Russ had 26tds and 8ints with a 66% completion rate in15 games. They sit him down for 2 games. Russ numbers put him in the top 10 of all QBs. Had a bad year the first year in Denver, but he actually had a good year last year.

I believe that’s why some people (read: Nick Wright) want Russ out of the league. It’s the same reason Cus D’Amato told Mike Tyson’s handlers to avoid tall fighters who could move well and had good jabs, especially Lennox Lewis. He knew Lennox would beat Mike 9 out of 10 times. Every athlete has his Kryptonite, and Russ (along with Burrow) is definitely Mahomes’s.

But Sean didn't like Wilson and made absolutely no effort to adjust to Wilson's strength. In fact, it was quite the opposite - Wilson was forced to fit to Sean's hypothetical QB.

All they needed was a RT & C and they drafted arguably the best C in the draft, and one of the best Tackles in the draft. Their o line is going to be really good this year you’re trippin if you think the Steelers weapons are close to what the bears had

So yes I believe bears weapons last year are still better than what the steelers have. I have know idea why you'd even say that. And I was speaking mainly to the weapons part of what he said. Teams that need linemen draft linemen every year and still end up needing a line the following year. I mean steelers have been drafting linemen for years since big ben and havent gotten it right yet It's hit or miss. So we'll have to see regardless about whose line is better
@@DATRUTH_19it’s not just about weapons at receiver though, which they drafted another top 10 WR so it’s not like they had the bengals or the dolphins calibre receivers let’s be for real, their WR rooms was above average at best, the only person that managed to do more with less last year was Patrick Mahomes. Look at Josh Allen, how good was he till Stef went to the bills, now he is a good 3, top 5 at worst QB, sometimes it just takes I element to be right, I think for fields i was kinda of that but on top of that coaching and continuity is also important, and the organisation just wasn’t that competent either, they basically changed the entire organisation for Caleb (except the defence which was actually pretty good last year), so that’s why I don’t think Justin fields has been fairly evaluated, he was not developed that great, he didn’t have great weapons and not a great staff around him too. So I think the next couple of years will determine if he is a good QB not his past, because with all that he still did okay, not great but they didn’t completely flunk.

I don't get Joys point, it's not absurd for the fans to want to see fields play or there be pressure on the coaches to play fields if Russ is struggling. Just because they traded virtually nothing to get him doesn't take away from the fact that the steelers have no real QB1 and considering that they aren't in a rebuild and have a semi talented roster people want to see them win games. If fields looks good in whatever packages or playing time he gets of course people will want to see him start games.
I think Joy's take on Justin has always been on the lazy side as she just looks at the win totals and numbers while completely ignoring the fact that much of his time with the Bears he had absolutely nothing around him. Especially his first 2 years on the team.

I fundamentally disagree, and think you and joy underestimate the market, the QB market in the future ain’t looking so bright, next years draft class is by far not as good as this one, so the Steelers want Justin to be the guy, so they don’t have to think about the Qb position for the next 5 years at least, and they can focus on their first love, defence. Russell won’t play great, if we are talking about ceilings he met his years ago, it’s is a decline every year from here on out, he may have better numbers, but his play isn’t going to get significantly better, his play has to be near MVP level for them to put aside Fields at this point, because the steelers don’t strike me as an organisation that can be bothered to keep searching for their star QB. Plus Fields is still on an upward curve, so you are looking at his current state, and how he can develop too. He has great qualities, but needs help in others, if the steelers think they can help him during the season and want to see what that looks like in the games he will play. It is very likely that if Justin develops quite well he will end the season as the starter. Because that’s what the steelers and Mike want, they like Justin, and so long as he does develop I think he will win this job, and I don’t think it will even be that hard, u less Russ plays MVP level, which he has done for almost half a decade at least, because everyone but Joy wants him to win it.

James is right. At some point, you have to see what Fields can do with the Steelers. Usually, they reserve the last few games on a losing season to do that, but the Steelers don't have losing seasons, so they have to mix him in some way.

The Justin Fields hate is strong. His numbers are good so far career 82 qbr. With his last two yrs 85 and 86
Nah man, his passer rating was 86 last season. He had a qbr of 46. Perfect passer rating is 158.3. The highest qbr last season was Brock Purdy with almost 73. I am a born and raised Bears fan and watched every snap. I dont think it's going to matter what team he is on, but I wish him the best.

I feel bad for Fields. He is a good guy. He has some obvious blunders, but he digs hard. As a Bear fan, he could be a comeback NFL superstar. Be careful who you blast when finds his core. He has the intangibles, but is extremely insecure under pressure. It is very complex, but the right situation may develop him just like Hurts.
Fields is going end up with a better career than Kaleb!

Russell Wilson's statistically worst season was almost identical to Justin Fields statistically best season. The only reason people believe an unproven QB with minimal success is better than a 13 yr veteran, 9x pro bowler, SB champ is because humans are always more drawn to the flashy, exciting highlights over the stable, consistent thing even if it's proven to be superior. Fields is more shiny and new (younger), people think he's "cooler" and more exciting to watch. Russell may not have as many WOW plays but he's going to get the ball into the endzone, he isn't going to turn it over that much at all, and you can trust him to win it if the game's on the line in 4th qtr situations. The data backs this up. Anybody saying Justin is QB1 are saying that with wishful thinking because they like him more. Y'all setting dude up lowkey.
