you will definatly make more selling it privately. I've noticed a uptick of thieves targeting sellers on fb and craigslist. Friend had a bike stolen, and the same thief tried to steal one of my bikes through fb marketplace. Meet in a police station if you can.
You make it sound like the cb out performs the nc but I don’t believe that is true? The nc is supposedly Honda’s biggest selling model in Europe. Also you called the motor scooter like but wouldn’t it be more correct to compare it to a cruiser engine?
Those are good points. The NC i think is very scooter like more than a cruiser. Generally i think of cruisers are more torquey and slow. I'm riding a sh150i now a scooter, and it is more like the nc. (an exegerattion) But i think scooter like but not as an insult. The NC is smooth, almost too smooth which makes it a great bike.
Did you say "Quirkiness"? That word means behavior that is unusual, unexpected, peculiar. Those are not words that make me feel comfortable on a motorcycle.
I’m on the fence between a 2023 CBR500r & the NC750x since they both have the same electronic assists like ABS & traction control but since I’m tall, I’m leaning more toward the NC since it’s a bigger bike & I’m thinking it would also be less appealing to thieves since it miming the African Twin more or a more boring bike but that’s what I’m looking for. 😂

So probably 80+ mpg UK

I agree with you in every word! I own a NC750X DCT, Greetings from Mexico
The NC is more like car. It's a practical, safe choice. Helps that it's made up of half a car engine.
The whole 'car engine' thing is an urban myth 😏

DC to Cali is quite a trip.
Great comparison video, as a lot of people cross shop these two bikes. I miss my CB500X.
Great review and comparison. Very helpful. Thank you.
Very useful review, thanks.

Yes- bmw gas on rear is far easier. Like to see comparison of f800r to nc750. Bu still; te dct is a plus

My 700 is plenty quick
@@NCMEDIC216 compared to other 700s an even smaller displacement bikes it's slow.

Just out of curiosity have you had problems selling it? I see these nc700x's in the market for a very long time. Where are you located?

That was very informative and well thought out! Kudos, young man!!
Can't you turn off abs on the Africa twin?
Need more leg romon cb for tall pesons. Or taller seat
Scooter engine is lower revving??? Hardly! My Yamaha Morphous rpm are sky high. Because it is a 250 single.

USA pricing is way off asia resell prices
Where you saw those prices lol
I am building a NC700 with upgraded front and rear suspension on my channel
I saw a nc700x for sale a while ago with a 21inch front wheel. Good job. Subbed.

Full size is not 2xl, 3xl helmet
Not far from bmw prices for gs750
I prefer the cb500x to the nc700
