what blows my mind other than the general skills etc, is how the blues shred solo makes you think 'ok, that sounds inspired by the Malmsteen's Live in Leningrad blues solo....only to find out that this was recorded BEFORE the Live in Leningrad show. Decidedly a great guitarist who is one of the best metal guitarists ever.
@@jasonsargent5030 this must have been the best time ever, I saw yngwie for the first after alcatrazz here at the country club in 1984! Also the Sunset strip clubs were the great times! Cheers

My uncle gave some old guitar player magazine's; I had the Paul Gilbert and Yngwie Malmsteen issues. i used to see the ads for shrapnel records behind the cover, i downloaded some songs off of kazaa and they blew my teenage mind away. from that day forward i knew i had to shred!! Yep. And yes, it do sound like the ADA MP-1. Have you heard of Brandon Ellis? Gtr player for Black Dahlia Murder? Whenever he plays with the MP-1, on his Instagram account, he sounds so much like Bruce. Still gonna have one of those.
I have great memories of Chuck Landis' Country Club in the 80s. One time the popular band (locally popular at the time), Warrant, opened up for Racer X there. I liked hearing Bruce Bouillet's guitar solo during "Scarified." I don't know how he & Paul Gilbert could play such an outrageous song live, and pick all those notes, but they did! 🎸
I did get to see bruce play with Paul at g3. When Paul was doing his get out of my yard record. I never really followed bruce, does he have solo stuff? Vinnie Moore is my favorite player along with Tony macalpine. It is crazy though I see a lot of shred videos, virtuoso videos that always seem to forget them. Even though they were out right after yngwie. Yngwie, paul, Steve vai, satriani get mentioned a lot. IMO t-mac and the Vin man are the best. And they've each put out so many songs and records of in different styles incorporating different genres. Steve Morse is great too.
@@mikem4162 Hi Mike! Yeah I’m crazy about T-Mac and Vinnie Moore too :) You should check out Bruce Bouillet’s solo album, “The Order of Control”, it’s truly amazing!!
I actually discovered Bruce through The Scream -- the band he had with ex Motley Crue singer John Corabi. They put out this one album on Hollywood Records called Let It Scream. That was a great album start to finish, but unfortunately was The Scream's only musical output. Would've loved to hear more material from them.
John Corabi founded *_The Scream_* with Bruce, Juan Alderete, and Scott Travis. He left to join Mötley Crüe. So, he wasn't ex-Crüe when he was in *_The Scream._*

He developed tendinitis. But there's one accomplishment he can be proud of: winning a Grammy for producing and recording Motorhead doing "Whiplash" in 2005.
You'll know his sweep speed, scale twisting, string skipping only when you nearly learn and play. I've learnt this and played over the years n now but it still doesn't match the same as his but good to learn n used in solo playing... He is great, play then only you'll know.

I was there center balcony. Warrant opened the show, so I was interested to hear a band that had just been "signed". Warrant was god awful. The music business is cruel in that Warrant made more money the Racer did. Bruce (inspired and fueled by PG) was an inspiring player back then. It was sad when PG left for Mr Big, but it had to happen.
I remember when Warrant was on stage, with brand new equipment, celebrating their record signing. They didn't have half the talent of Racer X, and I thought they were arrogant.
Best comment I’ve heard about Racer X
“If you were into
Yngwie’s style … Racer X was your crack”
One of the most underrated guitar players of all time, one of my faves! 💯🔥
Totally agree with you Kenneth. Check out “SFV” from Bruce on my channel as well. Thanks for watching, and getting the word out on BB!
He’s sadly overlooked. And can still play. Never could understand why band or solo artists didn’t get him

That’s an interesting point! I’ll go back and listen to that Yngwie solo. 🤔
Anybody else think this is literally the best they ever heard Bruce sound?
Yeah, it’s really up
there towards the top for sure!
Personally I like Bruce's solo in the extreme volume album! It's better constructed. This version also kicks ass.
No. Listen to PG's stint in G3. Scit Scat Wah. Bruce's solo there is mesmerizing.
I'd put Bruce and Ron Jarzombek in the same category of " why the heck are they not HUGE and more well known"? Both so freaking talented.
A true guitar master and guitar God.

How did bruce get that tone? It sounds like theres some modulation mixed in with distortion, like a choruse effect
Pretty sure no chorus actually. Probably just nice reverb and subtle delay in addition to the ADA/Ampeg set up.
Indeed, if I’m not wrong, he used an ADA MP 1 preamp, which included some modulations
