    Pete crying at his mothers funeral is by far the best and most natural piece of acting in Peter Dean’s career.

    EastEnders would be incapable of producing such understated scenes today, scenes containing pathos and realism. These days the show is an over acted pantomime, with only Ian, Dot and Sharon to remind us of the good old days.

      bldali this was about July 1988. The writers were probably still mulling over things cos the actor David Scarboro had only died in April. Todd Carty took over in 1990 and it was explained Mark had been abroad I think

    Not realistic that since Lou Beale made a list of who was invited and who banned, she would have allowed Pat to be at her funeral. Didn't Lou hate Pat for the whole paternity drama over Simon and turning Pete and his brother Kenny against each other through her affair with Kenny when she was married to Pete?! The beginning of 'Ender's illogical writing...

    • @lizbryant8347
      @lizbryant8347 9 років тому +10

      Euro-African Lou specifically sought her out to make peace the day before she died. It was what Lou said that finally convinced Pat to tell Simon who his real dad was.

    • @Eurafrican
      @Eurafrican 9 років тому +2

      Liz Bryant you're clearly a better EastEnder fan than me! That makes sense but wasn't made clear that they had reconciled.But these days the writing's even worse.

    • @Eurafrican
      @Eurafrican 7 років тому +1

      Kris Ford again not made clear it you didn't see that particular episode. Should have been mentioned. Pat could have said something like "So glad she forgave me for everything before she went." But nothing is said like this at all. They built up Lou's hatred for Pat over the first few years and then resolve it in one single episode. Silly.

    • @derekhorne8076
      @derekhorne8076 6 років тому +1

      No It was very rare to see a train on the bridge, usually as a tribute to a character or on special occasions as the special effect cost the BBC a lot of money I think it was the first time a train had actually been seen rather than just heard

    • @stephenmcconnell1000
      @stephenmcconnell1000 5 років тому +2

      No, it was the first time the BBC had used that effect on the show because in reality there is no train line up there. It reportedly cost at the time 'an arm and a leg, but old Lou was worth it.'
