I have the ctx700 with the same engine as the NC. It is a very different engine and I am in love with it. Very little vibration, very quiet which is important to me, and the low end grunt is awesome. You have to change your riding style because your first ride you will immediately be shocked when you bounce the rev limiter and it cuts out on you. However, when I ride with my buddies who have harleys the ctx can keep up or even out pace them in many cases. The one thing I wish this setup had was shaft drive. Everything is so smooth that I hear my chain over everything else. I was considering adding a NC or CB since the ctx is a little cramped for a 6ft guy. I got that bike because it was easier for my wife to get on so we could ride together but I find myself solo about 80% of the time so I wouldn't mind a more upright taller position. However with talks of a smaller africa twin on the way I think I will hold out and see what comes of that.
A lower center of gravity makes a massive difference. My dad rides a CRF450X and I ride a CRF250F, those bikes are within about 20lbs of each other, but the 450 being much higher on center of gravity means it feels almost double as heavy as the 250. That alone makes me consider the NC over a CB500X.
I'm use to riding my gsx-r 600 and a friend of mine just bought a NC 750x and he brought it over yesterday and I rode it and honestly I was surprised at the power. It has good power and it handles good and is way more comfortable than the gsx-r. I dont know why people shit on this bike its a good one lol.

A ton of what you said was straight up not true. The CB gets better gas mileage, the CB is lighter, the CB has better power AND low speed torque. The CB500x is the better bike in almost every category. Power, Range, Fuel Economy, Off-road, and Weight. Plus the aftermarket like rally raid puts the cb far above the nc in customizability as well. Neither bike is “terrible” on the highway. I’m still not sure why you keep saying the CB is wider. It’s not even close. The NC is far wider. I think you rode an old cb and a new nc. They changed the seat profile greatly. How much more commanding do you want then 830mm seat height??? A dirt bike?? The NC700x is slower, wider, and heavier CB500x.
Motard Squid my cb500x will do the speed listed just fine... how much do you weigh? I only weigh 165. That info is straight from the manufacturer and I also have ridden both extensively. If you’re a heavier rider that would explain a bit. The 700x would handle load better then the cb. Also if you have a lot of gear.
Don't get too invested in having your feelings attached to a bike. Watch my previous videos on the cb500x, my cb500x barely even made it cross country. I would not buy one again.
I enjoyed your video except I wanted to add one thing. My NC700X 2012 did great on the highway going cross country and back (8,000 miles). Because I was packed with gear, it weight down the bike. Because of that extra weight the wind was not an issue even at speeds of 90mph. If my bike was Barebones I would agree with you. But the extra weight is what made the difference (and used up more fuel 😁).
CBX (2019) is a bit different, was yours 2019? I get over 80mph regularly. The NC700 replaced the Honda Deauville NT700, which was a mid range shaft drive and bullet proof, big mistake Honda. I think you are right about the NC being good commuter, but the CBX more fun. Thanks from quarantined UK...
I heard you guys can't leave the house. It's not gotten to that here in the U.S. I had 2 cb500x's, both were 2015's i think. I've had so many bikes i forget the years lol
@@motardsquid There are a lot of small differences but the main thing is that you have the feeling of a much more smaller, lighter bike with more performance but an increase of comfort.
Hello! How’d you compare the two for light off roading/ gravel etc! We don’t get the DCT version in NZ. So ⚙️ wise it’s not a comparison here. Just trying to figure out for touring, light off road, what’d be better? Thank you
Good question! I'd avoid the DCT just because it weights more and is more complex. The NC isn't as popular as the CB. I've seen the CB get a large aftermarket for offroading as a mini africa twin. So I would probably go with the new CB500 with the 19inch front wheel. The 19inch front will help alot off road.
This video is full with false information lmao. I mean if you lie about the tank of the nc700 being bigger and the mileage being much better when it just isnt at all? Etc. Jeez im starting to get the idea you never had a cb500x since you talk so much nonsense
Hard to say, i like the NC because i think it's unique. But i rode the cb500x and its a better bike for enthusiasts as it tends to act more like a motorcycle. I like the NC because of the design. The new CB500 has a 19inch wheel which is better for adv

Just sold a vfr800 for my new nc 700x.
Love the comfort, mpg , handling and the styling.

My points were based on having 2 cb500's. And riding a cb500x cross country, and owning a nc700x.
BTW, those top speeds are inacurate. The top speed of a cb500x is only 95. Check out my other videos showing that. :)

The only way the cb500x will do that speed is if you drop it off the empire state building.

Yeah i wish i kept the nc700x more. It was brilliant.
That was a very confusing vid.
this is what i've been wanting to find out...thanks
I never would become the Idea a NC 700 is the same than the CB 500.
And no I don't mistake the GS 310 with the GT 16000i
A comparison between a 310 and 1600 would be tough. But cb500x and nc700x are very similar in many ways.
Motard Squid not really
@@d3us3xmach1na5 Why not?

You should try the new model of the V-Strom. There is a positive difference to your old model. I think you would be amazed ;-)
What are the differences? I would definatly like to try it out.

Can't find the 700x in the UK, only the 750x?
Is there much difference?
no but the 750x is better in everyway, and more expensive too.
What do you exactly mean that the suspension is not good? Too low stiffness, bad damping characteristics?
It's lumpy, bumpy and sends you flying with ripples on the road. It might mean i need to adjust the suspension to my weight or gett better springs.

Mine is good on the highway with GIVI windscreen and hand guards
DL650 vs NC700X vs CB500x
Thanks
Which one has less vibration at the handle bars?
Both are pretty smooth, but i think the edge goes to the nc.
do they make the cb500x in a dct? cant find one anywhere
No they don't. But seems it mght be a good option. The cb500x is a budget bike so maybe they don't want to put that extra money into it.
You have 2 UA-cam channels??
Yeah i have vehicle hunter channel for more in depth reviews and this one is more of a moto vlogging channel
Cb500x or nc750x i have the cb 2021 which bike are better for touring ? Cruising? And eitch bike its better for back roads? And last nc manual or dct?

NC = city commuting, CB = everything else
Can you Dark Side the NC700?
