The irony is, I hear someone say the Earth is flat, I think "That's weird". If they hear someone say the Earth is round, they freakin lose it.

I've had arguments with a few flat earthers. The best way to shut them up is by telling them the earth is a cone and the very tip of the cone is the Bermuda triangle, that's why countless ships and people disappear there. Then when they try to argue, you ask them if they're disagreeing with facts (of these people disappearing). It annoys them rather quickly
I know a guy who shuts down flat earth with the “donut earth” theory, something about the earth rotating on its core and literally being shaped like a three-dimensional donut. He doesn’t believe a word of what he’s saying but it’s a funny way to beat fire with fire.

Fun fact to debunk the flat earthers. The ROTATION of the earth has to be accounted for when long-range missiles are fired. My dad used to test long range missile systems for an afb in California

@Jonas Arbeiter well maybe I didn't word that right I'm sure God is just concerned for the deceived which I am as well though a human reaction is to want to defend yourself when others insult your worldview so that's why I had the knee-jerk response. I have some good stuff on my channel though proving nasa to be liars time and again . There's also plenty of scriptures that indicate the earth is stationary it is fixed and immovable.

1st story: If there is an ice wall around the edge of the earth, guarded by some military presence, then where are the people who have said that they've been to the ice wall and were turned back by a navy ship?
Where are the ex sailors who have retired from those navies who have said that they've served on those ships and have since retired or left the service?

A religious customer once tried to convince me that the big bang is a lie, his reasoning was that if a car blows up outside the mall a planet wouldn't pop out, I just nodded and said "sure bro", debating with such people is 100% fruitless because they think they are already the smartest people on this flat earth.
So his argument is the big bang is a lie because a little bang wouldn't pop out a planet? Who knows, maybe it does, given the scale difference between our entire universe and our planet, it's entirely possible every explosion create a new galaxy, just so microscopic we don't notice them.

Ok, the flat earth thing is clearly crazy and started as a 4chan joke, but I know a pilot with an undergrad degree in aviational engineering who believes it.... Not even joking. Clearly, he's brilliant. From a family of pilots and geniuses. First time he talked about it I'm like, wait, what???
I was invited to a dinner for one of my wife's patrons, and the patron had invited some other guests as well, like a composer, a couple of actors, and other creative types. One was a magician, who begged me to go on a podcast for him. At first I was a bit honored to be asked to go, but the more he talked the more my heart sank to the floor because he thought I could convince the podcast host that the Earth wasn't flat. After all the pleadings I just looked at the guy making the request and said, "I'm sorry, I can't fix stupid" and turned down the offer.

Story 4: There was one time when my Family and I were in Dover and we were getting ready to get head out for the day to look around and we got stuck in a stairwell that had been under construction. I thought the stairwell was open because our floor had several stairwells and I thought the one nearest our room was one I had taken down previously. My mom ended up calling the front desk and telling them we were stuck in a stairwell. The front desk sent someone to let us out of the stairwell. My Parents were mad at me because it was my fault that we were stuck in that stairwell. So, Was I the jerk for getting my family and I stuck in a Stairwell in our hotel in Dover England?

The flat earthers should pool their resources and buy or rent a ship or a plane that they can use to go look for the edge of the world. If they find it they'll prove their point. If not then no one will ever need to hear about it again since they either won't come back or they'll disprove their own point and be too ashamed to talk about it again.
I kind of hope they do this and prove themselves right, by falling off the edge of the world never to be heard from again.

The Bible actually does describe it as flat, using in the original Hebrew word for round or disc as opposed to ball, and that it's set upon pillars and divided into quadrants (often mistranslated as corners) and stretched out beneath a dome to which the stars are affixed, and above which is an expanse of water.
Probably best not to refer to texts that predate the scientific revolution since the flat earth and geocentric idealism was common knowledge back then amongst many cultures, especially European or Christian.

The most pathetic thing about story one, that actually makes me angry, is the fact that Gary - and others like him - know that their arguments are so bad, and have so little merit, that no one in their right mind would listen to them. And yet they are so desperate for attention, that they will employ predatory tactics like what Gary just did.
