As a 58 year old professional who was just laid off, I cannot recommend this enough. I have a lifetime of accomplishments, positive feedback, quantifiable results, and kudos from colleagues. I can't tell you how much I regret not having taken the time to capture this information into somekind of centralized place. Please take her advice🙏
Don’t know how this ended up on my main page but I am glad it did. It is the first time I have heard of it and I think it is a great idea! Thanks for sharing it!
I'm back in school right now and I'm keeping a bullet journal to remember everything, including "post mortem" of all the school projects I'm doing, which I think relates well to this career journal (what I did, what I wanted to do but didn't have time, my feelings overall and about my grade, etc.). I'll definitely have to keep track of the submissions and interviews eventually, so I'll bookmark this video to come back to it!
I wish I saw this video days ago. I was hired on 7/26 and was let go 9/11. I have a phone interview with the Union to ask me in full details what had taken place for me to being let go. A journal would have help me refresh my memory of daily encounter with unfair treatment at the work place.
sorry to hear you're going through a rough time. It sounds like a toxic workplace, maybe it's kind of a blessing in disguise and something better is just around the corner
Kokomo23love - I'm so sorry to hear you've lost your job. I've been there, and it's the worst. I'll be praying you land the job you're meant to be in. Don't give up, and yes, document everything.
@@kokomo23love you are most welcome. Outside of documenting things at work, I also have been journaling as a way to relieve stress and anxiety. Writing down your thoughts and feelings can be therapeutic. You might give that a go as well. Blessings!
This is a really good idea. I know I struggle with talking about myself and my skills at interviews. I think I’ll be starting a career journal very soon 😊
this is such a good idea. im currently in need of a change and considering going back to university to do a masters so this could definitely be helpful
and keep track of your BookTube (I used mine to get my current job, and I also gave several lectures on booktube at Librarian conferences). Don't disrespect your hard work, it counts!
I actually thought to myself a couple of days ago that I should keep a spreadsheet with my job applications and interview experiences and today I saw your video! That's such a good and unique advice, thank you for the video!

I'm really sorry this happened to you. I hope things work out soon and you are appreciated where you go. Thank you for taking the time to comment
Personally, I have a work journal to write all my problems and how I found their solution
I really like this! There's something empowering in it too. Like you DID that!

And track down for yourself how you feel about things too, because that's a good sense of your day-by-day and your true/honest opinions of a place

This video is top notch. Wauw, I will rewatch it and take notes. This is genuine career advice, not the cliché tips I have seen on UA-cam ❤
Thank you, that's really good to hear!
Very helpful tips
