Story 1- The manager was ABSOLUTELY unprofessional. In every argument, fight or conflict, you ALWAYS have to check the security cameras to see who started all this. It's as if a client breaks an item, blames the employee and the employee has to take care of the damages. The OP should report the manager, because if she behaves and handles situations like this, I don't want to imagine when there is violence or more serious problems.
With my team lead I got off I was grabbing some chips for my mom and I heard a phone ringing found it was a left phone I answered and told who was on the phone where it was I finished my shopping and was going to pay at self check out I saw a lady talking to one of my team leads. I realize it was about the phone because the lady also left a purse when my team lead saw it was me who turned it in she said something on the lines of saying that I wouldn’t of been one to take it I ended up helping the lady by taking her to where I found the phone This is how team leads and managers should act
People who go into stores, see the line and the clearly overworked staff and then decide to yell at them for having to wait make me so upset. Like, last time I checked people have two arms, not eight, what are we supposed to do, go turn into octopus just to serve them?
Not agreeing with the old geezer, but from the story it was not busy. OP said besides the old geezer and the two ladies the were no other customers. And if I'm honest I also get a bit annoyed when I see employees do nothing while having to wait. I don't yell or get disrespectful but it does bug me a bit. (I blame management for this stuff and not the employees). For him starting to yell and argue is of course insane.
@@ralfvandeven3155 I mean, there's not much an employee can do while waiting for another associate... They have to tell the associate what they called them for.
I'm more pissed at the shop owners that don't hire enough staff when they only have 2 available cashiers for the 8 or more cash registers in the store for most days including times when the store's overcrowded.
The first story reminds me of when i used to work for a grocery store back in the Deli department. Our store manager was well known for giving a customer whatever they wanted, no matter how rediculous the request was. People heard about this and would often take advantage of this knowledge, and he honestly didnt care how it effected us. Our hours were dependent on our weeely sales and every time he did this, it hurt our sales which meant less hours to go around for the entire deparment. It was no wonder that when the store went under new ownership he was one of the first to be let go.
Last story: I really don't think the boyfriend was necessarily lying. It's clear that he was never 100% in agreeance about moving away with the op when the time came. Yes he has agreed that it would help his career, but just cause he's agreed on that front doesn't exactly mean he was 100% on-board with the idea. Now that he's further along in life he's realized he's not okay with moving away. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, yeah it's sad for the OP, but she should just move on if that's gonna be the case.
Last Story: honestly the relationship is already done. OP should just go to the art school and hope she does not regret leaving her country and boyfriend. If she goes, the relationship is over because she cannot handle a long-distance relationship. If she stays, she will become resentful, ruining the relationship. Honestly, either of them should have dropped the relationship when they learned how they saw the town. Obviously, if OP wants to leave due to feeling restrained, she will never work out with someone who wants to settle in that town. That said, no one is a jerk in this situation. The boyfriend did not lie. He sounded like he *wants* to go but he is *afraid* to because of being homesick. His saying for her to stay is not controlling, ironically, he must have come to the realization the relationship is over and is going over the stages of grief which include bargaining. This is just an unfortunate case of a relationship reaching it's end due to the people involved having two very different planned paths.
I worked at the home depot for 4 years, the number one rule there that management like to push HARD is customer service no matter what, the employees are lower then the wooden pallets.
The first story completely pissed me off and if I was OP I wouldn't have accepted the write-up and I would have quit right there on the spot! I worked in customer service for 16 years and this is the type of BS you had to deal with on a regular basis, especially with entitled folks that want to be waited on hand and foot like you're their servant but once I got out of it I never went back.
I would have laid into that manager who gave the a-hole customer 90% his purchase. Their money isn't worth the hostile environment they make. He should have been banned from the store, not appeased.
Story 1: Who's the biggest jerk here? The manager Jamie, hands down. That old grumpy customer was certainly bad, and was clearly just trying to cause a scene to get a discount on his stuff, and really should've been kicked out the moment he started screaming at Darcy and waving his cane at him and the women, but the fact that that manager Jamie gave that jerk 90% off with no hesitation, and then proceeded to not listen to the OP and Darcy and then write them up over it, just shows that Jamie is a slum boss in a very high degree. I'm really surprised the both the OP and Darcy didn't walk out right on the spot over this, especially Darcy. Screw both the old fart customer and manager Jamie. Story 2: I dont know about the laws in the UK, but if they fire you in North America for being injured, you can sue them big time. The management here, and the union representative are super jerks here. A big reason why a lot of people don't like unions anymore. I dont know what their deal with was the OP, but something tells me somebody has something against the OP here and were using the injury against them. Story 3: The OP should've just left during the night here. That Amy girl is just cuckoo. Now, I get wanting someone to respect your religion and/or whatever beliefs you have, but to then say they wont accept you if you don't convert... i would've ran right then and there. Amy seems to get ghosted all the time..... yeah, i wonder why. She definitely has some issues, not to mention her dog as well. Glad the OP got away from her. Story 4: The bf is either lying or is very hesitant of moving... im honestly unsure if he's really a jerk or not here. If i were the OP, id still go to this art school, wherever it is, and still try to make something work with the bf, but if not, then its probably best to take a break from that relationship.
Why didn't the cashier call someone from plumbing instead and save everyone the headache?? Some people cannot be reasoned with. And that manager smh wow
On top of losing about 97% of brain cells (yes I work in retail and my assistant store manager is a f*cking idiot) all because I have ASD and need my earbuds to deal with loud areas
It's frustrating to hear stories about entitled customers who feel they deserve special treatment or discounts simply because they feel inconvenienced. The reality is that employees are doing their best to provide quality service to everyone, and it's important for customers to be patient and respectful. This story serves as a reminder that we should treat others the way we want to be treated and be grateful for the help we receive.
I have worked retail and in the restaurant industries to know that the customer is not always right and whoever believes the customer is always right needs to understand that is dumb
Last story: those people have incompatible life goals. That relationship won't work long term. It's sad, but one person will end up resenting the other. The boyfriend wasn't necessarily lying, he was just young and lacked insight. It seemed logical even though it wasn't what he wanted emotionally.
If I was the manager instead of Jamie, I’d have told that entitled old man “dude, if you don’t stop yelling I’m going to charge you double for all your items”
Old people have anger control issues. And as their cognitive ability declines, the fotget proper behavior. In nursing homes, old people often hit, kick and bite because of regression of mental capabilities. Just wait until your parents get to that age
It depends on the person and what medical conditions they have. Someone with conditions like Alzheimer's Disease certainly can act like that. The nicest people can become very horrible as it changes their personality due to different parts of their brains shutting down. Long term memory is usually the last to go. For those without such debilitating medical conditions, it's not uncommon for nice people to become even more mellow as they age. I've worked with many people with disabilities and older adults which most were nice despite their challenges. They usually have wonderful stories to tell and I enjoyed working with them.
From the sounds of it OP and Darcy should have pressed charges of harassment on the old man between the pro help desk association and descriptions from the event from the old ladies as well as camera footage wouldn't be to hard to prove. And then they could have gotten some just as well as sued the store for being a party to the harassment
story 4 - I absolutely hate people who agreed with your plan even though they knew they would not go through it. They agreed just to appear nice (because it is all about themselves) only to come up with stupid excuses at the last minute, which totally upset my plans. I just cut such friendships cold turkey ... bye, block !!!
Couldnt you sue the home depot somehow for puttimg you nd darcey in that course, cuz they didnt check the cameras and you could prob win the case(im talkin bout srory 1 for clarification)

I lived in the Philippines, so due to the nature of our AsPins, I don't let my ChowChow out to interact with them because they were the reasons he got the ticks that caused his health problem when he was a pup in the first place.
wouldn't be surprised if that manager was docking the op and darcy's payment just to pay off those items that the entitled customer bought 90 percent off, if that was the case, I'd let corporate know of this extortion.
Story 1- that makes working at my place a lot better. I had an escalation call one day so I asked my supervisor to step in she did and I never heard that supervisor hit the roof before until that one day when the caller on the other end of the call called me stupid and an idiot. She ended pretty much yelling at the caller and telling that caller that I am the best of the best and they need to know their place or we will stop doing business with them.
At least here in the US we have the Family Medical Leave Act, and I'm so glad. 12 yrs ago I had appendicitis and had to have surgery. It also took me a few weeks to get my strength back. Without this law I would have become unemployed.
Story #1 - Despite how terrible of a manger Jamie is he actually taught how a decent manager should handle a situation where there employee is claimed to be caught in the middle of a negative interaction with a customer. Here is what I was taught : #1 - Learn both sides : Upon approaching the scene the manager should speak to both the customer and their employee to get both sides of the story. #2 - Find a way to verify which side is correct : Most stores nowadays have some kind of security system with cameras so the manager has to review to see who is lying and who is telling the truth. If the store for whatever reason doesn't have security cameras then speak to any potential witnesses that might be in the area to learn what happened. #3 - Act upon the information of who was telling the truth on not. If the employee is telling the truth then the manager needs to tell the customer to stop throwing a fit at least whether or not more action would need to be taken depends on the situation. If the customer is telling the truth the customer needs to be accommodated for this and the employee scolded for their actions.
The story about the first date, it honestly sounds like the guy is more upset about not having intimate relations with her than anything else and the last story sounds like he simply got cold feet.
I completely understand the home depot worker its so infuriating when that happens. I use to work as cashier at macys and i had this eldery man and his son and wife come to the store and buy a luggage, fast-word the eldery man son got angry over the fact that his dad won’t be getting the 40 to 50 off the luggage he wanted. So he started demanding that i call the manager and manager ended up giving this entitled prick the 40% to 50% off for the next day even thought the sale ended the next day. 😡
Other than asking for a 90% discount, the angry customer was in the right to be pissed off. If you’re on your way to help a customer, don’t take on other tasks/help other customers first.
Story 1- Jamie was taken in by a scammer. Is Jamie going to give in every time to a customer who yells a lot? I would make a bet that the angry customer was related to Jamie.
Last story. I'm sorry. but the other side of the story is not being heard here. I had a girlfriend that I was living with, suddenly wanted to get married right after attending my best friend's wedding. Boom. Just out of the blue, and there was nothing that I could say that would change her mind or make her happy... so I ended up saying yes just to make her happy. She broke up with me and kicked me out when she realized that I wasn't happy... or that realized that it wasn't going to happen. You've heard it before... about making compromises.............and doing exactly what she wants. I feel something similar has happened here.
If a lady i was dating just said out of nowere that i need to covert to a religion i am going to ask if she is joking and if she is serious i am leaveing
Its me ... or most of the manager who are spineless are either: Old dudes who believe the "costumers are always right" and every single costumer is a regular. Or Karens who seems to had a go at everyone employ below her and has to make them miserable from a power trip they had. If i was the owner, i would physically shove them out of the door and beat them up from their entitled attitude.
If your union rep is friends with the manager, find proof, whether it's Facebook pics or anything. Send them in to the union and make a complaint about your union rep sent to assist you was friends with the manager you had the meeting with where you needed assistance with which is a serious conflict of interest. Include a summary of the case and your appeal and that the union rep clearly didn't do their job.
I had severe flu for 2 weeks. It was so bad I ended up in the hospital. First day I called work to tell them and they said just have a doctor's note when you get back and we will let your leader know. 2 weeks go by and I'm bsck at work. Wasn't til the end of the week my leader tried to write me up about attendance and I told him what hr said. He said they dont take doctors notes anymore they just had a meeting about it a week ago. -.- I'm like are you serious. And he tried to be mad that I didn't say anything and I was like well hr said they will inform my leader. Hr tried to throw me under the bus. Complete bs.
If I were a manager I wouldn't fall for his BS and I would tell him to come down and I would question the other employees what happened most likely I would side with the employees and I don't care how much noise you make he's not getting one penny off
First off all Home Depot used to or still carries a wheel logo representing what they think is customer service. The story behind the wheel is that a customer was trying to return a wheel he claimed he bought at Home Depot. The return deck called for a manager the manager asked how much the customer paid and paid him the full amount. Home Depot does not carry car tires. Instead of supporting the team members, managers at Home Depot support gossip and firings. I was fired for not helping a customer with a machine load. However the camera showed he approached a different employee and the machines were out of battery. I was told went and changed the battery of our standing loader and helped the customer load the machine. I was however fired for not helping him out fast enough. But I was happy to leave and heard how the store dropped in customer reviews. See I was also a machine driving trainer and enabled help maintain the machines running instead of letting them run out of power and left in isles or let the batteries run dry.
i can believe waiting for an hour at home depot i had a storm door rh lock and needed a left. set me at customer service desk and waited so long i got my pocket knife out went to work and was able to reverse the lock . so i guess turned out to be a win and they lost 27 buck sale. for you diy people i had a german military pocket knife with an extra long can openner blade and was able to flip the piece inside the lock and turn it around
Well, that wouldn't happen in Germany because if the customer started screaming, they'd simply be thrown out Fuck it old man or not he would be back in the fresh air as quickly as he can no longer imagine
Ah yes, the last story and completely disregarding another person's side. Way to simp again. The guy never lied or was 100% into moving. The op even said that and how he always had doubts. I don't doubt they truly love eachother and don't wanna lose that. These people will not work out. Both have very different goals. It's not as simple as someone just moving to another country. The dude has justification on having doubts. If it were a different place within the country. I'd say the guy is being a bit unreasonable. But simple saying he's an idiot because of something largely life changing and won't be easy to back out of. Isn't the best opinion.
Please, don't blame the girl's religion for her attitude. It's the girl, not her religion to blame. In fact, Judaism does not EVER proselytise, it's the absolute opposite. The religion leaves the decision to the person without even suggesting conversion.
The customer was not completely entitled. They were forced to wait for someone that should have been there in a minute. And then others come in and get help from someone who was supposed to help him first, I don't see why everyone thinks he is complete garbage? He definitely went overboard with it, but he had a good reason to be frustrated with these workers, mainly Darcy.
I worked in customer service for about 10 years now... and yes the OP was wrong... he got frustrated with the guy and didn't treat him well... instead of say no I can't do it he was supposed to give reason and help.. I can't but let me get my Manger he left it open for the customer to suggest... tithe other guy was wrong he should have told the lady's I'm helping a customer right now let me address his issues then I'll get back to you but he stop and went to the lady in from of the customer.. we was always taught get a stop watch close your eyes and count to 60... you will always count faster then the watch 5min always fill like 15min... and he did yell at the customer he said he raised his voice so he could talk over the customer and of the customer is yelling you are yelling...
Story 1- The manager was ABSOLUTELY unprofessional. In every argument, fight or conflict, you ALWAYS have to check the security cameras to see who started all this.

Ikr AND the manager didn’t even ASK the EMPLOYEES TRUSTED to work there for what had happened?!
Plus he even was YELLING AT THE MANAGER, who would do a 90% off when your customer is screaming at you?!
With my team lead
I got off I was grabbing some chips for my mom and I heard a phone ringing found it was a left phone I answered and told who was on the phone where it was I finished my shopping and was going to pay at self check out I saw a lady talking to one of my team leads. This is how team leads and managers should act
If that happened to me I would immediately put all my stuff on the counter, flip the manager off and say I quit
As a manager if a client demands 90% discount for his trouble I instantly would assume that all is a scam and a lie.

the full quote last i heard was "the customer is always right IN MATTERS OF TASTE" - Harry Gordon Selfridge
The reason the quality of customer service is dropping is because the management always sides with the customer no matter how unreasonable they are.
Story 1-I’m an eleven Christmas retail survivor and this proves my theory that spine removal is a prerequisite to become manager
On top of losing about 97% of brain cells (yes I work in retail and my assistant store manager is a f*cking idiot) all because I have ASD and need my earbuds to deal with loud areas
Story 2: Report that union rep for not doing their job. That is not something to be taken lightly.

Managers look out for themselves, they will say they got your back that's a lie.

Unfortunately it seems that Home Depot’s policy is “the customer is always right” no matter how wrong the customer is
How to handle entitled people: drop a boulder on them making them a human accordion.
Story 1: I can't stand managers with no backbone, id guess they're one of those that was promoted since they'd been there for so long.

I had an escalation call one day so I asked my supervisor to step in she did and I never heard that supervisor hit the roof before until that one day when the caller on the other end of the call called me stupid and an idiot. She ended pretty much yelling at the caller and telling that caller that I am the best of the best and they need to know their place or we will stop doing business with them.
appriciate that you send daily post keep up this up man!
Here is what I was taught :
#1 - Learn both sides : Upon approaching the scene the manager should speak to both the customer and their employee to get both sides of the story.

And he just wants hIs sCeWZ
The story about the first date, it honestly sounds like the guy is more upset about not having intimate relations with her than anything else and the last story sounds like he simply got cold feet.
op's manager should have at least told op that he did a good job calming the customer down, instead of him being angry at him.
but i'm glad that op quits his job.
"The customer is always right, in maters of taste" is the original quote and it has been bastardized to force employees to deal with bullshit
the biggest SCENE I've ever SEEN 2:44
8:02 as someone who works at Homedepot…it sucks!
Anytime I hear "the customer is always right," I always want to say the Ben Affleck line in Mallrats. "The customer is always an asshole!"
Story 1- Jamie was taken in by a scammer. Is Jamie going to give in every time to a customer who yells a lot? I would make a bet that the angry customer was related to Jamie.
Nice video!
Do you agree that people who said first are annoying
@@ZORO1fan who doesn't

Last story. I'm sorry. but the other side of the story is not being heard here.
Last Story: Please go to your desired Art School. We know what can happen if you keep someone from going to Art School...
That guy has a screw loose.
Love the vids keep it up
If a lady i was dating just said out of nowere that i need to covert to a religion i am going to ask if she is joking and if she is serious i am leaveing
Its me ... or most of the manager who are spineless are either: Old dudes who believe the "costumers are always right" and every single costumer is a regular. Or Karens who seems to had a go at everyone employ below her and has to make them miserable from a power trip they had. If i was the owner, i would physically shove them out of the door and beat them up from their entitled attitude.
Is the poster from the last story the subject of the song, more than my hometown?
What’s the game I’m seeing I need to play this
nah bro. Humanity died
Good Video
If I were a manager I wouldn't fall for his BS and I would tell him to come down and I would question the other employees what happened most likely I would side with the employees and I don't care how much noise you make he's not getting one penny off
Vicios_Blox was the first person to comment
Ok this might be a jerk move but I would give him 90% off the cost and the actual items making it so like if he buys 100 screws I’d give him ten
Cheese bur bur
Yeah I would've sued Jamie's balls off for being a horrible manager.
Sorry but Jamie did his job!
Well, that wouldn't happen in Germany because if the customer started screaming, they'd simply be thrown out Fuck it old man or not he would be back in the fresh air as quickly as he can no longer imagine
I’ve never been this early
I hope they all quit then the managers looked at the cameras and seen they fucked up really bad and got fired forever from other ones permitly banned
Isn't the best opinion.
the like number is 69.....time to change that....

Anyone know what the game in the background is?
Ok
Please, don't blame the girl's religion for her attitude. It's the girl, not her religion to blame. In fact, Judaism does not EVER proselytise, it's the absolute opposite. The religion leaves the decision to the person without even suggesting conversion.
Name of the background game?

The customer was not completely entitled. They were forced to wait for someone that should have been there in a minute. And then others come in and get help from someone who was supposed to help him first, I don't see why everyone thinks he is complete garbage? He definitely went overboard with it, but he had a good reason to be frustrated with these workers, mainly Darcy.
Unless you've worked retail , you have absolutely no idea
