Hi James, I do enjoy the projects you share with us. Thanks so much. Although this project is a couple years old, I have most all of your videos. I must tell you that I have watch the series on this table 10+ times as I have compared and contrasted the torsion style to many others for my latest assembly table. I decided to go with the torsion style you showed in the end. Just finished it this weekend. My is nowhere near as loaded as yours, but I'm in a much smaller shop and that brought on some special challenges. In the end, I think I will enjoy this one for years to come. Thanks again!
I loved this build. I also found your daughters very talented and very careful at everything they do. You a very blessed man and enjoy this lots. Building such a nice work table also speaks lots about your building in général. As customer if i walked into your shop i would not question quality and that cant be a bad thing.
Great video and the final product is just beautiful. Wish I had an Army of helpers. It's what I imagine it would be like to be in Santa's shop and watching him directing all of his elves. ;) Wonderful video, you have amazing daughters. thank you!
very thorough build, watched all 4 episodes. Fantastic results and I did learn alot - blind dove tail drawers- I have the exact same porter cable jig you show. Thank you for taking time to explain each step. Man with that kind of help around the shop you can take on much larger projects vs working alone. I found the process about making the top flat very interesting- using boat building technique. Your helpers are becoming highly skilled wood workers with a great instructor to teach them the techniques.
I have never seen a more beautiful assembly table, you sir are a master craftsman. I will be buying the plans when my shop is finished being built, keep up the amazing workmanship James. Your videos are by far the most informative and more importantly, engaging, I am totally hooked and for that I thank you.
Really enjoyed all these videos on building this extreme torsion box! Thank you for sharing. I learned a ton and can't wait to build my own! Thanks again!
You are a great teachers and well thought out explanation of all the steps. I have been in manufacturing of RVs for many years. in years gone by say the 50s and 60s we made real cabinets not just paneling and plastic film wrapped cabinet faces. Like your youngest daughter I started very young. Its a great skill that no one can take away from you. It is art in wood and you are a master. Thank You
Dear James, How refreshing it is to see women doing what was once a predominantly man's sphere. To see them turning ( & with great skill I may add), routing & beyond, drilling & fastening stuff together. I admire parents whose bonds & relationships with their children is such that there is a closeness that one seldom sees anymore. Your work table is exceedingly well built, well executed & finished thanks to your skilled & dedicated family team. One wonders what other awesomeness will rise from this table. very well done to you all. Kind regards.
Dear James, Thank you very much for your courteous & hearted reply. I do concur with your good self; you are indeed a very blessed man to have children who share your passion. The King's tradition shall live on. Kind regards.
I've watched this table build series at least 5 times now and can't get over how easy you make it look. This table is epic. I just wish I had the space for something like this.
James...you and the girls did an awesome job! That wood combination just turned out beautiful! 👏👏 And, your wife did an outstanding job with the camera! Thank you for sharing!
Hands down the most informative instructional video I have watched! I may not be able to build such a beauty but there were countless tips in this series that are going to help me every day in my shop. Great Job King Family!!!
Thanks James (and family), another quality video(s). You all do some amazing work. You have a beautiful family and are very lucky to spend quality time together in the shop.
Fantastic build series. What a great workbench for the shop. This will definitely last a lifetime for you and your daughters to continue to make beautiful furniture. I've learned so much from your videos and enjoy every one. Thanks.
James, a wonderful video. I have a 4 x 8 table saw table with a router lift setup at the other end, but I need to upgrade both the saw and table, and I probably will purchase a router table. Bottom line, I am thinking about making your assembly table and torsion box. You and your family do amazing work. Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing the entire build. It was a pleasure to watch your entire family work together so well on this project as they always do. That's a beautiful table in the end.
WOW that was amazing and look like that also!! Funny your girls are a better carpenters then i am and i'm 60 years old. I like all your videos and the voice over you do it's great. I went to buy some wood glue and they said you had just been into the store and bought it all up!! LOL
That's simply awesome. The level of detail and the efforts put in to make something utilitarian into an heirloom like piece is just too much. Congratulations to all of you
"If you made it all the way to this point thank you verry mutch." No thank you verry mutch. Wish it would go on. Love you UA-cam Channel. Greetings from Holland.
Such a beautiful workbench and so lovely that you have built it with your 2 talented daughters. I'm quite new to woodworking and hadn't thought to use my plunge router to do perfectly 90 degree holes - awesome tip. :-)
The thing I like about this design is the customizability. I prefer to use longer screws when mounting T-Track because I've pulled T-Track up before. But with your design, I can just add blocking underneath the path of the T-Track...nice
Amazing workmanship James and family. Love that you all work together on this project also enjoyed your explanations for your processes thank you for your time and effort.
Too bad I recently discovered this channel. I have built an assembly table that works but I needed to build another table as outfeed for my homemade tablesaw. If I did something like this, I wouldn't have to and get my space back. I've a pretty small workplace so probably end up rebuilding some stuff. I like your explanations and calm voice. Keep up the good work!
hey james this was awesome ...well documented clear instructions .....there isnt a lot of 30 + min videos ill watch but seriously i will make popcorn and watch these videos i only wish i had the space and equipment to attempt these incredible pieces you produce .....please keep these coming
Awesome work guys and gals. Alot of details and great ideas. I came across this after searching out table saw outfeed tables and watched you build your sled. All great ideas. Cheers mate. 😎🍻
Very, Very nice Bench, Just awesome something to be very proud of for a life time. Thanks for sharing your build King Family. You have found yourself a new subscriber.
Outstanding table James. I can't help but run numbers in my head in regards to what this could be sold for. With the materials you used plus the labor you and your "crew" put in I keep coming up with a $10,000.00 minimum figure.
Again, that assembly table/work bench is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing it with us woodworking mortals. Makes me feel like a reel "mud-blood". (And also a bit jealous).
James This is a very impressive project. You have taught your girls well, They are indeed fine craftsperson's and they show their care and skill at the trade. You can be proud. I had three girls who also became skillful in woodworking. Thanks so much for the videos. John in Pensacola
Instead of the guide board on the end you could have chalk lined the path for the dog holes and put a witness mark on the far end of your jig. Either way, beautiful work man. And it's awesome that you involve your family, they're learning very valuable skills thanks to you.
Excellent 4 part video, thoroughly enjoyed it and am now feeling inspired and looking forward to building my own bench and incorporating some of your techniques.
I use paste wax on my bandsaw table and jointer/planer to assist with the wood sliding over - it seems to help keep the rust down as well. I just reapply every so often just like you. Love this table.
I just bought the plans and can't wait to get started making this. Unfortunately big leaf maple is not in the budget. Your table is amazing! Thank you for showing how its done.
I have just finished watching all 4 parts, This is not a work bench this is a piece of ART. I am a novice woodworker so please could you explain or demonstrate ALL the features one by one, even the ones you think are inconsequential. Keep in mind I am a complete novice to woodwork but I am trying to get started. Like how do the holes work on the top and on the sides. Why are the tracks there and how do you use them? A video showing what is a torsion table is and why is it so integral in wood working would be so cool I know there are a lot of beginners getting started that would love to see a video on how the table all works?
absolutely love this torsion bench one of the best I have seen and will be using a lot of the info in my own bench when I make one , love the detail in the video as well thanks
Beautiful build James! I really like the purple heart wood and the way you used it. I wish I had room for this table in my shop, but perhaps I'll get a bigger shop down the road. Love what you do my friend.
Hi Dennis. Thank you so much! There are many ways to spell their names, (I am not criticizing, I am delighted that you did) but we spell them as Maya and Sai. Thank you very much for watching. :-) ~James
Awesome build series, I learnt so much. Well done to you and your team and thanks for sharing it with us. It truly is a magnificent work bench and beautifully made.
Thank you sir, looks amazing. I just hope once again the FAA looks into this build for ideas on future runways. looking forward to the next build, and if that Assembly Table just happens to just up and leave please do not look my way. LOL.
Haha. Thank you! I would chain it down so it doesn't disappear in the night, but it is so heavy that if someone can manage to steal it, they've earned it, haha.
What a great build series and a really solid assembly table too. I think the only way you could make this better would be to have a replaceable top for when you eventually get the top dinged up to a point where you can flatten it again you can simply replace the top 3/4" sheet of plywood with a fresh one. I would think you could get away without fixing it in at all and let gravity and suction keep it in place? Is there a reason you didn't make the top replaceable?
You are a very talented craftsmen, wish you were closer to me, I would love to have you & your family build me a few things I need for my bookbinding hobby.
Watched all 4 parts and that's a classy bench I've seen poorer made coffee tables ,respect to the ladies for doing most of the work .
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WORKBENCH IN THE WORLD

that is one awesome build. Kudos to you for giving your kids real life skills, something sorely missing from most of today's generation.

Defiantly the best work bench on you tube and probably the world. Thanks Kings team. Well done.
Hi Matt. Thank you!

Haha. Thanks J.P.! You are too kind.
Never miss any of your project!
Terrific project James (and your fine family of help).
thank you James and the girls . yup work of art .

Without a doubt the nicest, most amazing assembly table known to humans. Amazing job King family!!!
Thank you very much. It was kind of you to speak on behalf of the humans. :-)
No doubt, absolutely beautiful. What would the cost run with just shearer hard wood? I'm super curious.
Very well designed table. It looks like it is worth every second it took to plan and build.
Thanks for sharing the entire build. It was a pleasure to watch your entire family work together so well on this project as they always do. That's a beautiful table in the end.
Thank you very much!

That's simply awesome. The level of detail and the efforts put in to make something utilitarian into an heirloom like piece is just too much. Congratulations to all of you

Haha. If somebody offered me $10,000 I'd sell it. I've certainly sold furniture for that but never shop furniture, Haha.
Perfect explanations and it is the most BEAUTIFUL work table and that big FAMILY, especially the girl who looks out and smiles SALUDOS DESDE MÉXICO
What a Beautiful table. Great job King family!!
Amazing build series, James. You again taught me a lot of different techniques.
Thank You Sensei.
Hi Felix. Thank you so much!
What a work of art. Beautiful
Thank you. You’re very kind.
Absolutely the most amazing beautiful work table I have ever seen, the kids and yourself should be very proud. Great job!! Thanks for sharing!!

Hi John, thank you very much!
You are one of the best woodworkers I've ever seen , keep that hard work , love ur videos❤
That is very kind. Thank you!
He definitely gives that norm guy I grew up with on PBS a run for his money!!
Instead of the guide board on the end you could have chalk lined the path for the dog holes and put a witness mark on the far end of your jig. Either way, beautiful work man. And it's awesome that you involve your family, they're learning very valuable skills thanks to you.
James's method is far more accurate.
Excellent 4 part video, thoroughly enjoyed it and am now feeling inspired and looking forward to building my own bench and incorporating some of your techniques.

Amazing, im so anxious to get mine underway!!!
Awesome! Send some pictures.
Awesome build series, I learnt so much. Well done to you and your team and thanks for sharing it with us. It truly is a magnificent work bench and beautifully made.
Thank you so much, Phil!
Awesome James, that is one lovely beast of an assembly table!!
Thank you so much!
I think you need to re name it the Rolls Royce of Assembly tables. I have not seen a better version. :D
Haha, Thank you!
Well done James keep it up
joe mccarthy, thank you!
Thank you. Your videos are very informational. I have learned a lot. Someday I will build my own.
Hi Eddie. Thank you!
I wish, i had room for such a beast.
Perhaps one day you will.
Thank you sir,
looks amazing.
Beautiful! I love the Purple Heart accents.
Thank you!
Very clear narration. Thanks.
Thank you!
Great job well done team.. Very nice work and great instruction video
absolutely brilliant. best one i've seen ever
Hi Tom. Thank you!
You must have been a ship builder in a past life. Lol very good.
The only bad part of this 4 part build is it’s over and now I have to wait for your next video.
Hi Jared. In that case, I will hurry to make the next one. Thank you for watching our videos!
That is one beautiful workbench!
Thank you! I really appreciate it.
Great work everyone. By the way thank you for the awesome mallet ! Love it!!
Tom
Thank you! And you are very welcome.
That's a geart job,. All the best out of good old Germany. Tom
Hi Thomas. Thank you!
You are the hero. I learned a lot. thanks.
Thank you!
Would love to see more exotic wood project
I will purchase them now thanks you regards Colin
You are a very talented craftsmen, wish you were closer to me, I would love to have you & your family build me a few things I need for my bookbinding hobby.
BOOKBINDING! That is very cool. We do custom pieces all the time and send them all over the world. We should message sometime and talk about a trade.
I think I will message you, introduce myself and give you a brief description of what I am after...
