I just got his bundle pack recently and have been enjoying the bebop etudes so much! Grabbing so much useful vocabulary from those!

Would never have thought of D minor pentatonic as choice over Cmin7 , that's awesome!

..Cecil is so on point with his playing, definitely a musician on the move..i like the concept of moving up by minor 3rds on the minor example, it seems that the more common tones and close chromatic movement possibilities are part of why this works..you can actually learn heavy musical vocabulary these days even if you’re not able to take private one on one lessons with a great teacher, like Cecil Alexander for example..thanks to Jazz Lesson Videos for bringing these important courses..Berklee!..Cecil Alexander!..New York March 22, 2023..

Wow! This is amazing. A lot of the intro theory/analysis I was familiar with, but I am enamored by how well you taught it. Absolutely loved the licks and your analysis, will be working on these over the week! You are an amazing teacher and an even better player! Source: Long time teacher

Thank you for that!I literally love your channell :) i would like to ask : is there any theoretical concept about wich key of the pentatonic is better to use over the chord?Like say for example in a II V I the V is for tension,is he using kinda the same concept?using certain melodic key over a certain chord for tension and release?

Man love the videos. I feel like a little tiny bit of dirt, compression and verb would go nice on the tone though 😊
