Upper Refuse 5.5 is one of Cathedral Ledge's classic easy pitches and recommended as a first trad climb despite the ridiculous runouts. It tops out at the foot of the tourist overlook so you'll feel like a hero and have a great time answering curious questions as you speedily rack up and coil your rope to get the heck out of there.
Nicely done. I’ve guided that route over 200 times and it was always just so fun! (And there’s a hidden hold that makes getting past the pine tree at the top sssooooo much easier, but you toughed it out.) Well done!
Great effort! I encourage you not to clip your alpines to the thumb loop of your cams, as you do on your third placement. If you fall, it can tear the plastic sheathing, exposing the swaged wires underneath.

thank you for watching! Nothing like 5 feet of slab at the top of 100 feet of climbing to stop you in your tracks hahah

Thanks for posting this! I’m doing this tomorrow, and this is one of the only videos that isn’t a decade old - your video came just in time

Yeah I usually don't do that it was a lapse of judgment. Thank you for the tip!
